Okay, here I get to have my fun in pissing off Squee by bashing her beloved Van! Bwahahaha! (oh lord I'm going to be getting allot of hate mail for this...). This section is a sort of summary plus my own humble opinion about Dilandau's relationship with all the people he likes to abuse (well, except Folken, Dilly'd get that claw around his thoat if he tried smacking up Folken). Just to polietly let you know, THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!! YES, OODLES AND OODLES OF SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES!! Oh, and it's also REALLY long so BEWARE!! Bwahahaha!

Dilandau-sama makes his glorious entrance into the Escaflowne series in Episode 3 ("And there was great rejoicing! Hurray!") and we see him giving his loyal slayers a tough time of things as usual. As the series goes on, we find that Dilandau's beatings have an unusal effect on the Dragonslayers. Instead of becoming hateful towards their Dilandau-sama, they form an unbreakable loyalty to their leader.

Take Migel for example. His death was brought about by his unbreakale loyalty to his leader. When captured and taken to the palace in Freid, of course he refuses to betray Dilandau-sama. Later, when attempting to escape in his melf, Migel puts escaping second to earning Dilandau's forgiveness for being taken prisoner by the enemy. Migel attempts to kill Van with the help of his melef's stealth cloak, but fails and is badly injured, then strangled by that bloody Doppelganger *grrrr...*

Dilandau avenges Migel by killing Zongi after the doppelganger tells him of the "girl who can see both past and future" (I'm proabably quoting it wrong but oh well, I do that allot). As he's about to crush Zongi, Dilandau tells him how horrible he was for killing Migel (evidence that Dilandau does have a heart somewhere in that insane body of his).

The Slayer's loyalty to Dilandau is not broken even by their own deaths. In their last battle, The Dragonslayers are slaughter one by one by a less than sane Van and his Escaflowne. Dilandau stands alone in sheer terror, calling for Chesta and Gatti, when Van rushes across the battle field with the intent of running Dilandau threw "For Fanelia". As Van rushes towards Dilandau, the ghosts of the Dragonslayers command him to stop. It so turns out that Dilandau-sama is their patron saint who bestowed to them their glorious guymelefs, and they won't allow him to be killed.

After Dilandau escapes and is safely back to the floating fortress, more proof that he is not entirely heartless is shown. Standing on a sort of balcony that looks down past the clouds to the ground far below, he thinks aloud to himsef "You're all incompentent" and "Where's the glory dying in a battle like that". In a pain-filled voice, he quietly murmers the names of four of his Slayers ("Chesta, Gatti, Dalet, Viole..."), then throws a rose over the railing to fall to earth in remeberance.

After the sorcerers (more people I ain't to fond of) return Dilandau after "fixing him" (not in that way! Get your mind outta the gutter!!), there is only one soilder under Dilndau's command. That would be Jajuka, a beast-man whom Dilly isn't that nice to at first. During yet another battle with Van, Dilandau is taken away in a pillar of light. We later go to a scene of Allen reunited with his sister Celena/Serena...then later, as Allen, Princess Eries and Celena are in the graveyard, Celena sees a butterfly. She reaches out and crushes it in her hand. Then the most peculiar thing happens - Celena becomes Dilandau. Jajuka comes out of hidding and rescues Dilandau who is damn happy to see him. Enter amusing shocked Allen face here.

The Bad People

Ooooooo this will be fun!! Enemy number one: VAN FANEL!! The little prick who sliced up the perfection of Dilly's face!! Okay, I'm being overly mean since I don't hate Van at all...except for that little incident...okay nevermind. Anyway, Since Dilandau is oh so vain, you know it means trouble when you go and mess with his face. This all happened on one of the Zibach floating fortresses when Hitomi, Merle, Allen and his men go to rescue Van. There's a whole lotta fuss, then just as Van's running to Escaflowne and distracted by Folken, Hitomi arrives and sees her earlier vision comming to life. In the surrounding shadows, Hitomi sees Dilandau drawing his sword and comming up behind Van. Hitmoi screams, Van reacts, Dilly is pissed, and then that one swipe of a sword makes Van Dilandau's nemesis.

And to further Dilly's pain, Van just has to loose his mind and slaughter the Dragonslayers *cries!!* This pushes Dilandau over the edge and he pretty much looses every last shred of sanity he had.

Enemey number two: Hitomi. Why? Dilandau hates her for helping Van. Actually, I think Dilandau just hates everyone with the exeption of his Slayers and Folken who he respects, sincerley or not I haven't a clue, all I know is he listens to him most of the time. Back to Hitomi and Dilandau's hate for her. ACtually, I don't know what else to say since Dilandau kind of forgets about her due to the stronger hate he feels for Van.

Enemey number three: ALLAN!! Here's where I get to put my Allen bashing (Why be mean to Allen? It's just so fun! *evil laughter* Everyone seems to pick on the guy...). Allen continuosly prevents Dilandau from finishing off Van which is not a nice thing to do from a Dilly-fan's prespective. And of course, anyone that gets in his way is someone Dilandau don't like much. Unfotunately, the damn guy is Dilandau's brother *pouts* I remember now why I don't like Allen, he causes the wonderful Dilly to transform back to his original Serena/Celena form, Allen's long lost SISTER who was kidnaped by the sorcerers all those years ago to preform their fate alteration experiments on.

That about summs up (and spoils) the lovable pyromaniac. Hope not too many people are asleep *looks around suspiciously*
