Realization

Ranma was thinking, which most people will say that is 
impossible for him to do.  However, that isn't true.  
Ranma was very capable of thinking, truth of the matter 
was Ranma was intelligent.  It happens that Ranma wasn't 
used to thinking in certain ways, which deals with co-existing 
with people, and specially with opposite sex.

What can you expect from someone who had been in 10-year 
training trip with almost no other constant human contact 
beside his father, whom was lacking in almost everything 
that made men intelligent.

Ranma had nothing but his father to learn from and not 
learn from.  Ranma learned martial arts from his father, 
but he also learned what not to do from his father.  
That's where his strong sense of honor comes from.

Genma had none and Ranma as growing up with him, watched 
what his father did and learned not to do those things 
that his father did.

However, this still did not prepare him for the society 
and how to live among people.  This causes him to come 
across as unintelligent and sometimes insensitive.

However, Ranma was intelligent when it came to battles and 
fights.  Ranma, right now was thinking of his life here 
and with Akane.  He decided that his relationship with 
Akane wasn't normal.  He watched enough TV and read enough 
manga to know that this isn't how couples acted.

Throwing insults all the time and also causing physical 
injury isn't something that he saw any couples do in any 
relationship in TV or in mangas.  

He also heard people from his school talk about their 
girlfriends or their boyfriends and what they usually do.  
From that he also knew that what he and Akane usually do 
wasn't normal things that the couples do.

He honestly liked Akane and till very recently he considered 
them a couple.  At first he resented the fact that he 
was being engaged to a girl against his will, but soon he 
grew fond of the girl and he become genuinely attracted to 
her.

However, no matter what he did, it seem Akane didn't like 
him at all.  He remembered how the insults between them got 
started.  Of course it was partially his fault not telling 
Akane about his curse, but it was her who started it by 
calling him pervert and freak, and other hurtful names.

He wanted it to stop, but every time she called him names 
or insulted him, it hurt so he had to do something and he 
insulted her back.  Now, it was a common thing between them 
and he didn't like it.

'I wish things between us will change'

Ranma wished, not for the first time.  Every time he think 
about Akane and his current situation, he made the same wish.

'I wish I knew how she really felt about me and this 
relationship'

That was second thing that Ranma always wished for when he 
thought about Akane.

Next day...

Ranma and Akane were walking to school like they always do.  
Ranma was up on the fence and Akane on the ground.  Ranma was 
deep in thought that he missed Akane looking at him with 
look of worry, anger, longing, and something else.

Akane was of course worried about Ranma.  He hadn't said 
anything since last night.  Today at breakfast he didn't 
eat with his usual speed or methods.  He was quite and he 
never said one word to her.

'I wonder what he's thinking?'

Akane wanted to get closer to Ranma.  And she wanted to 
tell Ranma how she felt about him.  However, she was afraid 
of how he will react when she tell him.  

First, she always insulted him and beat him for little things.  
She knew that sometime she let her anger get the better of her.  
But she couldn't help it.  She was just too jealous of other 
girls.  They always did things with Ranma that she wished 
that she can, but never had the courage to do with him.

Second, she was afraid that Ranma already hated her for 
all the time she insulted him and beat him.  It's true 
that he was insensitive and can say things that are hurtful, 
but so can she.  After all, if you think about it, it was 
her who started the whole insult thing.

Third, she was afraid of the other girls.  They were so 
much better then herself.  They were all prettier than she 
was, they were all better martial artist than her, and they 
could all cook things for Ranma.

There were other reasons why she didn't dare tell Ranma 
or get close to Ranma.  She wanted to, every time she see 
Ranma smiling or every time she see Ranma hurt, she wanted 
to go to him, to tell him how she felt.  But almost every 
time, something held her back or something got in the way 
and she would lose her nerves not to mention her chances.

Both Akane's and Ranma's thoughts were interrupted when a 
loud voice yelled out

"Ranma!  Prepare to die!"

Of course they both knew who it was.  It was Ryoga Hibiki, 
the eternally lost boy.

Ranma was rather amazed to see Ryoga already.  It has only 
been 2 days since he saw him last.  He thought Ryoga would 
be lost for at least another 2 days or more.

"Hey Ryoga, what did I do now?"

"Don't try to deny it Ranma!  For making Akane so sad, I'll 
make you pay!"

