Gatomon
An Autobiography
What do you think of Gatomon? A sweet, cute little furball, right? Wrong. Now, I'm not talking about the fact that she's positivly bloodthirsty sometimes ("It's a dog eat dog world," after all), I'm saying that she's evil. Let me guess: you're thinking, "this was made a while ago, back when Gatomon was working for Myotismon," right? Nope. I'm talking about here and now. Let me explain.
So Saban is expecting us to believe that Gatomon underwent a mystical transformation when she discovered that she was Hikari's Digimon, right? What are the odds of that happening? Also, she had a very spontaneous flashback to when she was "converted" by Myotismon. That looked rather fake to me. Isn't it far more likely that she was actually evil all along, and just lieing to Hikari and Taichi? She's certainly smart enough to be able to pull it off.
Onto the next question: why would she be evil? She gave the answer to that one herself. She grew up all alone, waiting for Hikari to arrive. Well, guess what? She never did! Gatomon eventually stumbled into her in the real world, but that was many years later, and by then she didn't care anymore. Actually, she did care. But that was not to be to the Digidestined's advantage.
Well, over the years Gatomon had changed her goals. First she had wanted to find her life-long partner. A couple of years later, and Hikari was still a no-show. So she revised her plan: Look for Hikari, and play a few pranks on her before saying hi. After a few years trying out that plan, she gave it up for a better: look for Hikari, tell her to buzz off, and go back to living a normal life.
And that didn't work, either...
One word now came to her mind when thinking about Hikari: revenge. And she was going to make sure she got it.
Now, she is biding her time, waiting for her chance to strike. Until then, she is having fun toying with the Digidestined, seeding distrust and hatred. By the time she has made her move, they will be in no shape to stop her. And when that day comes, they will realize that the common cold is something to be rightly feared.
