"I give up...I can't go on like this anymore!!" Michiru looked at her screaming refelction in the mirror, her eyes red from crying. "What is the point of living?! I don't believe in myself, I hate my identity, and I can't acheive anything!" Warm tears trickled down Michiru's pale face, leaving a streak of wetness to her chin where the tears had fallen onto the floor. She heard a creak, and the front door opened. Quickly washing her face, she walked downstairs, puffy red eyes relived to see Haruka sitting at the kitchen table. "Have you been crying again?" Haruka gently put her arm around Michiru's shoulders as she glanced concernedly at Michiru's face. Michiru nodded, but she felt a little better now, for Haruka was there to comfort her. "Go upstairs and sleep, you look like you need rest." Haruka gave her a slight push towards the stairway. Michiru slowly pulled herself up the stairs, her feet feeling as heavy as lead blocks attached to her legs. In the kitchen, Haruka pulled a cracker out of the pantry, munching and burying herself in her thoughts. She was deeply concerned about Michiru's depressed state. This had been going on for weeks with no sign of her brightening up at all. She just became more and more depressed as the days went by. Gulping down some water, she quickly went upstairs to Michiru's room where she was tossing and turing in her bed, her face dotted with sweat and cringing in pain. There was definately something terribly wrong. She rested her hand on Michiru's forehead, a comforting golden energy surrounding them both as Haruka transmitted comfort energy into Michiru's body, but although her body came to a rest, her mind was still struggling. Her breathing became deep and regular as Haruka walked to her own room and fell into the darkness of sleep.

Meanwhile, inside the residence of Ami Mizuno, a shadowed figure could be seen through the window, head bent over books, studying until her brain was about to burst with too much information. Ami yawned, but shook her head abruptly and rubbed her tired eyes. "I can't..fall asleep..Got to keep..studying...Somebody could beat my score..." She opened her eyes wide and tried to concentrate, but no matter how hard she would try, the words started to melt and merge together. Exhausted, her body fell forward, and she fell asleep between pages 420 and 421 of her English book.

Hotaru woke up the next morning and got ready for school. Her once purple eyes were now almost a deep black. She had lost all traces of being the sweet high schooler she had been a month ago. When anyone asked what was wrong, her eyes looked as it they were going into a wild frenzy of thoughts. Hotaru was continually tormented by horrible nightmared of past enemies, death, and torture. Her mental health had gone out, and nobody dared talk to her, for sometimes her temper would snap and she lashed out at anyone who dared aggrevate her, She slowly walked through the streets she had walked for four years, and approached the school gate, at which her old teacher was standing, and he glanced quickly at her. Hotaru's cold eyes could have frozen his heart with one stare if he hadn't turned away. She walked by, dark eyes focused on the ground as the teacher shook his head in pity at his once brilliant student.

Rei Hino constantly looked back as she walked through the long halls of her new college. A few girls, jealous of Rei's immense beauty threatened to beat her down if they ever saw her again. The old Rei, the senshi of fire, Sailor Mars would had easily stood up to them and kept her pride. Something strange had come over the whole senshi, and everyone had become weak and pitiful, especially Michiru, who was on the verge of suicide.

Minako dragged her feet along the ground, depressed and hurt. Her best friend had betrayed her a few days ago, leaving Minako all alone in her new school. Kotebe (Koht-Eh-Beh) had told Minako that she wanted new friends who were more fun and exciting then she. "But..How could she do this to me? I was her best friend.." She thought, head down, not looking up to notice the group of popular girls who were snickering at the sight of Minako. She stopped, a familiar pair of black shoes before her eyes. Minako's eyes trevled upward to her ex-best friend's clear green eyes. A sharp pang went through her heart the instant her eyes met the green ones. Minako ran, tears blinding the way, not knowing that Kotebi was still looking back at her, pain coursing through her thoughts.

"NO! That's stupid." Makoto yelled, throwing another crumpled paper into the wastebasket. "Why can't I even think of something to write for my essay??" This used to be so easy..." As she tried to keep focused, random thoughts kept surfacing to her brain. "I can't do anything..Everything I do is a waste of time and energy..Why do I even try??" She crossed her arms, and slumped into her chair.

