Did Somebody Ask For Cake?

Yama: *picks up the cordless next to him and rings Tai's cell phone* RING RING
Tai: *picks up cell phone* moshi moshi?
Yama: *is breathing deeply* Tai... get home now.
Tai: *slides drink down the bar to customer* Why?
Yama: It's time.
Tai: *is confused* time for what?
Yama: The baby... I'm in labor koi
Tai: *drops liquor bottle* omg...I値l be right there! don't move! *hops over bar and runs out to parking lot*
Yama: That's easier said than done
Tai: *starts car* now remember to breathe koi
Yama: *breathing quickens* It hurts Tai...
Tai: *voice softens immensely* i know koi...just hang in there I値l be there soon!
Yama: Alright... ok...
Tai: *makes an abrupt stop* KUSO!!
Yama: What just happened?
Tai: sorry koi i missed my turn for our street I知 almost there
Yama: *nods* Ok... just hurry
Tai: *screeches into drive way and makes a mad dash for the front door* Almost there! *bursts into house* where are you?
Yama: Bedroom
Tai: *dashes into bedroom and clicks off phone* Koi!!! *runs to Yama's side*
Yama: *hangs the phone up* We have to go now, the baby has to be taken out
Tai: can you stand? or do you want me to carry you?
Yama: *shakes his head* No... you can't carry me, I'll walk *pushes himself to his feet*
Tai: *hangs onto Yamato as he gets to his feet* careful
Yama: *nods as he starts to head out*
Tai: *helps Yamato into passenger side of car before getting into driver seat* should we call Jyou?
Yama: I-I don't know
Tai: we should probably warn him so he knows we're on our way
Yama: *nods*
Tai: *dials Jyou's number and quickly tells them their on their way*
Yama: *squeezes his eyes shut* I'm never having another baby again
Tai: *reaches over and squeezes Yama's hand encouragingly* its okay Yama your doing great! *makes sharp turn into hospital*
Yama: *squeezes the armrest as another contraction comes* Kuso, kuso, kuso, kuso!
Tai: Yama...do you really want your child to know that word? *asks jokingly as he opens passenger side*
Yama: I don't really give a flying fuck right now!
Tai: *raises eyebrows in surprise* whatever you say koi *helps him into wheel chair a nurse brought out*
Yama: Let's just get the baby out... this is really hurting
Tai: it'll all be over soon.
Nurse: please wait out here until you put these on *hands Tai hospital scrubs*
Tai: I値l be back in minute koi be brave
Yama: *nods as he wheeled away*
Tai: *calls pplz as he throws on hospital gown thingy, little booties, and tugs and tugs trying to get hat thingy on, and puts on mask before rushing into delivery room* how you doing koi? did the epidermal help? *holds Yamato's hand*
Yama: *grins* Yup, I can't feel anything from my chest and down!
Tai: *grins though u can't see from mask* That's good. what's with the curtain thingy over your stomach?
Yama: So I can't see when they do the C-section
Tai: oh..well I知 sure its not that bad *looks behind curtain* oh my... *faints*
Yama: Tai!
Jyou: don't worry he'll be okay.
Nurse: *waves one of those smelly things under his nose*
Tai: *coughs and murmurs* mom are you cooking again? *opens eyes and gets to feet after realizing where he is* sorry koi *sits beside Yama's head*
Yama: *smiles softly as he takes Tai's hand in his own* Did it really look that bad?
Tai: *squeezes hand* No just really strange... *shudders*
Yama: You shouldn't have looked in the first place. Serves you right
Tai: Yeah I know... *here's baby cry*
Yama: *looks up at Tai with shining eyes* Is that our baby crying?
Tai: *looks down at Yama grinning* Yeah that's our baby!
Yama: *smiles and he squeezes Tai's hand tightly*
Tai: *kisses Yama on lips* be right back *looks over curtain to see their baby. He fills up with joy and slides out of the delivery room* I have a kid!!
Mrs. Y: *stands up and hugs her son* Well, how does it look?
Tai: *hugs back* well its slimy, its purple, and it has a hose!