With that Ryoga attacked Ranma with his umbrella.  Of course 
when Ryoga said it, Ranma turned to look at Akane, and saw 
that indeed Akane look bit sad about something.

When Ryoga said it, Akane had to think for a bit.

'I looked sad?  I guess my thoughts were little too depressing'

Akane watched the two martial artist fight each other.  She 
couldn't understand what they had on each other and why they 
just couldn't get along.

Akane knew that Ryoga was a nice guy and from hearing stories, 
it was Ranma who started the fight.

Akane also knew that Ranma could be insensitive and Ryoga 
was sensitive guy.

Akane didn't know that Ryoga was petty and vengeful.

Akane didn't know that Ryoga takes advantage of her as P-Chan, 
sleeping on her bed and groping her when she holds him against 
her breasts.

Akane didn't know that Ryoga used weak excuse like he loved 
her to justify him sleeping in her bed and pretending to be 
her pet pig.

Akane was working with only few of the facts and that could 
be a dangerous thing when you draw conclusions from.

Because she had this biased facts against for Ranma, she 
decided that, this fight, even thought she clearly heard 
Ryoga declare death threat against Ranma, that it was Ranma's 
fault and that Ranma was picking on Ryoga.

"Ranma!  Stop picking on poor Ryoga!"

With that word she launched the nearest thing that she had 
to her, which was a brick that was lose on the ground.

Ranma was too distracted with Ryoga and didn't see the brick 
till it was too late.  It hit him on the side of his face, 
which districted him enough for Ryoga to land a punch to 
his stomach and kick to his face which sent him down.

Akane wanted to go after Ranma and ask him if he was ok, but 
since she had already committed herself to an action, she 
had to stick with it.

Ryoga was happy, Akane was taking his side again and helped 
him punish Ranma for his action against himself and also 
against Akane.  Akane must like him to stick up for him.

Ranma was on the ground.  He was of course in pain from the 
blows from both Akane and from Ryoga.  However, this time it 
was different from any other time.  Other times, he would 
just shake it off and start yelling at Akane for doing something 
like that to him.  However, Ranma was not going to do that 
this time.

Ranma has been thinking about Akane and himself and their 
relationship.  This time, when the brick hit him, a powerful 
realization hit him along with it.

'Akane hates me'

It was something that came to him so suddenly that he really 
didn't know where the thought came from.  However, when he 
thought about it, it seems more likely.

Ranma was getting up from the ground and he started to see 
in his mind all the time Akane abused him in favor of Ryoga.

Ranma saw all the time Akane yelled at him 'Ranma! Stop picking 
on poor Ryoga' or 'Stop picking on poor P-Chan'

They were virtually the same words, same exact form of words 
she used to protect Ryoag and P-Chan.

Ranma was finally seeing everything.  It was like a curtain 
that was in front of his eyes had been lifted.

Ranma realized that Akane had known about Ryoga and P-Chan 
all along.  Akane had known about Ryoga and P-Chan.  Her 
reason for making P-Chan her pet was to have Ryoga close to 
her.  Finally Ranma realized that it was Ryoga that Akane 
loved all along and not him.

Ranma finally realized that Akane truly hated him as she 
always said.  Ranma remembered all the time Akane yelled 
that she hated him or that she will never marry a pervert 
like him, or how she wished Ranma was more like Ryoga.

Ranma realized that Akane was trying to give him hints as 
to what was really doing on and how she really did hate him 
and that she was trying to say that she loved Ryoga.

When Ranma realized all this, he finally looked up to see 
Akane standing next to Ryoga.  Akane had this look in her 
eyes that held anger, most likely at him for fighting her 
Ryoga, and something like concern, probably at Ryoga.

Ryoga was smiling, a smile that said Akane loves me and not 
you.

Akane saw Ranma slowly getting up from the ground.  He was 
taking longer than usual and she was worried.  However, she 
was also angry at herself for doing something like that.  
Of course he probably deserved it for fighting with Ryoga, 
but she shouldn't have done it and now it seems that Ranma 
might really be hurt.

Akane came next to Ryoga and stopped and watched Ranma get up.  
She was about to say something when she saw the look in his 
eyes and knew that something was wrong.  She knew from the 
look in his eyes that things were about to change and it 
wasn't for the better.  She didn't like that look in his 
eyes and she wanted it to go away.  She was hoping that 
she was mistaken and looked again but it was still there.

