A New Group is Born Chapter 2: The Star Scouts Revealed By Sailor Deneb Rated: PG, for violence and language "Well," Serina started. "I've been doing what Trista told me to do and trying to meet up with these 'scouts' and try to become their friend." Rei rubbed her eyes. They had been trying to figure information about the Sailor Star Scouts for 4 hours now. Rei looked around at everyone. They all looked just as tried as her. Mina was lying her head down on the table. Lita was propping her head up with her hands. Serina was hitting her face lightly every so often to keep her self-awake. Hotaru and Michelle had been sleeping for the past hour. Even Amy was showing signs of wear. "Guys, how 'bout we call it a night?" Rei asked. "We're all tried and it's past dinner and we al have homework to do." The scouts all nodded in favor of it and a took off. Rei woke up Michelle and Hotaru. "Huh, where am I?" Hotaru asked groggily. "My place." Rei answered. "You two are welcome to stay in my room tonight. Go home and get your school bags and come back and eat dinner and sleep." Michelle was still rubbing her eyes and yawning. Hotaru was trying to curl up again and sleep. "Thanks for the offer, Rei. I'm gonna go home and get mine and Helen stuff." Michelle answered politely. Michelle left. Rei picked up Hotaru. "Hey Hotaru. Wake up." Rei shook her and she woke up. "Come help me make us some dinner." Hotaru stood up and walked out of the room with Rei. Mei house about 8 o'clock "Mei, you have a visitor." Mr. Abliania told her. "Tell her to come up here." Mei answered back. "Mei's room is up the stairs and it's your first door on your right, okay?" Julia nodded and walked up the stairs. She knocked on Mei door. Mei came and opened it. Mei was dressed in a black pair of pants with a black sweatshirt and a white painter's smock with paint splashed all over it. Julia walked in. Mei's room was the weirdest teen girl's room she had ever saw. All over here walls were painting she had done instead of posters of singing groups and movie stars. She had a tall four poster bed. The fabric on this bed was purple. She had a tall thin bookshelf covered in fantasy novels and art books. Her walls were a pleasant white, where there weren't any paintings. She had a TV in the corner with a Playstation hooked up to it. Next to that was her dresser. It had a stereo on it and a few porcelain dolls. Julia just stood, mouth wide open and stared at her room. "What's wrong, not what you expected? Oh, I get it, you must think I'm almost normal now." Mei said sarcastically. Julia shook her head. "Did you paint these yourself?" Julia asked pointing to the walls. Mei nodded. "I'm sorry, I didn't know you were this good." Julia added. "What do you need? I'm kinda busy." She said pointing to her easel. Julia sat down. "Um, I wanna apologize. What I did to you last night and today was uncalled for. You deserve more respect than that." Julia said. Mei started to paint. "Oh really? You think an artist deserves more respect than an animal? I'm surprised in you." Mei said. "Oh come on grow up!" Julia said roughly. She picked up a photo album near by. She flipped it open and saw a girl about a year younger than Mei smiling back. She was wearing a freshman cheerleading shirt and jeans. Her hair was blonde and she was wearing a little bit of make up. "Mei, who is this girl?" Julia asked her. Mei put down her brush. She took the book. She looked at as if she didn't know who the person was. Finally she spoke. "It's me." Mei said. Julia was stunned. She didn't know what to say. "Mei, what happened to you? If you were so popular, why did you become like this?" Julia asked. Mei sat down next to her. She closed the photo album. "Julia promise not to tell anybody." Mei told her. Julia nodded. "Okay, I was a freshmen cheerleader at my old school. I was very popular. I went out with the captain of the freshman football team. I hung out everyday after school. I was very popular." She was beginning to stammer. "This is such a painful memory. My boyfriend and I were driving in his car. There was a drunk driver. He didn't see us and we didn't see him." She was starting to cry. "He crashed head on with our car. I was thrown out of the car. My boyfriend was caught inside." The tears were streaming down her face. "I couldn't do anything. Couldn't save him. This was before I could heal wounds, before I was Sailor Algol." Mei wiped her eyes on her sleeve. "He died on the scene of the accident. I was rushed to the hospital with minor injuries and was let out in two days, just in time for his funeral." She wiped her eyes again. "After the funeral, I was alone at his grave. A man came up to me and gave me this transformational stick. He said, 'You don't want another tragedy to happen to anyone else do you?' I answered him, 'No.' Then he told me to take this stick and say, 'Algol Celestial Power!'