Mrs. Y: Honey, they haven't cleaned it yet... is it a boy or a girl?
Tai: *looks thoughtful* umm...I don't know, be right back *slides back into delivery room and rushes over to where the nurses had his kid, and was offered to cut the umbilical cord before rushing back to everyone in the waiting room* I have a daughter!!
Mrs. Y: I'm finally a grandmother!
Ken: How's Yamato-san doing?
Tai: umm not too bad he did quite well.
Dai: So what's it like being a dad Tai?
Tai: so far pretty good. though its only been two minutes.
Mrs. Y: He'll know when he holds the baby... I know from experience
Tai: i haven't done that yet! i gotta go do that. see ya all in a few gotta get back to my family...hee hee i have a family! cool! *rushes back to Yamato and his little girl*
Yama: *has the baby cradled in his arms, a soft pale pink blanket wrapped around her. One finger delicately runs down her tiny hand and his eyes are full of love and happiness at the birth of his little girl*
Tai: *sits beside them smiling down with pride and joy for both his koi and the little miracle they made* she's so beautiful... *kisses Yama deeply then kisses top of her head*
Yama: Ya, she is. *watches as the baby opens her eyes, which are the exact same colour as Yama's*
Tai: *gets all chibi eyed* aww she has your eyes!!
Yama: *nods* Looks like you got your wish
Tai: looks like you got yours too!
Yama: I told you it was going to be a girl
Tai: yes yes you did
Yama: She needs a name still
Tai: *softly tickles baby* yes you do...yes you need a name... coochie coochie coo... *baby smiles and makes noise* kee...kee!
Yama: Keeki?
Yama: *looks up at Tai* That's a kawaii name
Tai: *looks at Yamato and smiles* it is! I think it suits her quite well!
Yama: Keeki Ishigami it is then.
Tai: My Angels!
Yama: *leans up and kisses Tai's chin*
Tai: *kisses Yama's and Keeki's head* how about a pic?
Yama: Do you even have a camera?
Tai: Yep! *smiles and holds up Kari's camera* Kari let me borrow it before i came back in
Yama: Alright then
Tai: *backs up and focuses the camera* smile!
Yama: *smiles as he tickles the baby under the chin causing her to smile also, her blue eyes open wide*
Tai: *snaps a couple of pictures* Awww you guys look so adorable!
Yama: C'mere and let me see
Tai: ok *hands Yamato digital camera*
Yama: Ugh, my hair looks awful!
Tai: No it doesn't! You look beautiful just like our little one
Yama: She is beautiful... *runs his hand over the baby's small head*
Tai: 8 pounds 3 ounces...all ours for the taking *runs finger over Keeki's hand which she latches onto*
Yama: I'm guessing she likes her daddy.
Yama: Have you told your Okaasan yet?
Tai: I told her she had a granddaughter. And that Kari and TK had a niece. Everyone's ecstatic!
Yama: *grins* That's good. Who's out there?
Tai: Basically the whole gang is out there, plus my mom. I left a message for everyone else
Yama: Why don't you go show them the pictures? I'm sure they'd love to see Keeki.
Tai: Okay, I値l be back in a minute *walks into waiting room* Hey guys!
Mrs. Y: How is everything?
Dai: Do you feel like an Otousan yet?
Tai: Everything is great. *laughs* Yeah I guess I do Daisuke, I guess I do. Here take a look *hands his Okaasan the camera*
Mrs Y: She looks so precious! *coos over the pictures*
Tai: Yep that's my girl! *grins proudly*
Kari: Here Onii-san *hands Tai a small stuffed white kitty cat* It's for the baby
Ken: Did you and Yamato choose a name yet?
Tai: Aww thanks Kari that's so sweet. Actually she kind of picked it for herself. She is now officially Keeki Ishigami!
Tk: What do you mean she picked it for herself?
Tai: *shrugs* she sorta made that sound when i tickled her.
Miya: *peers over Mrs. Y's shoulder* Aww! She's so cute!
Dai: Maybe she just wanted some cake
Tai: *ignores Daisuke痴 odd comment* You guys will be able to see her and Yamato soon. The doctor just wants to make sure everything's okay with them first.