In Ranma's eyes, which always shone with bright light and 
enthusiasm was now dull.  There was no shine and no happiness.  
There was no enthusiasm.  There was no sign of positive 
emotion in those eyes.  It was like Ranma had died emotionally 
and was looking through empty shell.

Ryoga saw the same thing that Akane saw, but Ryoga was happy 
that Ranma had that look in his eyes.

'Finally, I've broken him.  I've broken his spirit and I've 
ruined his happiness like I said I would'

Ranma looked from Akane to Ryoga and Akane again.  Finally 
he made up his mind.  He made up his mind to leave this place.  
Nothing was holding him here anymore.  He stayed because of 
Akane, but Akane didn't want him here.  

Ranma looked at Akane one last time and then turned and head 
towards the Tendo Dojo to collect his belongings so that he 
can leave Nerima for good.

Akane was about to say something, ask Ranma if he was ok.  
She wanted to say something to make that look in his eyes go 
away when Ranma looked at her.  From that look she got the 
feeling that Ranma was saying good bye to her for the last 
time.  She got the feeling that Ranma was leaving her forever.

Akane wanted to reach out and grab hold of Ranma.  She hated 
that look and she hated the fact that Ranma was acting like this.

'Ranma'

Akane was regretting what she did and was about to apologize 
to him when Ranma turned and ran towards the Tendo Dojo.  It 
happened so fast and so sudden that she didn't react for a
 minute.

Akane at first got angry for Ranma to just suddenly leave 
like that.  Then she remember the look, the look that seem 
to say that she will never see him ever again.

That scared her.  The concept of life without Ranma was 
foreign to her.  He was important to her.  She couldn't see 
herself without him.  She remembered the look again and she, 
for the first time in her life, was truly scared.

"Ranma!"

With that Akane ran as fast as she could back to her home.  
She had to stop him.

When Ranma turned and ran, Ryoga was happy.  He had finally 
achieved a true victory.  Of course, he didn't kill him, but 
he has broken Ranma's spirit and now Akane will be his.

Ryoga was about to talk to Akane, when Akane yelled Ranma's 
name and ran after him.

Ryoga thought that there was possibility that Akane might go 
after Ranma because she was concerned about him.  But he 
dismissed it.  Thinking that Akane was going after Ranma to 
punish him for running away from a fight, Ryoga decided to go 
after them himself.

Ryoga started to run and got lost as soon as he made a turn.

"Ranma!  This is all your fault!  If you would have just died 
like a man, I won't be lost right now!"

Tendo Dojo...

Ranma was in his room packing as fast as he can.  Of course 
that was very fast.  He was using his Chestnut Fist speed to 
pack everything that belongs to him into his pack.

He didn't have much, just clothes and some things that he 
collected during his stay at the dojo.

He finally gotten to the box that held many of his memories 
of Akane.

There was the hair that was cut off in his first fight with 
Ryoga.  Ranma looked at the hair and thought back to that time.

'I must have been stupid to think that she might like me.  
She probably liked him from then'

He remembered how after she got her hair cut off, she forgave 
Ryoga pretty fast.  She had never done that with him.  She 
always held grudge against him.

'I was never even in the race.  Ryoga had won even from the 
beginning'

Ranma dropped the hair back into the box that held other 
stuff and left the box on the top of the desk where people 
can easily find it.

'I won't need these anymore.  It will just serve to remind 
me of my foolish hopes and dreams'

Ranma was finished packing.  He thought about leaving without 
leaving a note, but he thought the Tendo's at least Kasumi 
deserved some explanation.

Ranma got out a pen and a paper and started to write something.  
Anything, but all his mind came up with was the fact that 
Akane didn't love him.

He tried to think of more to say but nothing else came to him.  
So he decided to write that.  He wrote

Dear Tendo's

I'm leaving Nerima.  Akane doesn't love me and I now realize 
that fact.  There is nothing for me here and I'm leaving.  
Thank you for the hospitality.  Don't try to look for me, 
you'll never find me.

					Ranma Saotome.

With that done, he was ready to leave.  He looked around his 
room one more time and decided to leave through the window 
instead of the door.  Someone might see him and ask him where 
he was going.

He was about to leave through the window when something 
attached itself to the backpack and he heard someone yell 
loudly

"RANMA!"

...