Usagi sat on her bed and sighed with sorrow. Mamo-chan had left to America just weeks ago, and she was starting to feel lonely without Mamoru by her side. "Without Mamoru I am nothing..just another body populating the overcrowded Earth..." She said to herself. "How is Preincess Serenity to exist without her faithful Prince Endymion?" Usagi closed her eyes as memories flooded her brain and she plopped backwards onto her bed.

"Michiru..." whispered a calm, ghostly voice in Michiru's bedroom. She dreamed of a beautiful winged white horse that spoke, "Come with me, Michiru...only I understand how you feel...." Michiru, almost as if she was in a trance, got up and stepped up onto the back of the unicorn mindlessly. She knew for sure that it was not a good unicorn, but she could not sense evil in it either. It looked so kind and beckoning that she helplessly gave in to its coaxing. Lifting up into the air on its powerful haunches, it flew off into the black moonless night carrying Neptune on its back.

Back in the real world, the yellow sun peeked over the mountains, long arms embracing the earth. "Hm..I wonder how Michiru is feeling" Haruka yawned as she walked over to the next room where Michiru lay. Haruka flung open the door and gasped. She stumbled a little before backing away at the sight of her beloved Michiru whos body lay perfectly still, without a breath or heartbeat, her aquamarine eyes wide open but blank. Cautiously, she inched over to the body. "Michiru?" She shook her gently "Are you alright??" Then a horrid thought dawned on her, "No! Michiru you can't be dead!!! How could you do such a thing and just leave me here?! The least you could do is take me with you!" Haruka yelled angrily, filled with sadness, tears rolling down her cheeks. She fell to her knees, weak and shocked. She called Usagi and all the other girls to inform them of Michiru's apparant death. They quickly drove to the apartment and kneeled by Michiru's bedside. Then a thought hit Setsuna. "I could have prevented this! I saw her at school every day and didn't even offer a word of encouragement...It's all my fault...If only I had been more observant..." Setsuna thought. The bright reflection of the sun on a shining object caught Luna's eye. She leaped up onto the table to get a better look at the object. "Just as I thought! It's the Deep Aqua Mirror!" Luna cried. "Yea, of course...so?" Minako asked without emotion. "That means Michiru should be alive! Don't you get it? Without Michiru in existance, the Deep Aqua Mirror would not be here because its holder had never been here!" She explained. "Uh..but she IS dead..." Makoto sighed. "Yea, look at her..she isn't breathing and she has no pulse whatsoever." Usagi commented. "Then her soul must have been transported or taken somewhere!" Luna concluded, confident that Michiru was alive and well. "Even if she is alive...its my fault shes gone..." Setsuna grumbled under her breath.

"Look Michiru...they know you're alright..you don't need to worry about them." The pure white unicorn said convincingly, shutting off a large glass sphere that could show the events of Earth and other nearby planets and stars. The unicorn, called Hani, trotted off into a huge green garden flourishing with beautiful flowers and a silver waterfall, with Michiru close behind. He told her stay there for a while and wait for him ro return. Hani snickered once he left the garden, knowing that in the Garden, time did not exist, and Sailor Neptune might be in there for many millenia, never knowing it was more than a few minutes. He galloped off, laughing wildly, his clean white mane brushing against his strong neck. He stopped, closed his eyes, and a white circle with a single white star in the center appeared on his forehead. Hani's arched back straightened, forelegs thinning and becoming arms. His hind legs became straight and formed his legs. The majestic mane floated above his shoulders, taking the from of snow-white hair. The tail wrapped around Hani's human body forming black clothes in contrast to his shocking white hair and bright blue eyes.

