Episode 6

Ami watched the tracker carefully as the rest of the senshi stood anxiously around her. “What time is it?” Haruka asked. “About 7:30.” Setsuna glanced at her wristwatch. Everyone, especially Haruka was extremely jumpy. Anxiety rose in the group of girls gathered in the park. Orange, red, and pink hues floated faintly among the clouds. Soon, darkness was approaching, and the sky turned into a steely dark blue. “8:35...ten more minutes...” “Finally!” Haruka exclaimed as she jumped when she heard Ami’s voice. “Ok...Silver Crystal Moon Power!” Silver ribbons wrapped around Usagi, head to toe, and clothed her in a magnificent gown of white and silver. She had a long bow of pearly white satin in the back of her dress, and the dress came above her knees, and her lower legs and feet were in pearl and silver boots. In the center of her chest lay a silver emblem of the moon. Shimmering silver dust rained down on her head and materialized into a silver tiara with a large diamond set in the center. Moon dust collected inside the diamond, and a final stream of energy sealed it into place. Sailor Moon’s eyes fluttered open and she smiled at everyone. “Ice Planet Empower!” Liquid ice rose out of the ground and enveloped Ami. It solidified, then shattered, the flying shard of cold ice attaching itself to Sailor Mercury’s body and creating her sailor uniform. A halo of powdered ice remained above her head and as she lifted her head, it rested upon her forehead and transformed into a blue-tinted silver tiara, ice contained by a sapphire in the center. “Fire planet Empower!” Flames rushed towards Rei, the air around her caught on fire, and the flamed twisted and writhed around her body to form her Sailor fuku and boots. Embers rose in the air, a faint orange glow turned brighter and brighter and more embers gathered in Rei’s head. Made of fiery silver and a ruby encased flame, it set itself neatly on Sailor Mars’ forehead. “Love Planet Empower!” Yellow energy flowered around Minako’s legs and shot upwards, covering her whole body. The bulk of energy broke into tiny hears and covered her skin, molding into a tight top with a yellow-orange collar and skirt. Ribbons tied itself on her chest and back, long strands swaying gracefully in the night breeze. She held out her hand, and a ring of yellow formed out of energy. As the light gradually faded, a tiara, yellow-hued and a topaz filled with love was revealed. Minako threw it into the air, and it landed smoothly on her head. “Thunder Planet Empower!” Crackling lighting shot through the trees and lit up the dark sky around the senshi. The lightning started back down and fell all around Makoto, who welcomed the lighting with open arms. Thunder boomed as sparks flew around her, twirling and dancing through the wind. As the light died down, Sailor Jupiter stepped out, glowing with pure white energy. Green light poured down upon her face and rushed to her forehead, where a tiara was formed. The sparks soared into the emerald that took in all of the sparks and energy. “Time Planet Empower!” The mass around them turned pitch black, and Setsuna was warped into her own, distant dimension, where she was clothed by blackness and pure darkness. When she stepped into reality once again, she had a dark green skirt and collar accompanied by a green bow on her chest and back, like the rest of the senshi. In her hand, she grasped a long rod-like stick, holding the Garnet Orb at its end. She held it to the sky, and said a few silent words. Spiraling energy came down over her head and body, forming the mark of Saturn on her chest and creating her boots. “Sky Planet Empower!” The sky above Haruka twisted, and a mixture of clouds and dark blue shot down from the heavens. Clouds separated and make her top, and the blue sky created her skirt, bows, and collar. The sky faded, and the clouds disintegrated, leaving only the essence of a sky blue aura. The aura shone brightly all around Sailor Uranus, marking her chest with the sign of Uranus. Boots also took shape around her feet, and worked its way up her legs until they were almost up to her knees. From her side, she unsheathed a deadly sword and held it out in front of her. “Death Planet Empower!” Darkness swirled around Hotaru, blinding the senshi. The complete darkness surrounded her, sticking to her body, creating her sailor outfit of a white top and deep purple bows and skirt. She reached out her hand, and from out of nowhere, the Silence Glaive formed in her hand. Hotaru grabbed it and twirled it above her head, her reflection flying in and out of the death-sharp blade of the Glaive. The blade seemed to burn the air it touched, and it turned purple, writing the sign of Pluto on her chest and creating her boots. “We’re back!!” Sailor Moon yelled into the vast sky. “8:40” Sailor Mercury said. “Come on...two more minutes...” Sailor Uranus paced the floor. “41...” “Get ready...” They senshi formed a circle and closed their eyes, except Ami, who had to keep an eye on the time. “42!!! Let’s go!!” Ami yelled at the top of her lungs. In less than a second, they whole group cried out in unison, “Sailor Teleport!” A giant bubble lifted them off the ground and swiftly took them into the sky. Once inside the bubble, Ami pulled down her visor. She looked upward and scanned the sky. “Ok...I see ya...” She