Akane was getting desperate.  She was running as fast as 
she can back to her house but Ranma had good 10-30 second 
lead and when Ranma was involved, that was a lot.

Akane kept seeing Ranma and his eyes and her heart was 
pounding so hard it was almost hard to run.  However, she 
had to get there to stop him from doing whatever he is going 
to do.

Akane kept seeing the mental picture of Ranma and his dead 
eyes.  

'Oh god, please, Ranma!  Please!  Don't do anything stupid!'

With prayed and wished and hoped that she'll be in time to 
stop Ranma.  She prayed to any and all gods that she can 
remember.  But mostly she prayed to her mother.

'Mother, please help me'

It seem like forever, but she finally reached the Tendo home, 
ran right by Soun, Genma, and Kasumi and ran up to the guest 
room where Ranma and Genma stayed.

Akane opened the door and looked inside and saw something that 
almost made her blood dry up.  The room was almost empty of 
all things.  There was a note on the desk and Ranma was 
almost out the window with a same backpack that he arrived 
with.

With all her might, all her strength, and also strength and 
speed born of desperation, she latched onto his backpack and 
yelled as loud as she can.

"RANMA!"

...

'What the?'

That was thought that went through Ranma's mind when he heard 
that yell.  It sounded like Akane and it was loud yell, and it 
held a lot of emotion in it.

From that equation, Ranma deduced that Akane was here because 
she wanted to punish him and the emotion that the voice held 
was one of anger.

After figuring out what was going on in his head Ranma decided 
to make things easy for Akane and just tell her that he was 
leaving and she'll never have to worry about him again, that 
she can go on and marry Ryoga.

"Akane, don't worry, I'm not going on a training trip or 
anything"

When Akane heard that, she was somewhat relieved.  Ranma 
wasn't leaving, but what about the backpack?

"I'm leaving for good.  I finally realized that you really 
do hate me"

'WHAT!  Ranma, I don't hate you!'

Akane wanted to say something, but her voice just will not 
work right now.  Her heart was pounding hard and she was so 
full of emotions that she couldn't get a word out.  All she 
could do was hang onto the pack like her life depended on 
it and the funny thing was, she felt that it did.

"I should have realized it sooner really, but it's my fault.  
I always hoped that you really liked me, even though I'm a 
freak and a pervert"

'Ranma, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry'

When Akane heard those words from Ranma, her grip on the 
backpack got tighter.

"I don't know, I guess I was living in a dream world like 
you said.  You remember the reversal jewel right?  You told 
me that I was living in a dream world.  I guess I was.  
I should have realized then and there, reversal jewel brings 
out the opposite feelings and she said you loved me while you 
were under it's effect.  I should have seen the sign but 
I missed it.  I guess I was living in a dream world, where 
you really liked me"

'Ranma I do like you, no, I love you!  The reversal jewel 
doesn't work like that!'

Akane was getting really desperate.  Ranma's voice was 
steadily losing it's life.  It was getting more lifeless 
and taking on a dark depressing tone as he spoke.  She 
had to get her voice back, she had to catch her breath 
and she had to get her emotion under control.  However, 
it was very hard for her, hearing all these words from him.  
She couldn't stop her tears from flowing and she couldn't 
stop her throat from being unable to produce sounds.

"I should have known that you knew about Ryoga and P-Chan.  
I should have known it was Ryoga that you really loved and 
not me.  You always defend him when he is in human form and 
in pig form.  I should have known that's why you took him 
in as your pet"

'Ranma, please stop, please!'

Akane wanted Ranma to stop, at least turn around and look 
at her, look at her eyes and he'll see that she didn't 
wanted to lose him, that she loved him.

She was getting to the point where she was about to go 
into panic or hysterical, when something Ranma said finally 
hit her.

'Ryoga?  Pig form?'

Then it all came clear to her.  All the time Ranma called 
Ryoga P-Chan.  All those jokes about Ryoga and P-Chan getting 
lost.  She then remember the time when Ranma came into her 
room with hot water when she took P-Chan as her pet.  
She saw all the times she defended Ryoga and P-Chan from Ranma.

'GOD NO!  NO NO NO!  Ryoga!  P-Chan!  It was always 
Ryoga's fault. Ranma was innocent.  Ranma try to protect 
me!'

Then she started to see all the times when Ryoga attacked 
Ranma for no reason, and it always followed by her 
defending Ryoga from Ranma.