. So I did. Then he told me I have the power to heal and banish the dead. I could protect the ones I loved!" Mei took a deep breath. "That's not all. I went into a deep depression. I quit cheerleading and track. I just painted, my other true love, painting. That painting t here," She pointed to a dark painting. "Was my first one after, he died. I dyed my hair black and became what I used to call a Goth. I wore black clothes around the house and painted all day and did my homework. I was just and empty shell without a soul." I do have a new boyfriend. His name's Brian. He was one of the first people to befriend me after my change. Mei finished. Julia looked at her with sorrowful eyes. "I'm sorry, Mei." Was all she could manage. "I'll leave you now. So you can finish the painting." Mei wiped her eyes. Julia started to leave. "Julia," She stopped. "I'd love to paint your portrait someday." Julia nodded and left her. Mei went back to her painting. Rei, Serina, Amy, Lita and Mina were walking to school with each other the next morning. "Has anyone figured out anything about the Sailor Star Scouts yet?" Amy asked. "No, but they were on the ten o'clock news." Rei said. "Yeah, I saw them. They newsperson thought they were so great. They showed Sailor Polaris's sky bolt and Sailor Algol banished the bad guy. 'Who are these mysterious girls, who claim to be Sailor Scouts.' Then they showed them in their pose and went to another story." Lita said. "Speaking of that bad guy, does anyone know if they're working for the enemy?" Mina asked. "I dunno." Amy said. The five girls saw the outer scouts walking up to them. They were walking in a straight line, Amara, Michelle, Hotaru and Trista. "Hey Amara and Trista are getting along again." "Hey Meatball head." Amara called. The four outers ran over to the inners. "You and Amara are getting along again?" Rei asked. Trista turned her head the other way. "No, we're not speaking to each other anymore!" Trista said. "Yah, Amara told me to have Trista pass the eggs this morning." Hotaru said. "It's really silly!" "Yah, Trista told me to ask Amara if she was done with the shower yet." Michelle said. "I didn't. But Amara told me to tell Trista that she wasn't done yet. Even I know she was. They're being silly and really immature." "But I thought you were on my side?" Amara asked offended. "I'm not on anyone's side, well maybe I'm Hotaru's side. We both want sleep!" Michelle said. "Well now that you're against me. I'm going to school." Amara said as she stormed off. The outers looked at each other. "Somebody just had a mood swing." Serina said. "We need to hurry too!" "Bye girls." Trista said. The inners left. "Well ladies, we should get to school." The outer scouts left for school. Lunch Time at the First International High School of Tokyo. Julia was sitting by herself waiting for the other scouts to show up. She couldn't believe what Mei told her last night. It was so amazing. She had once been popular! That, girl with no more fashion sense then a door, had been the most popular girl in her school. She couldn't believe that the death of her boyfriend could make her do that to herself. Humans or at least normal humans like to be popular. She didn't know any teenage girl who was popular that just didn't love it. She didn't know any un-popular teenage girl that didn't want to be popular. It's the whole point of highschool. Julia sat there by herself for about five more minutes. Then Julia saw Mei walking as fast as she could to make it there. "Sorry. I got caught up in art!" Mei apologized. Julia looked up at her. "It's all right!" Julia said cheerfully. "Sit down. I have something I wanna ask you." Mei sat down next to Julia. "What is it? Oh I understand, it's let's wear black day, isn't it? Or maybe its, how's your laundry doing, did you run out of bleach?" Mei asked. She had a sour expression on her face. Julia put her hand on Mei's hand. "Mei, listen to me. Those people are just way mean. I would never say something like that about you." Julia explained. "But you would my friends wouldn't you?" Mei asked with pleading eyes. "No, I wouldn't. I mean, I might have but since I met you, I now understand there could be a reasons someone would choose to be like you." Julia explained. Mei nodded. "Now listen, I want to know if you wanna go see a movie with me tonight." Mei looked at her like she was nuts. "Wait, wait, wait. How do I know this isn't some clever trick to get me with your friends and then you guys can all make fun of me? Not that it bothers me anymore." Mei questioned. "Trust me, Mei. We're friends aren't we?" Julia pleaded. "Well I guess we are now, aren't we? What do you wanna go see?" Mei asked. Mei and Julia decided to go see a new remake of Robin Hood. By then Auriga and Denise showed up. They took their places and sat down and opened their sack lunches. \ "Julia, I'll trade you my delicious school milk for your HiCi drink box." Denise said. "No, why would I want to trade you that?" Julia asked. Before Denise could answer an announcement came over the intercom system. "We are having visitors from our rival school coming over. Each of them has been given a picture and are told to find you in the lunchroom. They are going to spend the reset of the day with you. That is all." The announcement stopped. "Oh, that's great. Tell us about this." A group of four girls walked over to them. "Excuse me. We're supposed to hang out with you guys." Amy said. She poked Julia in the shoulder. Julia looked up to her. "Serina, is following you, Julia. Mina is following you, Mei. I'm following Denise. Lita is following you, Auriga." "Well, lunch is almost over so, we're gonna be going to classes soon." Auriga said. The inner scouts sat down. "Did you hear about the Sailor Star Scouts last night?" Mina asked. "Yah." Denise said. "They're really something." "Did you see the way that one made that huge bolt of lightening? That was awesome." Mei added. "I wish I could meet them." Serina said wishfully. Mei shot