Prologue: The Message

The time is After Colony 195, Oz has completely taken over. The Gundams have been forced into hiding when OZ threatens to use the colonies as a shield.

Quatre looked up startled as Duo came into the room with a funny look on his face. "Quatre, we have just been assigned a mission." A look of confusion passed over Quatre. "What do you mean, Duo? We can't have been assigned to fight. Not with Oz threatening to use the colonies as a shield." Duo shook his head his long braid adjusting to his movements. "No, Quatre this is an odd mission. OZ has just uncovered some odd crystal. The crystal is shaped in some sort of block and Oz thinks that some sort of weapon is inside. The crystal is some weird substance and not even their most powerful microscopes can see through it for so they're going to cut it in half soon." Quatre waited for his friend to continue. "The mission is from some weird place called Crystal Tokyo. I don't know if it's a trap, but if their is a weapon inside the crystal, we can't let Oz get a hold of it."

Duo frowned slightly. "The only thing I don't like, Quatre, is we don't know if it's a trap or not." Quatre was silent for a moment as he thought. "But, Duo, if it is a weapon Oz may use it against the colonies then we would be responsible for any damage caused." Duo nodded. "We can't use our Gundams though. If Oz sees them, they'll surely attack the colonies." Quatre sighed and a saddened expression came onto his face. Duo looked out the window and sighed. "Quatre, we don't know if this is even real or not. Who knows what this Crystal Tokyo place is," he stated. "So if we take this mission, we won't be able to use our Gundams." Duo summarized. Quatre nodded. "It doesn't matter. We can't let the colonies be destroyed at any cost. They can't fight for themselves and if Oz attacked, they would be destroyed. So we have to steal this crystal from Oz and see if it is a weapon." Duo nodded reluctantly in resignation. "Alright the crystal is from an ancient town. According to the message I received the crystal has been hidden by some sort of technology and has just recently been discovered. Our mission is to get the crystal from Oz and make sure no harm comes to it. Perhaps it's a doomsday weapon?" he pondered aloud. Quatre thought for a moment before he spoke. "Duo, how did this Crystal Tokyo place contact you?" he asked. Duo looked over at Quatre for a moment. "That bugs me too, the message can't be traced to anywhere. It's like a recording and the weird thing is that it was messaged to not just me but you too." Duo grew silent as the implications of what he had said sank into the head of his Arabian friend.

"It doesn't matter where it came from, Duo. The only thing that matters is that we protect the colonies from any harm, and if this crystal is some doomsday weapon we have to keep it out of Oz's hands." Duo nodded in agreement. "Alright Quatre, I'll get to work cracking Oz's system and finding out where their hiding this crystal of theirs." Quatre nodded and watched as his friend sat down at the computer and began his task.

Duo grinned as he finally got to the information he wanted. "We're going to make it just in time, Quatre. They are planning to crack it open by late tomorrow. We have to get this thing tonight. The Oz base is 74 miles away from here and they're on maximum security. It looks like they really don't want to lose that crystal." Quatre nodded at the information. "We can borrow some Leo's from Rashid. We only need two." Quatre left to talk to Rashid leaving Duo alone. Duo turned to his computer while frowning. He quickly found the message and again scanned it hoping he may have missed something the first time around. He frowned again and began to try to trace the message.

Duo smirked as the message was finally traced. *Message received from Luna 'Advisor of the Queen of Crystal Tokyo'* Duo frowned. "Queen of Crystal Tokyo? There is not a place called Crystal Tokyo anywhere that I know of." He frowned and started a more in-depth scan. His eyes widened as the results poured in. *This message was written approximately 5,000 years ago by Luna* Duo frowned. "This can't be right." he argued to his self. He banged his fist on the computer startling Quatre who had returned. "Everything's ready, Duo. Is something wrong?" he asked. Duo looked up. "All of my readings say this message came from advisor of a Queen from Crystal Tokyo 5,000 years ago. How would someone know our names from back then, it has to be a trap." Quatre studied Duo for a moment. "Why would Oz leave such an unbelievable trail if it was a trap, wouldn't they leave something a lot easier to believe?" he asked. Duo listened to his friend and nodded at his words. "You know you're right, Quatre. Let's get this crystal and get some answers."