'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!'

Akane was in pain.  She realized what Ryoga had done to 
her and she realized what she had done to Ranma.  She finally 
saw the full picture of Ryoga and not just half-truth.

Akane realized that she blamed Ranma unfairly, she should 
have defended Ranma instead of Ryoga and she allowed Ryoga 
to drive them apart.

When this realization hit her, she almost let the backpack 
go, because of the magnitude of the realization.

Ranma felt that grip loosening on his backpack and thought 
that Akane finally thought that he understood and moved to 
leave again.

Akane almost didn't feel Ranma's backpack slipping away 
from her because of her thoughts when at the last minute 
she realized what she was doing and grabbed onto the 
backpack and with all her energy and strength, she threw 
Ranma to the ground of the room and laid on top of him.

Ranma was about to leave when he felt Akane throw him to the 
ground and climbing on top of him.

'Oh, I guess she wasn't through yet.  I guess she wants a 
one more beating on Ranma'

When Ranma just laid there still, Akane finally thought that 
Ranma was going to give up running away and all this never 
see each other stuff.

'Finally'

All she wanted to do now was to calm down enough so that she 
can talk again and make up with Ranma.  Say her sorry and ask 
for his forgiveness and tell him that she loved him.

She was thinking of all the things that they could do together 
when Ranma spoke up.

"Akane, I guess you are still pretty angry about that little 
fight I had with Ryoga today.  I understand.  I guess you want 
to pound me one more time before I go.  Go on, I won't stop 
you, I won't fight back and I won't run"

That had hurt Akane more than any physical attack Ranma could 
have done one her.  She would have preferred being slapped by 
him.

'He, he thinks that I want to beat him.  Ranma...that's not 
it...I love you'

Akane started to see all the times she beat him.  All the 
times she unjustly beat Ranma just to satisfy her anger or 
just to get over her frustration.

They both laid there, Ranma hoping that it will be over 
quickly and also hoping that after that he'll have enough 
strength to leave Nerima.  Akane hoping that Ranma will 
realize that she loved him and forgive her.

Minutes passed and another.  Ranma was thinking that it was 
taking long for Akane to start the beating.

"Akane?"

Akane was finally recovering her voice, although little by 
little.  Her emotion which had choked her voice seem to have 
released a little of the voice that Akane needed.

"Ranma"

It was so quite that Ranma also didn't hear it, but he heard it.

"Akane, why aren't you beating me yet?"

Akane wanted to start crying again, but she finally had gained 
a little of her voice and she had to take advantage of it now 
or she was going to lose Ranma for good.

In Akane's mind she saw two possibilities for her future.  
One where she solve her problem with Ranma now and live happily 
and another one where she fails to settle things with Ranma 
and losing him.  

The second possible future scared her.  It was dark and lonely 
place where Akane didn't wanted to go.  Place without Ranma, 
place without love.

"Ranma, don't"

'Huh?'

Ranma was confused.  He heard her and he didn't understand 
what she meant by it.

"Akane?  What are you talking about?"

Ranma's voice started to carry emotion again and Akane heard it.  
She missed it most of the time, but this time she heard it.  
It was concern, concern for her.

"Ranma...don't leave"

"What?"

"Ranma, don't leave me"

Ranma was now truly confused.  It sounded like Akane was asking 
him not to leave, but that can't be right.  Akane hated him 
and wanted him to leave more than anything.  He must have 
miss heard it.  She probably said something like, Ranma please 
leave soon as possible.

"Akane, I'll leave"

Akane saw that it wasn't working.  Her voice wasn't 
strong enough and she couldn't tell him all she wanted 
to tell him with all her emotion and all her heart.  
She decided to get up and look him in the eye when she 
spoke.  Eyes are suppose to be the window to the mind.

When Ranma felt Akane getting off of him, he knew that 
Akane wanted him to leave, so he was about to get up 
when he was thrown back again, but this time on his back.  
It was rather uncomfortable being on his back because he 
still had that backpack on.

Ranma was about to get back up when something landed on 
his chest.  He looked down and looked right into the eyes 
of Akane.  Those eyes that held sadness, longing, love, 
and desperation.

'What's going on?'

Ranma thought to himself.  There was surge of hope but he 
tried to stomp that surge.  He refuse to hope just to be 
let down again.

"Akane?"

