Ok, here's my first Duo/Serena fic, plz give me your honest opinion...

Serena let the tears flow freely down her face.

I don't love you anymore!!

Those words from her dear beloved kept on haunting her.  Oh Darien, she thought.  She then wiped away her bitter tears and brought out the Silver Imperium Crystal.  "Please, I wish that I could be taken somewhere where I could live a normal life.  Where I couldn't be hurt" she begged the crystal.  Soon, she was enveloped in a silver light, and then, she was gone.

The Perfect Love - Chapter One

"Serena!!" yelled a voice.  Serena turned to see a man in uniform.  "Huh?" wondered Serena.  "Serena, we need you to go down to the colony and recruit more volunteers for OZ" instructed the soldier. Serena then noticed she was in a uniform and that her long, golden hair was tied into a delicate braid that went down to her knees.

"Um...ok" nodded Serena.  "Good" commented the soldier, who was obviously her superior.  "Now, get into your Leo, and get going" Serena numbly nodded. She headed in the direction he pointed in.  He went through the door the door.  There, she saw a big "robot" and went into the leo's cockpit.  She looked at the controls and noticed as to how similiar they were to a video game.

"Officer Serena, are you ready to head out to the next colony?" asked her superior.  Serena nodded.  'This will be the closest I can get to obtain a normal life' she thought, as she left the hanget with four other mobile suits.

"Officer Serena, the information on Oz xhould be on the side, safely put away in your cockpit.  When we reach our carrier that will take us to the colony the rest of the way, you can print out copies to recuit more volunteers" reported her chief.

Serena nodded. "Right cheif"

"Aren't you glad to be back home Serena?" asked a fellow volunteer  "Home?" asked Serena, in surprise.  

"It's been so long that you forget that it was your home" he laughed.  

Serena then went up to change into her military uniform.  After that, she printed out the applications and forms.  Once they reached the colony, she followed the others into a huge building.

"...Together with support from OZ, we no longer fear the possibilities of an invasion.  With the help of Commander and Chief Treize Kushranada and Colonel Une, this will prove to be a new era in space..."

"What BS, it was them who inserted the fears of war in you in the first place" A boy with chestbut hair tied in a long braid said.  he wore all black and dark shades to go with his ensemble.

Serena walked over to him.  "That's not true" she objected.  The boy looked up.  "Huh?"  His sunglasses slid down to reveal his indigo eyes.  "The colonies have suffered a great deal up till now" said Serena.  In the back of her mind, she thanked her brain for telling her to read those forms.   "We're not afraid of any battles that will allow the colonies to pick themselves back up" she finished.

"Who are you?" he asked.  "I'm Serena Tsukino, I volunteered my services from this colony" she responded.  "Oh, so you're an Oz soldier..." he muttered, and spat the word OZ as if he wore talking about a monster.  "It's easy for anyone to criticize.  The work of the colonies speaks for itself.   My volunteer work at the Lunar plant demonstrate my faith in Oz.  Keep that in mind" she said.

He then looked at her and grinned.  "Is that so? Then maybe I should apply as well?" he joked.  Though, Serena brightened at his joke, for taking it for a real offer of volunterment.  She then took out a form from her folder in hand, and handed it to him.  "Huh? What's this?" he asked.

"The next military exam is in one week.  Hey, why don't you give it a try if you like" She smiled, she then turned around and continued on her way.

He then digested the information, and pushed up his shades and grinned.   "Count on it baby, I'll be there" he chuckled.

A shuttle in outer space headed to the lunar base.  "We're going to the lunar base" spoke Wufei as he tried to undo his handcuffs.  "Are they using us as test pilots for the new models?" he asked his companion.

"Who knows, maybe a target for them.  Even Oz considers us pretty liable" said Heero.  Wufei smirked.

Serena stood in the hanger near the shuttle in her space suit.  Serena looked around then recognized the guy from the other day.  He was handing his application to an officer, and snatched it back a few seconds later with a careless grin.

Serena then approached him.  "Hey you!!" she called.  "I told you that new volunteers were suppose to apply next week.  Let me have a look at your application" she requested.

"Oh this?" he questioned, back still turned away from her.  "It's all filled out.  But it's a FAKE!!" he finished with a yell as he sung his pack at Serena.  She fell at impact and winced.  "Ugh...damn you...." she muttered.