swerved the bubble to meet the black vessel. “Whoa...what the heck? It’s slowing down.” she thought. Quickly, she maneuvered the senshi back to the vessel, and landed on the top of it. When they got out of the bubble, they found that it was not a vessel, but a large meteor-type mechanical rock controlled by an immense amount of gears and machinery inside the rock. “Wow...” Minako gasped at the immense dark rock that seemed to go on for miles. “What the hell is this place?” Rei whispered in awe. Usagi felt a shiver go up her spine. Hotaru was fascinated and stared at her surroundings. “Where do we start?” Haruka asked Ami. “Hold on.” She looked around her with her visor over her eyes. “They should be....right there.” She noticed two infrared objects moving around about a quarter mile to the west of them. “And we have to walk?” Usagi complained. “We can’t afford to lose any more energy.” Ami replied. “Walking takes energy...” Usagi mumbled as she started walking west. After about five minutes of walking, they reached the point where the visor showed the infrared signals. “How do we get down?” Rei asked. “Drill?” Makoto suggested as she got down on her hands and knees to examine the ground for cracks or doors. “Makoto move for a sec.” Sailor Mercury motioned to her and she stood and walked away. “That’s the weak spot. We’re gonna have to blast in.” Sailor Mercury told them. “So much for a surprise attack...” Haruka said. “Stand back everyone!” Sailor Moon yelled. All eight sailor senshi took a few steps back, and Usagi blasted the spot with a silver beam of light that shot out from her hand and into the ground which seemed to absorb it. A silver circle remained on the ground, and then blasted with a great boom. Debris and rocks came showering down on the girls along with dust and pebbles. “Cough, cough...” “Oh....whoa....” Minako covered her mouth as she looked down into the dark abyss below them. “We have to get down there...?” Rei gulped. “Let’s go together...” Usagi suggested. They all grabbed onto the edges of the basted rock and hung by only the strength of their arms, their legs dangling in midair. “1...2...3!” All hands let loose, and the girls were falling at incredible speeds downwards. They seemed to fall forever until they heard thuds as they bumped along the floor. Arms and legs collided and tangled as the girls landed in a heap on the smooth black glass floor. The ceiling was high and also made of opaque black glass. Long hallways extended in each direction as long as they could see. “Where do we start? There’s so many hallways, and they all look alike!” Makoto asked Usagi. “Well, I guess we can just try this one first...” she answered. “Or...Ami! Use your visor to see where they are. Then maybe we can see which hallway to take” Ami pulled down her visor again and looked all around her. “Nothing’s showing up...” She changed a few settings on her visor, but it failed to respond. “It’s not working! I can’t use the visor in here.” Ami hung her head. “Then does that mean we all can’t use our powers??” Usagi asked frantically. She looked up and saw the sky in all its star spotted majesty. She shot a small beam of energy towards the sky and luckily it was functional. Everyone sighed a sigh of relief. “I guess we’re just gonna have to try them all” Minako said, rolling her eyes. “Maybe if we split up we can find the right one faster” Makoto suggested. “No. We have to stay together. Remember what Guardian told us??” Ami reminded her. “Oh. Right.” They started down the first hallway, but a room or entrance could not be spotted for hours. “We’ve been walking forever. What the hell is this?!” “There’s nothing but halls in this damn place!” The reluctant senshi kept trudging along at a slow pace until they heard voices coming from the wall next to them. A male and a female were conversing. “We will take them by surprise” “Good idea. When do we attack?” “Tonight.” The conversation stopped and was replaced by giggles and demonic laughter. “That voice...” Sailor Moon whispered. “Michiru...” Haruka grimaced. “Watch out.” Haruka whispered loudly as she gestured for everyone to step back. She concentrated on the spot in the wall where she had heard the voices and blasted a few attacks to the wall which gave way and crumbled before her. The dust settled and exposed Michiru and Hani laughing together in a room. “What the...” Hani growled and looked behind him. When we turned around he was met by four knuckles flying towards his face. Haruka stood triumphantly above him as he clutched his face. She looked towards Michiru who only glared at her. “Michiru! It’s me! We’re here to rescue you!” She told her. “What are you talking about...Hani’s the one who rescued me from you bitches. I trusted you and all you did was betray me again and again.” “Huh? But...” Haruka’s face openly showed hurt and fear. Michiru got up and her dress flowed gracefully around her feet as she walked towards the other senshi. Her dress was of ebony colored silk that was slit high and exposed her right thigh when she walked. “I actually trusted you...” She laughed inhuman laughter. “But I knew I’d get my revenge. I’ll never let you triumph again.” She started to gather a ball of aqua energy in her hands. “Michiru, stop.” Usagi said calmly. “Stop what?” “What you’re doing right now. You want to