PART-I

It seemed like only a dream, for the most part. Melfina looked at the swiftly moving sea, swaying in the breeze. Twenty years, and she hadn't changed a bit. She looked at her reflection in the clear blue water. "How is it to truly feel?" She knew she was a biohumanoid, and the characteristics of any normal person, yet she seemed to lack a few.

"Gene, Jim, I'm sorry you were left back on your homes, but I want to leave you to lead normal, happier lives. A new story must begin, and I hope you will live without me." A solitary tear dropped into the water. She looked at the hanger, floating in the water, holding on to the Outlaw Star, to be rebuilt, and refurbished for a deeper journey into space.

*****

A lone star ship hurled through space. Its design and markings revealed it to be a Ctarl-Ctarl ship, and it carried a very, very frustrated individual. Her name was Pi-ki-lu. She wasn't the usual ambassador, or captain. She was a cook, a royal and beloved chef. She regretted the time she vowed to find the finest and rarest dish in the galaxy. "Me and my big mouth," Pi-ki-lu mumbled. Her ship soared past the security points and hurtled to her destination, Blue Heaven.

*****

Blue Heaven seemed to be bigger since those twenty years had passed. Crowds of juvenile bandits patrolled the streets and caused mayhem and chaos. A lone soul walked through the hordes of people in the main lot. He was a young boy of 14, with light reddish-brown hair, and a waving ponytail. His bangs were long, and a streak of gold hair came out in front. Wise and young gold eyes were mounted in the front of his handsome face. His name was Kai, the son of one of the greatest space force officers to ever set sail in deep space. He always wanted to set sail in space one day, in deep space, and discover new things, like so many sailors and outlaws. He wore a cloak, and carried a long covered object over him like a lone samurai. He walked across the crowds. "So long, Blue Heaven." He sighed. His destination was any ship leaving port.

Kai walked around, looking for the port, until he sensed something. His eyes narrowed and looked around. He felt that something was not quite right; his mind and body sensed it.

"Come on, brat. Give us ya money or we gut ya!"

Quickly, Kai darted to find the sound's source. He turned and found bandits huddling over a girl. The girl was cute, about his age, with long light brown hair, and green eyes. The bandits forced her against the wall. The leader of the bandits held a laser knife and pointed it at her.

"Come, brat, want a nice cut over your face, or the dough? Nahhh, maybe you're worth something!" he cackled as he huddled over the girl.

"Maybe she is, but you aren't." A voice snarled calmly. Kai stood behind the bandit. The bandit glanced back and found a surprise.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YA PUNK?!" the bandit growled.

Kai breathed in. "Please leave the girl alone," he said politely. The punkish bandits surrouned Kai like wild, rabid dogs. Kai stayed quiet, still, and calm. a horde of the boys launched themselves at him with fists, kives, and two guns. Kai seemed to fade like mist and a loud clang, like a windchime--his blade--sliced the weapons and some hands, but not off. Kai held a sword, long and beautiful. The leader lunged at Kai with a club and swung at him, just before a blade as long as half a lamppost was in his face.

"I asked kindly, so please leave this girl alone, or...else."

The bandit, scared out of his pants, nodded, and ran off with his gang, terrified. Kai sheathed his weapon and walked to the girl. The girl opened her eyes and found herself at the boy who had saved her. "Thank you so much!" The girl yelped and huggled Kai, who wasn't expecting it.

Kai looked at the girl. "Uhh...no problem...uh...what is your name?" The girl giggled.

"Call me Mika, the greatest hacker in the universe!"

Kai smiled. "Well, greatest hacker, aren't your parents looking for you?" Mika was silenced by the comment. "Oh...I see...ummm...guess you're like me."

Mika looked at Kai. She could tell in his eyes that he shared the same pain she had. "So what's your name?" Mika asked girlishly.

"My name is Kai."

Mika grinned. "Kai, what a nice name. So where ya going to, Kai?"

"To the space port, find me a ship and set sail."

Mika smiled. "Me too!"

Kai and Mika shared a surprised stare.