Mrs. Y: Yamato's father called, he said he had to pick something up and then he'd be here
Tai: Did he? Okay. I'm sure Yama will want to see him.
Tk: He sounded really excited, I wonder what he's bringing though.
Tai: I really don't have the slightest clue.
Mrs. Y: Your father called to Taichi, he said it's going to take him awhile because he took the subway to work this morning, so he'll be here in a bit
Tai: Oh yeah I forgot...*smile fades* do you think he'll like her mom?
Mrs. Y: I'm sure he'll love her when he sees her... just give him some time
Tai: *sighs* I hope so...
Kari: *rubs Tai's back* Don't worry Onii-san. Just think of your new baby, you should be happy
Tai: *half smiles* thanks Kari *smirks* If I can ever tear her away from Yama
Tk: I'm guessing he hasn't let you hold her yet?
Tai: Nope not yet
Tk: Did you even ask?
Tai: Nah...he looked so content holding her I didn't want to ruin the moment
Tk: *nods* Well he'd better let go of her when I get in there. I want to hold my niece for at least a few seconds
Tai: *chuckles* you'll all get a turn! But I知 first, i am the father after all!!
Tk: Technically you're only one of them
Mr. I: *comes through the doors holding a dozen light pink balloons that say 'It's a Girl!' and a large stuffed panda bear with a red bow tied around its neck*
Tai: true! *ruffles Tk's hair before noticing Mr Ishida* Hey Mr. Ishida!
Mr. I: *huge grin* Where's my lil granddaughter?
Tai: *grins* Right this way! *leads Mr. I to Yamato's room, and pokes his head in* You've got a visitor who's very anxious to see our little girl
Yama: *looks up* Who is it?
Tai: *nods to Mr. I to go inside*
Mr. I: *walks into the room and ties the balloon to the end of the bed and places the bear on the floor by the front of the bed and gives his son a hug before gently touching the baby's head* She's beautiful Yamato, you and Taichi did a good job. *smiles*
Yama: *smiles up at his Otousan* Thanks Dad.
Mrs. Y: *pokes her head into the room* When's it the rest of our turns?
Tai: Come on in, ain't nobody here but us
Mr. I: *gets his finger latched onto by the little girl* She's got quite a grip
Mrs.Y: *walks into the room and stands on the other side of the bed* She's even better in person, look at those large blue eyes. Can I hold her?
Yama: Actually, I think Taichi was next in line
Tai: *lifts his head eyes sparkling wildly* Aw c'mere sweety *gently takes Keeki from Yamato's arms*
Dai: Aww! Look at the lil baby... she doesn't look like cake to me.
Miya: *rolls eyes* of course not Daisuke it痴 a baby not food!
Dai: But the the name Keeki means Cake
Tai: That's cuz she's sweet as sugar *cradles Keeki in his arms while she sucks on her fist*
Dai: Now that you've held her... do you feel like a father?
Tk: Why do you keep asking that Dai-kun
Dai: *shrugs* I'm just curious
Tai: As a matter of fact Dai-chan I do feel like one now
Dai: How does it feel?
Tai: Quite interesting...its like I never want to let her go
Tk: But I haven't had my turn yet!
Tai: Sorry TK but my mom was next... *hands Keeki to Mrs. Y*
Mrs. Y: *coos* Aren't you a pretty lil baby... yes you are! yes you are!
Mr Y: *suddenly bursts through the doors of Yamato's room all out of breath*
Mr. I: *pats Mr. Y on the back* Congradulations, your a grandfather!
Mr Y: thanks! *walks over to Mrs. Y and peers down at his granddaughter. Smiling he looks up at Taichi and Yamato* She's beautiful guys *gently he kisses her forehead*
Yama: Arigatou Mr. Yagami
Tai: Yeah thanks dad
Mr. Y: *gently stroked his granddaughter's head* what's her name?
Mr. I: Keeki
Mr. Y: as in cake? *chuckles* sweet as sugar she is! congratulations guys I知 proud of you! *hugs Taichi and shakes Yamato's hand*
Yama: *smiles* Thanks
Tai: Thanks dad.