kill us don’t you? But why? What did we do?” “You know what you did.” “No, we don’t” “Bitch, don’t try to mess with my head. I know you did me wrong and I’m going to get you back for it.” The ball in her hands grew larger with every word they exchanged. She extended her hand and aimed at Sailor Moon who stood fixed in her place, eyes wide and dumbfounded. “No!” Haruka screamed and her elbow met Michiru’s back and Michiru fell over, coughing. The ball of energy missed the senshi and hit the floor, reflected off it and shot upwards into the ceiling where it disintegrated. As Michiru lay on the floor, coughing and spluttering, Haruka took her face into her hands and looked into her eyes. “Michiru, this is not you...The Michiru I knew was loving and kind, but you’re just insane now. I don’t know you anymore.” Haruka’s eyes teared as she spoke those cold, hard words to her former lover. Michiru’s hand came up and slapped Haruka on the cheek. “Idiot.” Michiru got up slowly, keeping her eyes on Haruka who was still crying and her gaze locked on Michiru. Her cheek stung and turned bright red, but the hurt in her heart was much more painful as she realized now that Michiru would have to be destroyed as well as Hani. Hani stirred and opened his eyes. He saw two figures: one in a black dress, and the other crouching at her side. His vision blurred, then cleared. Rubbing the side of his head, he stood and boldly confronted the senshi. “I see you have already met my princess.” He kicked Haruka away and stood by Michiru’s side and put an arm around her waist. “That’s not your princess. She’s the princess of Neptune.” Sailor Moon glared at Hani who merely laughed, “Oh, really?” Usagi turned bright red and she could feel the anger welling up in her heart. Hani leaned over and kissed Michiru on the cheek, and she smiled. Haruka’s eyes shot towards Hani and she sent an attack flying at his head. Quickly, he bent over to kiss Michiru’s hand, and the ball of golden energy sailed over his head. Usagi had to think quickly. How could they kill Hani without killing Michiru? She had to separate them, but how? She looked at Ami pleadingly to think of some idea to get them apart. Ami understood what Sailor Moon wanted and tried to think of some act or attack that could separate them. Sailor Mercury looked towards Sailor Mars who was also thinking the same thing. Sailor Mars nodded subtly at Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury. She started running towards the wall closest to Hani and when she neared it, she jumped into the air, launched off of the wall with a powerful kick and landed an impressive flying side kick into Hani’s chest. The wind was knocked out of him, and he fell backwards onto the ground. Quickly, Rei grabbed Michiru’s arm and swung her across the room, and she tripped and fell halfway across the large room. “Nice.” Sailor Mercury complemented Rei on her martial arts. Michiru sat, stunned at what had just happened. It had all happened so quickly she did not know what to think. “Time cessation!” Setsuna cried, and black and green streams of energy traveled towards Michiru. Michiru looked up and saw the energy gliding in the air only a few feet away, and scrambled out of the way, but the energy still followed her until it was inches from her face. It stopped, and spread in all directions until it was the size of her whole body. It spread backwards, then finally back down to encase Michiru in a box of energy where time was stopped. Michiru was frozen in time until she was freed. Now the senshi’s only worry was Hani, who was slowly regaining his strength. “Get him before he can recover!” Ami yelled at the senshi. “Blizzard Blinding!” Sailor Mercury shouted, and ice and snow came rushing towards Hani. The storm of ice blinded him, and he groped around on the floor. “Flame Bomb!” A ball of fire sped from Sailor Mars’s hand to Hani and exploded when it hit him. “Ugh...” Hani doubled over and he put his hand down to support him. “Ice Shards Shatter!” Sailor Mercury attacked again, razor sharp shards of ice flying towards him. They froze all around him, and he found that he could not move. Mustering all the energy he could, he yelled at the top of his lungs and made fists and tried his hardest to lift them above his head. The ice broke into a million pieces that disappeared into the air. Hani stood, panting, but smiling deviously at Sailor Mercury. He held out his hand, and from the evil air, a long, thin sword emerged. With a flick of his wrist, he spun the sword in a figure eight design, then pointed the sharp point at Sailor Mars’s throat. “If you touch me, I’ll kill you.” He whispered into her ear. Rei raged with anger but stood still. Then she leaned her head back and a hook kick flew into Hani’s stomach. He took a few steps back only to be hit again by her 360 roundhouse in his head. He knew he had lost. He could feel it in whatever heart he had. “Never give up, never.” he thought as he opened his eyes and faced the senshi who fought with all their hearts and for goodness. “But sometimes you have to know you’re beat...” He crouched, darkness coming into his vision. His muscles relaxed, and he almost fell unconscious. But out of nowhere, a sudden burst of energy erupted within him. He opened his eyes again, and shot an immense black sphere at the senshi. Caught by surprise, Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus fell to the ground. The other senshi watched as he transformed into a marvelous unicorn, white wings jutted out of his back and his limbs turned into muscular hooved legs. His neck elongated and thickened into the neck of a horse, and his face became distorted as he was transformed. In a few seconds, a shining white unicorn stood before them. It lowered its head, and from the shimmering pearly horn on its head, emitted a black stream of energy that sent Sailor Moon sailing backwards into the wall. She hit the dark glass with a thud and slid down to the floor. Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Mars’s combined attack sent Hani tumbling backwards in midair, but he spread out his wings and landed gracefully on all fours. “Damn. We weren’t strong enough!” Rei shouted. Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Saturn, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Pluto all attacked at once. “Fire Burst!” “Lightning Shock!” “Earth Tremble!” “Time Warp!” “Death Chain!” Embers and flames exploded, thunder and lightning shook the room, the ground under their feet quivered, then shook powerfully, dimensions clashed, the hands of death came up from the ground and groped at their victim. But it still wasn’t enough. Ami and Minako sensed the need, and they stood, however weak they were. “Bubble Blast!” “Love Kiss Whirl!” Blue bubbles and yellow kisses joined the attack. Hani reared and kicked, but the senshi continued attacking. “Sailor Moon! We need you!” Sailor Mercury managed to say. Slowly, Sailor Moon arose from the ground, bleeding and bruised, but beautiful. She stood, steadying her balance. “Crystal Heart Elimination!” Pieces of crystal entwined with silver light shot out in all directions, then joined the attack. The giant beam of energy was now all different colored lined with silver. “I can’t hold out...much longer.” Sailor Mercury said before she gave way and collapsed on the floor. “Ami!!” Usagi yelled. “Sorry...” Sailor Mercury shrank down to the floor and fell unconscious. Hani stopped rearing and fell to the ground, his energy deprived of him and too weak to go on. The senshi stopped their attack and looked at the unicorn pitifully. “I can’t do it...I can’t kill him.” Sailor Moon whispered. Only Hotaru still glared at him. She raised her Glaive and yelled, “Silence Slash!” The blade glowed bright purple and Sailor Pluto ran towards Hani, eyes intense and blade raised. She sliced through his side, the cut deepening with every thrust. Blood trickled down his side until it became a river of red blood staining his snow white fur. The fur started to turn gray, then black. he turned into a human again, the blood still spreading on the floor. Sailor Pluto walked up to him, wiped her blade clean on his coat and turned away. Everyone looked away from the horrid sight. “Set Michiru free.” Usagi told Sailor Saturn. “Reality Liberation!” Michiru was still kneeling on the floor when she saw Hani dead on the floor. “What have you done?!?! You killed him!” She screamed. Sailor Uranus walked up to her and looked into her eyes. “We did it for you. To help you...to help you be our Michiru again.” Haruka started to cry, and Michiru’s eyes also became teary and soon, tears were streaming down her face as she looked at the senshi that stood before her. She saw the faces of Sailor Moon, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, Sailor Saturn, Sailor Pluto, Sailor Uranus, and the fallen Sailor Mercury. “I think I understand now.” Michiru looked shamefully at the floor, but Haruka smiled and took her in her arms and embraced Michiru, who was slowly weakening and starting to lose her balance. Haruka tried to hold her close, but Michiru drew away. “I’m going to die soon. Hani put a spell on me. When he dies, so do I. I think I’m being kept alive a few minutes because I was trapped in that time box, but I’m going to leave soon...I can feel it.” Everyone looked at her in disbelief. “Haruka, I love you...you know I do. I love you with all my heart and everything I have, so I need you to do something for me.” “What is it?” “Promise you’ll do it.” “Anything.” “Kill me.” “What?! No! I can’t!” “You promised...” “But...I didn’t know you wanted me to...kill you...” “Please? I’d be much happier knowing that it was the one I loved that ended my life here, not Hani dragging me down into hell with him. It’s my last request, Haruka. Please...” “....Ok Michiru...” Haruka drew her Space Sword and kneeled by Michiru and pointed it at Michiru’s heart. “Ready?” Haruka began to cry, the tears coming down uncontrollably down her face until her face became soaked with tears. She looked away and thrust her sword forward quickly. Michiru fell back and Haruka stared at her. Bending over, she kissed Michiru’s lips. “Thank You.” Michiru whispered quietly as her life left her. The color in her cheeks left and her face became cold. Haruka lifted her in her arms and looked at the senshi. “Let’s go home. This place disgusts me.” “You did a good thing, Haruka. I’m proud of you.” Sailor Moon said, wiping tears from her eyes. “I don’t want to talk about it anymore.” Sailor Uranus sobbed. “Let’s just get out of here.” The senshi teleported back home and gave Michiru a proper burial, funeral and all.