"We must get Michiru back!" Luna ordered the nine, now eight girls. "How? We don't even know where she is." Makoto replied dryly. "We don't have the strength to get her back anyways." Rei added. "Yea, we can't do anything" Makoto finished. Haruka was in shock, and was staring into Michiru's face, hoping that she would just wake up from some strange rest. The loss of Michiru was too much for her heart to bear. "GIRLS!! What is wrong with you all??" Luna bursted, exasperated at the senshi's negative attitude. "Whatever. Let's go. I need to study for an exam next week." Ami said, walking out of the room. The other girls followed her out the door. "So you're all going to just give up on her?!?!" Luna shouted. "We've already given up on ourselves. How do you expect us to help someone else?" Makoto yelled back, slamming the door behind her. Luna stood atop the stairs, mouth gaping wide at Makoto's words. "Where have I been all this time? Not even noticing this problem?" She shook her head in disappointment and tried to comfort Haruka who did not seem to hear a word Luna wa saying to her. Finally, Luna just left to go back to Usagi's house to find Usagi sleeping..again. "Aaahhh~!!!!! What is wrong with everyone?!?!" Luna screamed at the top of her lungs, waking Usagi in the process. "Luna! I was SLEEPING here!" Usagi shrieked. "Ugh! I can't stand this!" Luna ran outside to get some fresh air. "Poor, poor little kitty...I know how you feel..." a kind voice said from behind. "Huh?" Luna thought. "Meow?" She turned to face a large white unicorn. "Hm...definately not a good creature...but...not evil? How can this be?" Luna pondered, scanning the unicorn in her mind. "Meeoow~" "You need not pretend, Luna, I know who you are...what you do...and what you can do...for me" it said. "What? What kind of being are you?" Luna asked. "Haha...I am many things..." He answered. Luna eyed him suspiciously, amazed at this strange fantasy animal's knowledge of her identity. "Currently, I am..how should I put it...helping one of your girls, the one called..Michiru, was it?" Hani told a shocked Luna. "What have you done to her?!" Luna growled, leaping at his leg in attempts to bite him if he would not talk. "Don't worry, she is fine, sitting in the Garden, enjoying herself." Hani said in a soothing voice. "And where, may I ask would this Garden be?" She questioned. "You do not need to know now. All of your precious girls including yourself will someday be taken there to join your pathetic friend Michiru." Hani looked to the side, annoyed at Luna's many questions. Luna, now terrified at this unicorns wickedness, ran in between and through Hani's legs, and ran home as fast as she possibly could. Out of breath, Luna finally stopped running as she leaped for the open window. Catching her breath, she walked up the stairs to Usagi who was sighing and staring at a picture of her and Mamoru smiling blissfully at the camera. "U..Usagi!" Luna panted, falling on the bed. "Huh? Luna? When did you get here?" Usagi set the picture down carefully and turned around. "It's him...the unicorn...he took Michiru and he's gonna get us all! He even tried to take me today...right now!" Luna frantically said to an extremely confused Usagi. "Uhh...a UNICORN, Luna? You sure?" she asked, puzzled. "YES Usagi, a unicorn. What else do you call a white horse with wings and a single horn?!?!" "Oh..I see." "So?!?! Aren't you going to think of a plan to get Michiru back??" "I was never one to think much.." Usagi replied cooly. "USAGI TSUKINO!!!" Luna yelled, anger and annoyance flashing in her dark eyes. "Yes, Luna?" She stared at Luna who was going ballistic. Luna just fell over in exasperation. Days went by, and Luna had absolutely no progress getting through Usagi's head One clear afternoon, with the sun shining brightly outside, sunshine suddenly poured in through the open front door, casting a shadow of a young girl with flowing long hair. Rei barged in through the door and yelled, "Usagi?! Luna?! Are you home???" "Huh? Whos that?" Usagi muttered, getting out of her bed. Luna ran downstairs to the familiar call of Rei. "I have to tell you something. That's why I'm here...sorry for barging in on you like that." She apoligized. Rei walked through the living room to the large couch where she had sat so many times before, when they were fighting the Shadow Kingdom. "Rei? What are you doing here?" "Oh, right. I came to tell you about some strange dreams I've been having lately. "Go on.." Luna urged. "For a few days now, I've been continuously having the same dream about me as Sailor Mars. In these dreams I travel to the past, but after that everything is kind of blurred. The only other thing I can remember clearly is an old man, thin and gray-haired, and he tries to tell me something but I can't make out what he's saying. And then its over." She explained. "Oh, it's probably nothing, Rei. Lots of people have strange dreams..." Usagi said. "No, I don't think so.." Rei argued. "I get a strange feeling we are supposed to do something. I just don't know what...and that old man...I think that its the most crucial part. He's trying to tell me something very important.." Rei redirected her conversation to Luna, for she knew that Luna was listening with eagerness. "Well...I see that there must be some