Heero Yuy is not this enigmatic young man's real name, but rather is the name of a hero of the people. Heero is simply his code name. Of course, I don't have the faintest idea what his real name is, I don't think it's ever given out...
He pilots Wing Gundam and is always considered to be the leader of the Gundam pilots despite being moody and sulky. And I think the other Gundam pilots, especially Wufei, might have something to say about the 'leader' bit...
His relationship with Releena Peacecraft is also a bit of a mystery. It is no secret that she appears to be...mildly enamoured...with him, but his feelings on the subject are never known. In the last episode he gives her a present, so he probably likes her, but she returns the favour he did for her... When they met the second time she gave him an invitation to her birthday party, which he promptly shredded.
He met Releena first when his Gundam crashed into the sea after a fight with Zechs, and Releena found him washed up on the shore and called an ambulance. When he came round he was horrified that anyone had seen his face, pushed her away, knocked out the ambulance crew and stole the ambulance. That's our Heero...