Dai: So Yama where's your mom? shouldn't she be here?
Miya: *elbows Dai in the arm* Shhh!
Yama: *frowns and bites his lip* I don't think she'll be coming
Dai: *rubs arm* why not? you'd think she'd want to see her grandchild
Miya: *clenches teeth* davis I知 warning u!
Yama: You'd think that, but it doesn't make it true Dai-kun
Tai: I'm sure she'll come around sooner or later
Yama: Maybe
Nurse: *walks in with bottle* sorry to interrupt but I just wanted to drop this off. *puts bottle down on table and leaves*
Yama: I wanna feed her!
Tai: No I do!!
Yama: No, I'm going to
Tai: no i am!
Mrs. Y: *takes bottle and starts feeding Keeki*
Yama: *looks at Mrs.Y* Hey!
Tai: *whines* mooooom!
Mrs. Y: sorry guys but you gotta learn to quit arguing and just do it!
Yama: I can't get up though, how could I get her? *pouts*
Mrs. Y: you could have grabbed the bottle though *holds bottle up so Keeki can have better access to the milk*
Yama: Aww c'mon, I want a turn Mrs. Yagami. She came out of me.
Mr.Y: don't worry Yamato you'll get her for the next 300 or so feedings. Especially the 3am ones! *smirks*
Yama: But I wanted to be the first to feed her... Tai can do the 3am feedings
Tai: sorry i work then remember?
Yama: Guess that means no sleep for me for quite a while eh?
Mrs. Y: *smiles knowingly* you'll get used to it...then before you know it they sleep right through it
Yama: That's good
Mrs Y: *puts down the bottle as Keeki drains it, than holds her to her shoulder and burps her*
Yama: *watches Mrs. Y, a small smile on his face*
Dai: may I hold her?
Mrs. Y: sure you can Daisuke *hands Keeki to Dai*
Mr. I: Now be careful Daisuke. Don't hurt her
Dai: *holds Keeki under arms* I値l be careful *smiles before Keeki spits up all over his shirt* EWWWWW *hands baby to Mr. I*
Mr. I: *laughs and holds her closely*
Mrs. Y: here Daisuke *hands him a cloth she held under water*
Dai: Ick!! baby spit! *wipes shirt*
TK: *pokes Dai and laughs* You got spit on!
Dai: Hey it could have been u! *throws cloth at him*
Tk: No, she actually likes me
Mr. I: Well Takeru, do you want to hold her?
Tk: Hai! *takes the small bundle from Mr. I's arms* See Daisuke, she likes me
Dai: *Keeki spittles on TK* suuuuuure she does!
Tk: Ewww! *Keeki starts to cry* Uh oh.
Tai: give her here! *takes Keeki and hands her to Yamato*
Yama: *takes Keeki and starts to rock her gently* Shhh baby. There's no need to cry... Daddy's here now... shhh... *kisses her forehead* It's ok, it's ok. *Keeki stops crying*
Tai: *smiles down at them beaming with pride!*
Mrs.Y: come on children lets leave them for a bit *ushers them out the door*
Mr. I: Hai, everybody out!
Tai: *sits on edge of bed and wraps arm around Yama and the baby* i can't wait to get her home!
Yama: *smiles up at his koi* Yeah, me too. I hope she likes her room
Tai: *thinks of all the toys, and winnie the pooh stuff* I知 sure she's gonna love it! Hell i love it!
Yama: *nods* How soon do you think we'll be let out?
Tai: probably tomorrow at the latest
Yama: That's good
Yama: *sighs*
Tai: what's up? you tired?
Yama: Well ya... but that's not it
Tai: well what is it? *is concerned*
Yama: How come your Otousan showed up... but my Okaasan didn't? They both felt the same way but it looks like your father was able to cope with it... and mine still hasn't
Tai: aw koi don't you worry about a thing. I'm sure she's just busy and hasn't gotten my message yet. She'll love Keeki! *hugs him reassuringly*
Yama: *sighs* If you say so
Tai: Don't worry. She'll come around sooner or later *kisses his forehead*
