Piccolo and Goku were enemies, but allied to defeat Raditz in the beginning of DBZ.
After Raditz was defeated, Piccolo trained Gohan in order to help defend against the two Saiyans
(Vegeta and Nappa). Piccolo sacrificed himself to save Gohan from Nappa's beam.
He trained with King Kai in the next dimension and was wished back by Gohan and Krillin on Namek.
He fought Frieza after he fused with the wounded Namek Nail. Piccolo later fuses back with Kami.
Piccolo is an admirable fighter throughout all the DBZ Episodes.
