The Kagetai HomeName: Sanada MitsuhiroDate of Birth: June 14, 1850 Height: 5'5 Weight: 110 lbs Appearance: Black hair with traces of dark brown tied back in a samurai-style ponytail, brown eyes, wears a black hakama with a black gi and a white haori with black triangles along the sleeves and bottom Background Info: The son of two proud mid-class samurai, Mitsuhiro is descended from Sanada Yukimura, called the greatest Soldier in Japan, after the battle of Osaka Castle. His parents pushed him to train in Suio Ryu when he was five so he would follow the family tradition of fighting as a samurai. At the start of the Meiji Revolution, his parents were among the first to be killed by Battousai. His parents' last wish was that he inherit his father's katana and his mother's wakizashi. He names his katana Katsujinken (the sword that gives life), and vows to one day kill Battousai and thus give life to those the Hitokiri would have killed, and avenge those that had already been killed by him. One month before the Ikedaya Incident, he sets out to join the Shinsengumi. However, he falls sick the day of the trials and fails the entry exams. He then decides to set out to kill Battousai himself, without the aid of the Shinsengumi. After the Ikedaya Incident, Mitsuhiro finds Battousai alone in an ally. The two immediately begin to fight, however Battousai is tired from the battle of the Ikedaya Incident, and thus Mitsuhiro is able to make a small cut in his side, before being defeated himself. Before Battousai can kill him, a few Shinsengumi returning from the Incident, arrive and drive away Battousai. Mitsuhiro escapes with his left arm slashed nearly to the bone, a deep cut across his chest, and his wakizashi, the last present of his mother, shattered from the battle. Some of the Shinsengumi tell him that anyone who can wound the Hitokiri should be in the Shinsengumi, but he replies that he failed the exams. Saitou takes note of this and after the others leave, invites him to join his Kagetai. Mitsuhiro accepts the offer and joins the Kagetai at age 15, swearing once more to kill Battousai. Personality: Usually calm and kind, but he is the exact opposite when he fights or gets mad and is quick tempered. He is friendly to his fellow Kagetai, however he is rather anti-social to others. When he fights, his style (Suio Ryu) is characterized by all out attack and risk-taking. When not fighting or talking with the other Kagetai, he is usually seen in the corner of a room sharpening and polishing his sword.
