Omakeni: To Make Matters Worse
Hello, and welcome to Omakeni. Omakeni is a phrase meaning "to make matter worse." Fitting, ne? We don't quite know what the point of this is, but, then again, pointlessness is next to godliness here at BHFS. Just a place to vent and rant and speak or random things that don't belong on the homepage to avoid scaring off first-time visitors... OK, yeeeeeessss....

Eeee! It's snowing where I am! Eeeeeeeee! So happy. It's just lovely. Happy, happy. Then again, I'm not outside, and that's probably the deciding factor. Heheh. Yep.

So. I have fallen in love with Blade of the Immortal. It's just so incredibly byooo-teee-full. I wish I could draw like Samura... But that's kinda like saying you wish you could write like Tolstoy, or something... ::Faints.:: Oh, so amazing. The plot's awesome, too. Oh, and all the sexy women (not to mention the guys!) don't hurt either. (I have such a crush on Hyakurin... ::Snort.::) Let's see, speaking of beautiful women and mind-blowing plots... Utena. The one that every shojo fan knows. I love it. So much! I think the movie's pretty darn cool, although the series is great... Maybe it's just the added bonus of all that lesbianism. ::Grin.:: You know me... (Or do you...? ::Twitch.:: And the room goes silent.)
Additionally. Another reccomendation... I just started reading this rocking little book by a fellow named Isaac Adamson. It's called Hokkaido Popsicle, and it's sorta like Aimee Bender does Japan, with a a bad detective story twist. For more info, visit www.billychaka.com - It's a pretty, little (very red! I love it! It reminds me of my new favorite nailpolish colour ::Giggle.::) promotional-type site. Read up on the books (there's another Billy Chaka novel that preceeds Hokkaido Popsicle that I couldn't find at the library... Mou.)
One last Public Service announcement. Yuricon!!! Now, I know this is a mostly-yaoi site (although I do not in any way discrinimate against straight and lesbian fan works - Actually, I'm a big freak for all three genres), but I have to post a link to this group's site. Yuricon/Anilesbocon is a group for the promotion/education/et cetera of/about lesbianism in anime and manga. They're building up to an actual con in New Jersey in '03, which you'd better believe I will go to the ends of the earth to attend. So. Visit the Yuricon website!!! OK, I'm done now.

I feel achey today.
I must be on a roll, because I wrote up another damn rant today. This one, however, felt too long to take up space on this stupid page. Besides, I'm also considering expanding it, so that it sorta becomes an weekly feature. Although I'm not sure what the point would be. Anyhow, check out Yaeko's Writing Rant for an extra dose of my insanity.
OK, rant-ish time... More like rambling, I guess. (WARNING: Yaeko will now procede to get incoherent... If you're lucky.)
One of the things I really love about Gundam Wing fandom is how varied the fanfiction is. You get H-rated stuff, sweet stuff, straight fics, yaoi fics, scary stuff, funny stuff, Gundam Wing fandom just runs the gammut. (Gameru? Gamul? Huh?) Anyhow, the point is, I love that Gundam stuff is so varied. Needless to say, GW is really friggin' popular, so all different types of people are writing all different types of fics. I wish I could see a little bit more variety in Bakuretsu Hunters fanfiction. The predominant amount of BH stuff is either yaoi Gaterron fics (either lemony or shonen-ai-angsty stuff), or it's of the Marron-is-NOT-Gay faction, where they set Marron up with someone (original character or real cast member). I'm not sure why this is, and I don't even mind, but I'd love to see more diverse BH fics... Adiemus, by Nora, really awed me because it was different from most of the fics - more involved and epic, I guess. I'd freak out if I saw something like Katsu no Miko's Acherontia Atropos, or Spooks' Asylum in BH fandom. (Freak out in a good way.) I'm not sure why people feel obligated to stick to rather simmilar fic lines, and, once again, I don't even really mind... But if you've ever read Funimation Takes Over Sorcerer Hunters, you'll understand what I mean when I say that I love a breath of fresh air. That's why I enjoy Kloot-chan's humour fics, or Fala's humour stuff... I'm not terribly funny (beyond physical, 'you're a klutz' humour), so I tend to wander more in the horror, trippy-shit direction... Anyway... That's about all I have to say, really. If anyone has something earth-shattering... Well... Let me know!

Alright, you might have noticed that I mentioned "MiKo" somewhere above. If you're wondering what this is, well, you should be. I shall explain... I am the MiKo no Miko, or Preistess of MiKo. MiKo is the fancy-dancy way of saying Mille Feuille x Nuriko (of Fushigi Yuugi). Yes, it's true. My little muse is dating the purple-haired cross-dresser. (Ha. I wish.) It's tres cute, although, it is only in my head. Anyway, I am the preistess of their "shippyness." Yes. I am weird. I've been working on my weird-ass comic strip, I Hate People. Maybe someday, there will be some of it posted somewhere on the internet, but not today, and maybe not ever. Fala wants to make a lamp out of the main character...
