Mille Feuille's Recipes
Hello, Darlings, it's me, Mille Feuille, your favorite Haz Knight! Ever wonder how a fantastic guy like me got his name? Well, I can tell you, I got it from an equally fantastic dessert. (Of course, I'm a bit partial.) Actually, Milles Feuilles isn't just a dessert... It's also made with cheese, or sometimes fish.
Most often, however, my namesake is a tasty little cake with creme layered between layers of this pastry. Sometimes, there's jam involved, and, hey... That sounded a bit dirty, didn't it? You'll often see Milles Feuilles topped with strawberries and whipped cream... They say strawberries are an aphrodesiac, and I'd have to say it fits...
The name "Milles Feuilles" is French and means, technically, "thousands of leaves." However, it can also be translated as "many layers," and I happen to prefer this translation, seeing as it fits my personality better than something about leaves. (Ever noticed how serious I am if I need to be?)
Anyway... Compiled here, by the grace of Yaeko-chan, are numerous recipes for Milles Feuilles as a dessert. Nummy!
Mille Feuille of Honey and Apple Sorbet This is a yummy-sounding fruit version of Milles Feuilles. Who doesn't like apples? Almost as good as cherries... ::snicker:: Itai! Yaeko's boffing me for that one, so... uh... next link!!!
Mock Mille Feuille I can't understand why anyone would want to mock me, but... ::looking at link:: Oh! Anyway, this is a quickie (who says doing things quickly is such a bad thing?) using graham crackers. The folks at this site don't seem too hot on this recipe, but, if you're like many people and you don't can't cook, it might be worth a look-see.
Chocolate Mille-Feuille What could be better than Chocolate and Milphey-Yu together? Well, it would be best is i could get the whole team in bed, but... Er, anyway... This recipe is actually really schmancy and involved, so, if any of you good chefs out there want to attempt it, do tell me how it goes. Yaeko-chan won't do it: she's afraid of anything that involves more than a microwave in its cooking directions.
Lady Godiva's White Chocolate Mille-Feuille Mmmm... Naked lady on a horse... I mean... Uh... Oh, whatever... Godiva chocolates are top-quality Earth candy, so I guess this recipe should be good enough. White chocolate... You either love it, or you hate it... Hmmm...
Mille-Feuilles au Chocolat et Sojasun aux Cerises Look out, this one's in French! It's fairly simple to translate with Babelfish, but the recipe is rather un-helpful, even in English. Basically, Yaeko-chan and I uncluded this one 'cause it's another way Milles Feuilles can be served: Chocolate discs with cherry creme in between. Yaeko says she's had these, and that they're very good.
I hope you found something that suits your fancy... I know I cetainly did... ::munches on some of those chocolate-cherry Milles Feuilles:: Hey, what can I say, I enjoy my company...