"Ranma... don't leave me please"

Akane said it while looking at Ranma.  She said it with all 
her heart and all her mind and all her being, hoping against 
hoping that the truth of those words and their message will 
be carried to Ranma through her eyes.

Ranma heard the words but what really got to him was 
Akane's eyes.  He had never seen anything like it before.  
It seems as though those eyes were trying to hold him here.

"Akane?  What are you talking about?"

"Ranma, please don't leave me"

"But why?  You hate me"

As soon as Ranma said it, he saw tears start to flow down 
Akane's face.

Akane couldn't help but let those tears flow.  She didn't 
wanted to but she couldn't help it.

"I'm sorry Ranma.  I'm really sorry"

"Akane?"

"I love you"

Those three words, those unexpected three words shocked 
Ranma so greatly that he didn't know what to do.  He looked 
into Akane's eyes and saw that she did indeed say it but it 
couldn't be true, Akane hated him.

"Akane, what are you talking about?  You hate me"

"NO!  I don't hate you Ranma.  I love you.  Please believe 
me"

Ranma's mind was in turmoil.  He knew that Akane hated him, 
he figured it out.  But Akane was there in front of him 
telling him that she loved him.

'She must be playing a joke on me.  Say she love the poor 
fool and crush him later'

Ranma was thinking but when he looked into her eyes, those 
thoughts vanished.

"Akane"

"Ranma, I love you, I do, it's the truth, you have to believe 
me"

"What about Ryoga?"

When Ranma mentioned Ryoga, Akane's anger took over and that 
somehow let her regain full control of her voice.

"RYOGA!  Ranma, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I didn't know Ryoga 
was P-Chan!"

"What?  You didn't?"

"Ranma, I didn't know.  I didn't know, that Ryoga was doing 
something like that.  I didn't even know the whole truth 
and I blamed everything on you.  I'm sorry Ranma, please, 
please don't leave me"

'Could she possibly have not known?'

"Akane, what are you talking about?  Of course you knew, 
that's why you let him become your pet"

"NO!  I didn't know.  I thought it was just another cute pig.  
I didn't know Ryoga was sick enough to do something like that.  
He seems like such a nice guy."

"I know, that's why you fell in love with him"

"RANMA!  I AM NOT IN LOVE WITH RYOUGA, I LOVE YOU!"

When Akane yelled those lines, Genma and Soun broke into the 
room with celebration materials.

"Finally the house will be joined!"

"Way to go boy!"

Akane was angry.  She was trying to convince Ranma that she 
loved him and she needed him to stay, but these idiots were 
ruining it.  She could already tell that Ranma was ready to 
leave, he was getting tense.

"BAKA!!!!!!!"

With that she did something that surprised everyone present, 
even herself.  She shot a ki blast, a perfect replica of 
Shi Shi Hokodan and nailed the two idiots with it.

The last thing the two idiots thought before passing out on 
the Tendo lawn was how did she do that?

"Akane?  When did you learn how to do that?"

"I didn't"

"You must have learned from Ryoga.  You must have trained 
with him secretly"

"No!  Nothing like that, I didn't train in secret with Ryoga"

"Akane, then how do you explain what you just did?"

"Ranma, please, I'm telling you the truth, I didn't train in 
secret with Ryoga and I don't love him.  I love you"

Ranma so wanted to believe what Akane was telling him.  
However, from past experience that anything with Akane meant 
pain for him later.

"I'm not sure"

Akane saw that there was battle going on inside Ranma.  
She hoped that the side that wanted to believe her will win.

"Ranma, I'm sorry for everything I've done.  You are not a 
pervert and you are not a freak.  I love you.  I'm sorry, I 
was always jealous of other girls and only way I can get over 
it was to take it out on you.  I'm sorry, I shouldn't have 
done it, but I couldn't help it.  I was scared that you were 
going to go with another girl and leave me"

"Akane, that doesn't make sense.  You were afraid of me 
leaving you so you beat me, tell me you hate me, and tell 
me to leave you alone?"

At that point, Akane started to tear up again.

"I know, it sounds stupid, but that was all I could do.  
Please, you have to believe me.  I love you!"

"Akane, I don't know what to believe.  I don't know what's 
going on"

Akane saw that the battle inside Ranma was going on hard and 
she needed to do something that will tip the scale in her favor.