significance to these dreams, Rei. So next time, try hard to communicate with this man. He may be of help to us...or he could be dangerous." Luna couldn't help but to remember her encounter with Hani a few days ago and how he had said he could be many things. Rei slowly walked home, stopping at a nearby cafe for a cup of coffee. As soon as she reached her room, a pounding headache overcame her, and she walked over to the bed in pain. As soon as she laid down, she blacked out, and a feeling of great urgency could be sensed even by the unconcious girl on the bed. Then, that thin, old man appeared with a strange reddish aura around him. "Rei, Hino...senshi of fire. I see you have finally realized the importance of my presence." "Who are you?" Rei thought as the man continued to speak. "You, including the rest of the senshi must teleport to this location immediately. It is crucial that ou arrive within the next day, or else you may suffer great loss." He explained. Rei, falling out of her deep trance, sprang up, and ran back out of her house. Once again, Usagi's front door was burst open by Rei, drops of sweat emerging from her forhead. "Luna!!!" she ran to the dark colored cat lounging on the grey couch. "We have to go...the old man..its..very important.." Rei gulped down breaths of air as she spoke. "Rei, what did the man say to you?" Luna asked "We have to teleport to his world today or else we are going to suffer great loss or something." "Well then, I guess you're going to have to leave today." Luna motioned to the communicator sitting on the table for Rei to contact the others with while Luna went upstairs to get Usagi. "Ami? This is Rei. You have to come to Usagi's right now! It's urgent." "But..but..the quiz tomorrow!! What about that?" "Forget it Ami, NOW" "Ok, ok...fine..." "Oh yea..can you pick up Minako on the way here too? Thanks." Rei clicked off the comminicator. "Two down four to go..." she thought. She dialed everyone's number and they all reluctantly decided to come. The only ones left to call were Haruka and Hotaru. Rei's spoke into the communicator and Haruka clicked over, but Rei could not hear a thing except for the subtle click. "Haruka? Are you there??? You gotta come down to Usagi's house. It's important" Haruka never answered, but Rei could hear a click on the other side and then nothing. "Damn! She disconnected it!" Rei grumbled. "Whatever...I'll just call Hotaru next" Rei turned the communicator on again, but this time the frequency matching Hotaru's. "Hotaru! Come to Usagi's house right now!" "What for..?" "It's very important Hotaru, you have to come." "Whatever." Another click and blank silence. Rei almost tore out her hair in exasperation at the two. Nevertheless, the two silent senshi showed up at the house and Rei sighed in relief. When everybody was gathered, Rei began the explanation of her urgent calling. "Ok you guys...I know this will sound strange, but there's this old guy and we have to go to him today or else we are going to suffer some great loss. It isn't clear why we have to go, but it's important and we must go today." "Uhh..ok..." Makoto said. "And WHERE exactly are we going?" asked Ami. "I don't know..I guess we gotta find him.." Rei said timidly, ashamed that she did not even know this simple information. "Great..we're going to have to travel time and space to look for this guy..." Makoto grumbled. "Wait! I remember now!! The red aura...and the picture...its the Great Wall! We're supposed to go to China!!" Rei exclaimed, jumping up and down at her discovery. "China? What the hell.." Usagi rolled her eyes. "Sailor senshi, you must find him...but be careful; who knows if this man is trouble or help." Luna urged them, warning them at the same time with concern shadowing her usually bright eyes. "Oh fine.." Usagi said dully. "Sailor Teleport." Everyone said, heads down, as if having no care of this mission whatsoever. Everyone was engulfed in a clear bubble and lifted off the ground and sped off into the sky. "All right! To China!!" Rei said with enthusiasm as the bubble came to a halt and raced into the other direction at incredible speeds. The scenes they saw were astonishing. As they traveled to theire destination, the bubble, seeming to have a mind of its own, traveled centuries back in time as time flowed in reverse all around them. The senshi looked around at the events happening around them, all melting together to form the history they had so many times read about in their textbooks. A large, long brown structure could be veiwed in the distance. "There it is...let's go" Usagi said, butterflies forming in her stomach. When they approached the Wall, a middle aged man with a broad straw hat which was pointed at the top stopped them. "Halt. You have finally come after many ages of waiting. The great prophecy shall be fulfilled and the act of healing done." The man's facial features were hidden by the shadow of the large hat, preventing the sailors from seeing his face. "Who is this guy??" Usagi thought, frowning. Hotaru's cold stare locked on his unseen face, her eyes never shifting. Haruka emotionlessly looked past the man into some world where her own thoughts were revolving in her mind. The man motioned to the girls. "Follow me. I will take you to the one that ever ages but never passes on."