'Man, this girl seems to be doing a lot of things like me. Too much of a coincidence,' Kai thought.

Mika shrugged. "Well, let's go!"

*****

The restaraunts at Blue Heaven had a strange customer who bugged the chefs for recipies. A Ctarl-Ctarl female, to be exact. Pi-ki-lu raced, looking for recipies. She had found two, but she needed more.

The cat girl stormed around, knocking people off the walkway. She ran around like a bullet out of a gun. "Man! Where are the restaraunts!!" Pi-ki-lu meowed.

Just then, she slammed into something. "Oowww, my face!" She growled, and managed to lift her head. She saw a brown-haired kid slammed into the floor with a girl helping him up.

"Ohh so sorry! Oh my gawd I gotta run!" The girl looked at Pi-ki-lu. "What's the hurry? You delayed yourself anyway by crashing into Kai here!" The girl giggled.

"Very funny, Mika," Kai grumbled. Kai sensed something and pushed Mika and Pi-ki-lu down, as the scream of a beam blast soared overhead.

"AHHHHHH ENEMY ATTACK!!!!!" a woman screamed.

"AHHHH ATTACKERS!!PIRATES!!!" Pi-ki-lu roared in fear.

Kai looked around, and the other people around screamed in fear. "Okay, so why are people running?"

Pi-ki-lu looked around fearfully. "Well, I don't want to find out wha'schasing them...anyway, I gotta get movin'." Before the Ctarl-Ctarl cook could leap in speed a huge mass crashed through a building. It was a crab-like creature, with spider-like legs, and two long claws. A troop of these biomechanical invaders ripped through buildings. One of the mechas spoke in a mechanical eerie voice. "Useless creatures. We are the voices of the sea. Feel the song of heaven. We are the hammer of justice. You will feel our wrath."

Mika looked at the mechanical monster. "Kai, your sword! You can attack them with it!"

Kai looked at Mika. "I feel something very powerful about them," he replied.

A security attack drone flew up from a hanger and fired a pulse gun at the claw of the monster. Kai grabbed the two girls out of the way. The creature took the hits, and its claw opened like a clam. Thousands of missiles flew from the claw and ripped the drone to shreds. Mika looked in fear. "Oh crap..."

Kai found a laser pistol on the floor. Pi-ki-lu felt that food wasn't the thing to worry about right now. She found a weapon herself. "Leave this place alone!"

Kai snarled, as he pulled the trigger. The bursts of energy pierced a leg. The mecha opened its claw and fired a blast of energy at the trio.

*****

Dizzy and bruised, Kai woke up in a pile of metal and debris. Mika and Pi-ki-lu lay dazed, too.

A female figure looked down at Kai.

"Huh...who are you?" he asked. The female was as beautiful as a goddess. She had golden eyes and blue hair.

"I'm sorry for the horrible situation, but you three are chosen."

Mika woke up. "Wha? Kai, who is she?!"

"Don't have a clue."

The female smiled. "My name is Melfina."

Pi-ki-lu shook the dust off her fur. "Well, you just came out of nowhere, Melfina."

Melfina looked at the children. "I believe you all have paths to take, and journies you all want to follow."

Pi-ki-lu shrugged. "Huh?"

Mika thought to herself, 'Well, I do want to become the greatest hacker, and find out why my parents died."

Kai dropped the gun. The three females turned to him. "War...is this the nightmare I feared?"

Mika looked confused. "Kai, you fired at that crab and we almost got our asses blown," she said.

"That's right, Kai, we're already fighting to survive."

Kai shook his head. "War kills innocent people. I don't want to be a part of it!"

Melfina walked up to the troubled youth. "Young one, you feel frightened, and you hate this situation. Yet I know your father was a warrior."

Kai turned. "H...how did you know?!"

Melfina smiled. "I know what you all want. Now I feel that you can do it. Your journeys."

Pi-ki-lu looked at the people she met. "Well, I'm caught up already and I guess I can help."

MIka shook her head. "Well, for my parents, I guess I'll leave this old burg."

Kai looked up. "Even though I hate war, I'll do it."

Melfina smiled. "Then it's settled."
