Back to the Heroes

Mia and her grandfather, in the first episode, see what they believe to be a Ronin Warrior on the television and Mia goes out to find him. They see Ryo, although they have no idea the indenties of the Warriors. On the outskirts of Toyama, Mia's car stalls and she is forced to steal a policeman's bicycle to travel further into the city, even though most everyone is busy evacuating the place because of massive power outages and other unexplained incidents. Mia comes across a boy named Yuli who has been separated from his parents and then finds Ryo, in his sub-armor, fighting a Dynasty soldier. This sight confirms her beliefs in the old legends about the Dynasty and the Ronin Warriors, most of which have been studied by her grandfather.

She notices the Ronins arguing and shouts for them to cooperate but the soldier notices this and takes advantage, somehow liking his own pain to Mia and Yuli, whom he wraps in a steel chain. Despite this, Ryo still manages to win but throughout most of the series, Mia proves to be somewhat of a burden as far as fighting. For that reason, the Ronins often want to leave her behind so they may fight unencumbered but she cannot help worrying about their welfare and usually ends up watching from afar.

After the Ronins fight Anubis and Talpa scatters them about Japan, or whatever country the show takes place in, Mia has but two clues to find the other Ronins: a sword left behind by Ryo that seems mysteriously linked to his armor and a poem she unknowingly recites from her youth that describes the places from where the Armors originate. Most likely, these places are where the Ancient decided to place them upon their creation. She, Yuli and White Blaze head to a volcano and find Ryo has already revived himself, somehow. Anubis then arrives and Mia proves a burden yet again by limiting Ryo's attacking power; his armor grows so hot and Anubis grabs Mia so that Wildfire cannot approach.

However, Anubis strays from this resolve and possibly allows Ryo to defeat him. From there, they head to Shinshei University to find her grandfather posessed by a Dynasty spirit that Ryo dispels with a near-death experience. However, Sehkmet has put his poison in the doctor and he dies. Mia, saddened by her loss, searches even more ardently for the locations of the four Armors, using her search as a means to fill her broken heart. When Sehkmet destroys Shinshei she and Yuli flee, letting Ryo claim the victory, and begin their search. One by one, they find the other Armors and go to face Talpa. By this time, the Dynasty has stopped exploiting Mia in battle and concentrates more on the Ronins themselves, but Mia proves essentially useless except in the role of cheerleader from that point in the series.
