FEATURE CRITIQUE

1ST FEATURE: HOW TO BUILD A WEBSITE

WEBSITES AND WEBPAGES PROVIDERS.

Are you a hard core anime fan and you want to share your passion with the world? Well the internet is the fastest and best way to connect with the rest of the world. The internet is composed of trillions of sites, some are free and some are paid for. The best and most popular free webpages providers are Angelfire
, Geocities
, AOL, NCBi, MSN, Homestead, Fortune City, and Tripod. This websites offer free significant webspace and tools to build your own webpages. I would personally recommend Angelfire because it supports most browsers, it gives you lots of space, and, from my experience with other providers, it’s the easiest to use. The only significant problem with free providers is that your url is too long, but that’s why we also have free url redirectors; These Redirectors offer you a smaller url that when used it takes the visitors to your original site. The best and most famous free url redirectors are CJB, and GET.TO. Moving on to paying sites, as how we have free providers, there are costing providers. Costing providers are used by most important websites on the net. These providers give you your own .com, .net, or .org address. They also give you a hell of a lot of space, free domain e-mail, free submission to search engines and more. I don’t have much experience on this, but all I can say is that they can be good or a pain in the ass because they charge you too much, they stop functioning, and more; specially those low-cost providers who just put over 3 pop ups in your site and they’re often down. The most famous and most reliable costing providers is Network solutions and some sites still had problems with it. In conclusion, if you want a good, reliable site I would personally go for the free providers listed above.

CODE

Are you a hard core anime fan and you want to share your passion with the world? Well the internet is the fastest and best way to connect with the rest of the world. The internet is composed of trillions of sites all made with the some of the following codes: HTML, Script, Java, and more. I’m here to present to you and help you with the most important one; HTML. HTML stands for bla bla. This code is the main code to build a website. It’s not very difficult to master the basic codes such as making links, aligning graphics and texts and making small tables. There are many free providers who even make it easier by providing basic editors; with these you can have a small, nice looking page. If you wanna have a cool layout instead use HTML in advanced editors, but before you do read this or visit these sites: HTML gear , Web Spawner , Doctor HTML , Web design group , and Webmonkey; which give you tips and other cool stuff for building with HTML. In conclusion, if you want to build a cool page I would recommend to use HTML, but first learn it a bit and experiment with it a lot.

PROMOTING

Are you a hard core anime fan and you want to share your passion with the world? Well the internet is the fastest and best way to connect with the rest of the world. The internet is composed of trillions of sites all made listed on search engines where you can look and find them. You can too promote your site so other people can see it. You can submit it for free to search engines. Some of the best and most popular search engines are Cnet’s search, Goggles, Goto, Mamma, MSN, Altavista, Yahoo, Lycos, Dragon Ball Critique anime search *jokes* and NCBi. You can submit your site to most of these engines here, and here. In conclusion, promoting your site is one of the most satisfying things you can do with your site because this way you’ll be able to share your passion with the world.

Akira Toriyama

"Too much fantasy looses reality, too much hope may seem somehow empty".Today, Toriyama is considered one of the greatest comic artists in Japan. His name means "Bird-Mountain" (thus the name of his studio, "Bird Studio"). He can't stand cold weather and is afraid of rats-- but who is Akira Toriyama?

Toriyama was on born April 15, 1955, in the Aichi District of Japan. There is a story, which tells of Toriyama's interest in drawing which started at a young age. Whenever the young Akira found he really wanted something, he would draw the object over and over until he got it- or lost interest. Toriyama attended school, and entered the Prefectural Industrial High School where he hoped to earn a degree in graphic art. In 1978 he did just so, and graduated with his degree. In late '78, when Toriyama was twenty-three, he joined Shueisha, the biggest publisher in Japan at the time. Working as a professional artist, Toriyama soon published his first work, Wonder Island in a magazine called the Shonen Weekly Jump. He continued to publish short little works in Shonen Jump, but it wasn't until 1980 when he released Dr. Slump that Toriyama truly achieved real fame. Dr. Slump ran for four years in the Shonen Jump, and was placed in 18 compilation volumes. In 1984 Toriyama created the series Dragon Ball, a tale based loosely on a monkey god and his adventures. This idea, this story, was to forever shift what made a manga comic and defined a new style of manga art. Again published in Shonen Jump and aimed at a younger audience, Dragon Ball was (to say the very least) an insurmountable success. Toriyama followed up this wild tale with the intense continuation Dragon Ball Z. Whereas, the original Dragon Ball focussed on humor, DBZ concentrated on fighting and action. Sometimes, Dragon Ball is overlooked because of its perhaps inherently violent nature. People sometimes fail to recognize the intricate characterization of Toriyama's characters- who are at once, both in-depth and dynamic. Needless to say, wildly popular, the Dragon Ball saga ran for over ten years. The series, Manga and Anime are now translated throughout the world and the Dragon Ball saga is considered one of the greatest series. So great, that after Toriyama ended Dragon Ball Z, the Anime companies continued the saga with Dragon Ball GT. Toriyama didn't concoct the story, but he did do the character design. After Dragon Ball, Toriyama has since shifted into the video game industry with games such as Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest, modest successes. Toriyama lives with his family including his son and daughter, and continues working. He is the ideal hero for any artist, he has made characters precious to fans and has changed the face of the Manga world.

COWBOY BEBOP GENERAL SERIES CRITIQUE (MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS)

Cowboy bebop a series about a bunch of bounty hunters that travel through out space looking for bounty that will put food on their tables. Spike Spiegel, a cool and self-possessed cowboy, that tries to hide his past as an ex-member of the red dragons mafia to live a free life. Jet Black, an ex-member of the ISSP, is Spike's partner in their job bounty hunters. He's the owner of the bebop, the ship and home they use in their adventure, and he's also the voice of reason among the five. Faye Valentine, Spike's and Jet's self-proclaimed partner, is an audacious and fearless egoist who always seems to get out of any situation. Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky the 4th, an unpredictable and fearless hacker 13 year old girl, tricks the crew of the bebop into allowing her to become a member. And lastly, Ein, an illegal data-dog developed by a certain research group, is yet another member of the bebop's crew. Although he seems like nothing more than a pet to everyone he actually possesses an amazing intellect that allows him the utilization of phones and computers.

The series are composed by 26 sessions of 25 min. each. In the original television run of Cowboy Bebop in the spring of 1998, only twelve of the twenty-six sessions were aired weekly on Fridays. Then, in the late fall through the winter of 1998-99, all of the sessions were aired weekly on the satellite station, WOWOW. Cowboy Bebop became one of the most popular animes of its time because it proved to be a different kind of Anime. The series had it all humor, action, deeply developed characters and was also melancholy. In the meantime it seems the company is working on the movie of which I know nothing about.

I personally always wanted to watch the series since I watched the trailer on my Endless Waltz DVD. It was the first thing I spent my pay check in. It was pretty expensive to buy the whole series, but it's worth it. I wasn't disappointed by the series and I think it will be likeable by anime and non-anime fans. While some sessions may be fast-going full of action and humor, others are truly sad and depressing. If the last session was weeping-sad I wonder how Grave of the fireflies will be. There aren't any sessions where the animation is crappy. Some sessions may seem to you as fillers, but at the end everything comes together as a whole movie. Lastly, I would say the company spent lots of money making the series so you better treat yourself by watching them
