As morning approached, Hotaru was the first one to wake. “Sigh...Today is it...the end of destiny and the beginning of the search for our final destination.” she thought, looking around her at every senshi that lay strewn about the living room floor. “They look so peaceful and without worry...except...there’s something missing...Michiru...don’t worry, we’ll get you! You’ll be free! Trust me, trust us, Michiru.” she told Michiru in her mind. Hotaru stepped into the backyard and waited for everyone else to awaken. An icy breeze brushed her fine, dark hair against her rosy cheek. Flipping back her hair, she took in everything around her: the newly bloomed pear blossoms, the deep green grass, the clear blue sky, and most importantly, the love of her friends. Hotaru appreciated and recognized all these things. While she was thinking, she saw something move out of the corner of her eye. She turned around and saw Haruka walking towards her. “Hi Hotaru.” she smiled. Hotaru smiled back. “I’ve been thinking...now that we know where Michiru is...can we just rescue her now? Why are we taking so long to get this done?” “I don’t know.” Hotaru answered. The two sat together on the fresh, clean morning air watching the sunrise. Before long, there as a noticeable amount of noise inside the house. Haruka and Hotaru joined the drowsy group and everyone dressed into casual spring clothes. “Wow this feels so awkward. We never go to school without uniforms on...” Makoto said. “Yea, I know! I’m like so excited though! It’s kinda like starting a new phase of life.” Minako related to Makoto. “Ok, we’re supposed to travel in groups. so let’s split up into two groups again. Ummm...How about...Me, Makoto, Minako, and Setsuna stay together. And the rest of you are the other group, yea?” Usagi gave out instructions. She had gone though a mental change. She was now done with her ditzy stage, and she was becoming a fearless and effective leader. “Everyone got their papers?” Rei asked. “Yup” “Uhhuh” Rei smiled and said, “Alright, let’s get this over with!” Usagi visited her school first, since it was closest. She and Minako headed for the offices, drawing all eyes to them. Usagi was clad in a black and silver tank top and fitting jeans. Minako’s long legs were shown off by jean shorts and a baby T-shirt. It was extremely strange to see regular students walking about without uniforms. “Hello, In Tsukino Usagi, and these are my release papers. I am checking out.” The old office lady rose an eyebrow at her and looked up her files on the computer beside her. She pressed a few keys and printed out some papers. “Sign here, please.” said a monotone voice followed by a paper held by a wrinkled hand. “Sure.” “Ok, you’re done. You can go now.” Usagi and Minako shrugged and left, their next destination was Makoto’s college. Minako and Mokoto went to the office to check out. The whole walk, Makoto fumbled with the large manila envelope. She stared at the floor, thinking of her future. She had looked forward to succeed in running so much, but she was quitting now without even a medal or an award. “Oh well...I have to sacrifice something for the world.” she told herself and strengthened her stride. Minako had no problem checking out, except for leaving Kotebe behind. They embraced and cried until Usagi tapped her shoulder lightly signaling that they were running out of time. “Bye.” “Bye, Mina-chan...remember to call me, ok?” “Of course” They parted with teary smiles. Minako knew that Kotebe understood her reasons, so she wasn’t uncomfortable at all. Setsuna wanted to go alone, but Usagi gollowed her cautiosly in case anything happened and Setsuna should needher help. The second group went through the same process. Haruka was the most enthusiastic because they were actually doing something procuctive and were one step closer to rescueing and healing Michiru All in good spirits, the eight girls went out to lunch in celebration of a new beginning. Everyone jammed into Usagi’s car when their lunch was finished. Hotaru had to sit on Setsuna and Ami was squirming on the floor with Minako who was complaining about her hair. When they finally arrived home, doors opened and girls tumbled and spilled out of the car. “Phew!” “That was horrible!” “Remind me never to do that again...” Rei and Makoto said, laughing. Once on the house, all minds were concentrated on their mission. Ami and Haruka traced the energy patterns Michiru had left. “It’s not clear, but look. The patters seem to be moving.” “Yea, I see it. It’s going in a big circle.” “Hold on...If we change the veiw...and if the earth is here...then...that means that Michiru and whoever is holding her is orbiting the earth. Smart...staying stationary would be too easy for us to find them.” “So we’re dealing with a genius...that’s just wonderful.” Ami and Haruka conversed quietly. “Ok, guys! I have a plan!” Ami jumped out of the couch and grinned. “get me paper and a pen.” Hotaru reached next to her to get some stray paper and a pen lying on the table. “Watch. I’m going to draw a diagram.” Quickly but neatly, Ami drew a large circle representince the earth and another circle for Michiru’s orbit. “This is where we are right now.” She used her pen as a pointer. “Michiru and Hani are...here.” She moved her pen to the side and drew a large dot. “Judging by their speed, they will be directly above us at 8:42 sharp tomorrow evening. We are going to teleport straight up which will save us time and energy. But we only have a minute and 4 seconds to get there and land on their craft.” “And when we get there, we find Michiru and kill Hani, right?” Haruka assumed. “Basically, yes.” Ami nodded. “It won’t be that easy...” Guardian had remained silent, but he spoke up now. “It’s unpredictable...we have no idea what Michiru is like anymore.” “But no matter what it takes, we have to get her back! We can’t leave her with Hani!” Haruka argued, creasing her forhead and staring hard at the Guardian. “Very well...if you are ready for anything and everythin. Be prepared to die, to kill, anything to achieve your goal.” “Mmhm!” Haruka nodded, determined to get Michiru back, even if she had to give her own life to save her. Anxious for tomorrow, every sailor scout was edgy and nervous. “I really wish I was more confident...I don’t know how to help you guys right now, but good luck anyways, everyone.” Usagi whispered before they all fell into slumber. “I wish they have as much spirit as they say they do...They are going to need it tomorrow....all the spirit in the world.” Guardian mumbled as he stared at the sleeping senshi.
Red-gold eyes watched through black curtains as a large mass approached its destination. Hani stood at the controls, ready for anything. Once they were above their target, he would slow the craft fo 1/2 its current speed, making then the exact speed as earth, leaving then directly obove the scouts for as long as he wished. Davious expression lingerend on his face. “Beware...the legendary unicorn was arrived...” Hani snickered, then broke out into devilish laughter. “I’m coming for you...alll of you damn fools who dared to contain me and my brothers.” “What are you doing, my love?” a female voice spoke. “Ahh...my princess...I have divised a marvelous plan! Of course, you will assist me, won’t you?” He atroked her cheek and placed a wisp of her hair behind her ear. “Anything if it pleases you, Hani.” “Even if you must go against those Sailor punks?” “Of course! They are the ones who caused me so much pain!” “That’s right...you hate them don’t you? You want to kill all of them!” “Yes, I do. I trusted them before, but not anymore! I’ll never believe them again! Or every trust anyone like them...ever!” “Poor baby...I know how you feel...” Hani grinned and put a comforting arm around Michiru’s shoulders. Together, they walked out of the control room, hand in hand, waiting for their designated time of 8:42pm to arive.