She lean up on him and kissed him.  She kissed him like her 
life depended on it, she kissed him with all her might, all 
her soul, all her heart and all her ki reserves that she 
didn't even know she had.

When Akane kissed him, Ranma was surprised.  He was about 
to break off when he felt her ki.  He felt her soul, her 
mind, and her ki which represented her emotion.

He felt, desperation, longing, and feeling of fear, but he 
felt love.  The feeling of love was so strong, he got caught 
up in it and the battle in his mind was finally over.

When the kiss was finally over, both were left breathless.

Ranma looked down to Akane to finally see the love in her 
eyes and desperation and fear over losing him.

"Akane?"

Akane was looking into Ranma eyes, and finally she saw that 
the dark look of emotional death left his eyes.  There was 
something in his eyes, she recognized it was wonder and hope.

Akane started to hope that finally that she had broken 
through to Ranma.

"Akane?"

"Ranma?"

"Do you really?"

"Yes!  Yes I love you!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!"

"You are not playing tricks on me?"

"NO!"

"Do you have the reversal jewel on you?"

"NO!"

"Oh"

With that Ranma got up off of the floor, helping Akane up 
as well.

Akane stood up with Ranma and just looked at him.  Waiting 
for something, anything to happen.

Ranma started to walk towards the window, deep in thought.  
He still had his backpack on and he didn't even notice.

When Ranma started to head for the window, fear gripped 
Akane.

'NO!  After all that, he didn't believe me!  He's going to 
leave me!'

Vision of dark and lonely place filled Akane's minds.  She 
lost the strength to stand on her own and she started to 
fall to her knees.

Ranma turned to see that Akane was falling, and he caught her.

"AKANE!"

"Ranma?"

"Are you ok?"

"Why?"

"Huh?"

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why are you leaving me?  After I told you I love you!"

"Who said I was leaving?"

"But, you were heading towards the window!"

"You are still jumping to conclusions.  I was just walking 
around to think"

"You mean you are not leaving me?"

"No, of course not.  I love you too you tomboy!"

"You love me?"

"Yeah"

'YES!'

"RANMA!"

With that she started to kiss him again.  This time the 
kiss held love and joy for both Ranma and Akane.

However, during the middle of the kiss, Akane realized what 
Ranma called her and broke the kiss.

"RANMA!  How could you call me a tomboy after you told me 
you loved me!?"

"Akane, I told you I love you, I didn't say that you were 
less of tomboy"

"RANMA!"

Year Later...

The wedding was beautiful.  Akane looked beautiful in her 
white dress and Ranma looked handsome.  Wedding was success.  
All the troublemakers were of course not invited.

Kunos were both arrested for attempted murder when Kuno came 
after Ranma with real katana.  Kodachi for possession of 
illegal drugs.

The Amazons, except for Mousse were deported for coming to 
Japan without passport and getting through without custom with 
all those drugs and jewels.

Ukyou was in Tokyo trying to explain how 16 year old girl was 
registered as 16 year old boy and was owner of a restaurant.

Nabiki was tricked to believe that the wedding was the day 
after instead of the day by Kasumi.

Soun and Genma were also not present during the wedding, 
recovering from injuries inflicted on to them by Akane and 
Ranma after another fiancee showed up.

The wedding, which was small, and attended by Kasumi and Nodoka, 
who was finally reunited with her son.

Ryoga was in no condition to come for the wedding.

After Ranma and Akane had settled their differences and Ranma 
finally convinced that Akane truly did love him, they talked 
for whole day and a night about everything.

When Ryoga showed up couple of days later, Akane was prepared.  
Ryoga was in his pig form and Akane acted like nothing was wrong.

However, Akane acted as though she was concerned for the health 
and well being of her pet took him to the vet to get him all 
the proper shots and also to have him fixed.

Although she didn't wanted to go that far, it was done by the 
vet because of the hostility and rabid behavior of the pig.

Note:

This is a story I wrote for the fun of it.  I'm not sure but 
this story came to me and when I started it, it was going to 
be a dark or sad fic, but I didn't really like it so I fixed 
it, and end result was this.

This I didn't send it to pre-readers.  It was a one shot idea 
that came to me one day and just won't leave me.  I tried 
really hard to get over it, but it won't leave me alone.  
I had to write it.  I know it's kind of strange and it's weird.  
But all I can say is that these little men in my head won't 
leave me along until I wrote it.