Then he went towards a leo, he elbowed the pilot who was about to enter the cock pit, took his space suit, adn started to operate the leo.

"He's taken a leo!! After him!!" yelled the cheif.  Serena then got on her feet.  "I won't let you get away..." she swore.

"Everyone stay calm! I don't wanna have to start firing this thing inside the colony!" he shouted as he left thing hanger, and into space.  Serena hurriedly went into her mobile suit and after him.

"My ultimate goal is to destroy the Lunar Base.  But, it's just too far away from here...." he comtenplated.  Suddenly, warning shots were fired at him and he turned his leo around.  "Stop right there!!" he heard through his communication link.  "It's her again!" he excalimed.    He then shot back, and Serena dodged the blast.  "If your going to retaliate, I'm going to have to kill you" she warned.

"Warning shots are meaningless for those who have never battled" he retorted.  This angered Serena more, this rebel didn't know the battles she had gone through.  "This is for the peace of the colonies!!" she yelled.   Those words hit him hard.  "Hey, wait a sec here, I'm fighting for the colonies as well" he stammered.  During his shocked period, Serena manage to knock his rifle out of his hand.  "Got him" she said, enthused.

Serena then realized that it wasn't a fair fight, she dropped her rifle as well.  "We're both fighting for the colonies, ne? So, hwo is it we've become enemies?" he asked. Serena then tried to punch.  "Pleading for your life?!" she exclaimed.  He blocked her punch, and she tried again, and he blocked that one as well.  "I'm tellin' ya, we're not enemies"

"I volunteered, adn pledged my loyalty" Serena said, then seh remebered Darien and her 'friends'.  She then added.  "I'm ready to die at anytime"

He sighed in disgust.  "You're so intense, it makes me sick" He was then shot by a carrier.  He then pushed  Serena out of harm's way.  He lost control of his mobile suit, and he was shot down.  The mobile suit lost one of it's legs and half of it's functions.

Serena's eyes began to soften.  "Officer Serena, bring him in now" ordered her superior.  Serena turned to her communication link and nodded.  "Right"

White.  That's all he saw when he came to.  But, he couldn't get up.  He was handcuffed to a chair, and he was too weak.  It seemed as if he was just hit by a tracktor trailer. He groaned as he adjusted his eyes.

"Duo Maxwell...who would have thought a boy like you was a gundam pilot.." pondered Serena.  Duo looked up at her.  "Why'd you save me?" she asked.   She then tilted her head to the side.  "I deserve to die..." she whispered, but, Duo heard her.  "Huh? What are you talking about?"

Serena turned back to look at him.  "I'm prepared to sacrifice my life.  I don't need sympathy from my enemies" she replied. "Serena? That's your name, right?  What enemies are you talking about?" questioned Duo.  Serena gasped slightly.  Duo continued.  "Since when are the colonies an organization fighting a war? The alliance came from the earth to take over the colonies, the smiles then dissappeared from their faces.  I've been fighting to give back those smiles.  But, I come back and the citizens of the colonies don't want their smiles back.  Now tell me when the colonies have ever become so twisted" he finished.  His little lecture had warmed Serena's heart, but, she then remembered he was the enemy.

"Outer Space is affected by war on earth, we can just sit back and be taken over" retorted Serena as she leveled a gun at Duo.  'I guess all those times watching papa practice shooting his shot gun will come in handy', she thought.  "This is outer space's decision" she stated finally.  "You're bravery is commendable"complimented Duo.  "So, where are we headed?" he asked.  Serena was taken aback by his compliment.  "To the Lunar Base, there you will be question amoung other things" she informed, slightly hesitant.   "Good, that'll save me a trip.  I'm going to destroy the base once I get there" said Duo

"You don't stand a chance.  I won't let you!! Why don't you consider me your enemy?!" yelled Serena in frustration.  "Hate to say it, but, you don't have the skills to be my enemy.  So it's pointless for someone like yourself to nother to challenge me" said Duo, as his indigo eyes softened.  "Y'know, you remind me of myself when I was sent to earth, your recklessness I mean" he stated.

"Don't patronize me" scowled Serena.  "We're both idiots.  A soldier could get killed at anytime.  We'll see lots of friends in the colony loose their lives.  Let's just live out our lives with the paths we've chosen.  You have to be at least that idiotic to make it as a soldier" he finished.

Serena then lowered her gun as she reflected Duo's words.  She turned, and left.

"Did he tell you anything?" asked the cheif.  Serena shook her head.  "No, not a word"  He nodded.  "I see" Serena then walked closer to him.  "Say cheif, couldn't we have just shot a warning shot back there?" she asked.   "No, we are given the orders to kill rebels when it's necessary" he replied.  "Even if it means sacrificing your own men?" questioned Serena.

He closed his laptop and stood up.  "Officer Serena, I feel bad about it, but, soldiers have to be prepared to loose their lives in order to fulfill their missions"

"We're about  to arrive at the Lunar base" informed a soldier over the intercom.  "Ok, we'll take the shuttle to Oz's military establishment and we'll drop off the prisoner" he replied.

After a few moments, the shuttle then reached some abrupt turbulance.  The laptop cracked as it made impact with the edge of the door.  "What happened?" the cheif demanded over the intercom.  "The third engine was caught on fire.  Someone onboard was responsible" came the answer.

"Oh no!! Duo!!" excalimed Serena as she ran to teh hanger.  Sure enough, Duo was jumping into the leo he had used earlier.  "Duo!!" she yelled.Duo turned to look at her.  "Hey, you're pretty fast.  You got good instincts" he complimented her again.  "Well, I'm about to blow up the hatch, so step back if you don't wanna get hurt" he finished, and then he got inside the cockpit.

"You're going to do what, Duo?" she asked in surprise.  The leo rose and a grabbed a rifle, and began to fire.  "Stop it Duo!!" Serena yelled to no avail.  With a big explosion, the hatch was open.  And so not to be sucked into space, Serena closes the entrance to the hatch.

"The mass balance device is busted. This is going to be one bumpy ride" Duo then looked at his radar as it beeped.  "Enemy mobile dolls" he mused.  Duo tried to shoot them, but they were faster.  They switched positions, and Duo fired to no avail.  "Don't move!!" he yelled as they transformed into a mobile doll (went from fighter to a mobile doll).  The three mobile dolls fired ans hit Duo four times before he was blasted to the moon's surface.

"Looks like I made it to the moon...talk about irony" he joked.  The dolls continued to attack him, until he was a piece of scrap.  The three dolls then went in for the kill.  "Hurry up and finish me off!! Even though I don't like the idea of being killed by lifeless dolls" muttered Duo.

One of the dolls that was about to finish Duo off, was shot down,  "What the?" wondered Duo.

A mobile suit leo appeared.  the mobile suits then charged at the leo, as a confirmed enemy.  "You fool! Give your code to prove your an ally!!" yelled Duo.  The mobile suit landed infront of Duo.  "I can't do that.  There's no telling who my enemies and allies are" replied Serena.  Then, she shot the door to the Lunar base open.

"Duo, hurry up and do what you got to do" she said.  "Sere, you mean that?" stammered Duo.  Serena blushed slightly at the new nickname.  She nodded.   "I've decided to live my life and believe in teh path I have chosen" she quoted.  The two dolls attacked them.  "I'm sorry Sere, but, I won't be bailing you out this time" said Duo.

"I told you, I'm prepared to die at anytime" she responded.  "Oh yeah, I remember" he muttered.  Duo then roughly  made a landing in the base doors.   "But Sere, if you're going to do it, just don't do it in vain" advised Duo.   "Oh Duo, I won't" Serena sighed and lowered her rifle.

"Serena! What are you doing?! Drop your weapon! We have a serious problem with your conduct!" yelled her cheif as he led a patch of leos.

Duo was thrown into the cell that Heero and Wufei were already in.  "You failed your mission...you couldn't destroy the base or kill Doctor J and the others" spoke Heero.  Duo smiled slightly.  "Hey, how about a little bit of sympathy?" he said.

Duo turned to Wufei.  "Yours and my gundam are being rebuilt as we speak.  I can hardly wait till their done" he spoke as he shut his eyes.  "Oz seems to be keeping up alive, so don't die yet" warned Heero.  "I have no intentions of dying this easily.  There's the colonies to fight for.  Just watch me, i'll become the God of Death once again...but right now, I need some sleep...." finished Duo as he dozed off.