her a hard look. "So she wants to meet us, does she? Well I think she already has Sailor Moon!" Mei thought. "It's so obvious that this girl is Sailor Moon. Look at her. Who in their right mind would wear meatballs in their hair?" The bell rang. "I take that's the bell?" The Star scouts nodded and left the lunchroom followed by the Inner scouts. Later at the Cherry Hill Temple The inner and outer scouts were having a combined meeting. They had just started and were still waiting for Hotaru to get out of detention. "Trista, just apologize to Amara. Amara you just apologize to Trista. Okay?" Michelle made another attempt to fix their friendship. Both didn't even look at each other. Amara and Trista were sitting on opposite sides of the room. Michelle wasn't sitting next to Amara like normal; she was sitting half way between them on the floor. "Well, let's just start. Hotaru can join in when she gets here." Rei said. The girls nodded and began their meeting. "Okay Ladies. I think I know who they are." Amy started. "They are most definitely Julia, Georgia, Mei, Denise and Auriga." The girls stared at her. "How do you know?" Trista asked. "I mean, how can you be so sure?" "Denise gave it away. She acted as if she knew I was a Sailor Scout. I asked her if she saw the newscast about the star scouts last night. She told me she had and talked about the battle as if she was there. She ever could tell me Sailor Rigel's speech. It's obvious she's Sailor Rigel. As for the others, they were all talking very excitedly about the new scouts and I know it took more that one day for you three to catch on and be a big hit." Amy explained. "Okay, so I bet you're right Amy. Now how do we confront these girls?" Rei asked. Everyone looked stunned. They all sat and thought for a few minutes then Amara came up with an idea. "So, what if we confronted them after a battle?" Amara suggested. The other scouts nodded. "That might work, Amara." Michelle said cheerfully. She hopped over and gave her a hug. Hotaru came in. "Sorry I'm so late!" She apologized. "That's okay. Amy figured out that the Star Scouts are Julia Myers, Auriga Nential, Mei Abliania, Denise McFlairn, and Georgia McFlairn. We're gonna confront them in battle." Hotaru nodded in agreement. "Okay, so now let's get to the topic of Trista and Amara." Hotaru said. Amara stood up. "I just remembered I have something to do." Amara said hastily and left. Hotaru and Michelle shook their heads in disagreement. "Amara is just ignoring the fact that they are going to have to get along again someday." "Well, I'm just waiting for her to apologize. See once she does, I'll be totally willing to cause it will already be her fault." Trista said quietly. The girls made a sour face at her. "Well, we better just go home. Come on, Michelle, Hotaru." The two girls stood up and followed Trista. "Hey what if we walked you guys home?" Serina asked. Trista shrugged her shoulders. "I wanna be there if they show up!" Serina finished cheerfully. "Sure come with us." Hotaru said happily. The 8 girls left the temple quietly. Only talking when Rei said good bye to Chad. Chad followed them outside. "Rei, that girl Georgia never showed up." He told her. "So if you see her talk to her about it." "Yah, I will and you keep an eye out for her." Rei asked. Chad nodded and let the girls leave. The Sailor Scouts had been walking along in silence. Until they heard a noise. "Psy Freeze!" Shouted Sailor Deneb. She raised her hands and the ice gathered around them. She brought her hands to chest level and let the arctic blast spray from her hands. The monster froze. "Now it's your turn Sailor Algol!" The small girl stepped forward. "I call upon the holy powers of Algol. Supreme Heaven Heal!" A soft white light shot away from her and it incinerated the enemy. Algol jumped up. "Now that's what I call a healthy dose of justice." She turned around and realized the Sailor Scouts were watching her and the rest of her team. Saturn was walking towards her. "Good job, Mei Albania." Saturn said. Algol made a face. "How do you know my name?" She asked. "We know all of your names." Mars replied. "Hello, Sailor Deneb or should I say Julia Myers." Serina said. Deneb ran over to her and started to do a Psy thunderbolt but stopped. "I know who you are too. All of you! Sailor Moon is Serina." She went along naming all of them correctly. "Even Sailor Uranus is Amara, but she doesn't appear to be here now." Deneb finished. All the girls, both planetary and stars, morphed down. "So now that you know who we are you think your gonna have a fix on us? I hate to break it to you ladies but we have not yet begun to fight evil here." Auriga said. "The evil forces around here are so strong. But we can fight them. You ladies wouldn't stand a chance. These monsters are undead; your attacks won't do much damage. Then you'll need, Mei here to banish them." Denise explained. The planetary scouts looked confused. They didn't quiet understand. "What are these things undead?" Michelle asked. The star scouts nodded. "Yes." Georgia said. "You won't stand a chance! It's up to us, to stop them." The girls started to walk away. Julia turned back around. "We may need your help. If we're ever possessed by evil sprits, you have to promise me one thing." She paused. "That you will kill us." They continued to walk away. The planetary scouts just stared at them. The five teenage girls walking away from their fellow scouts that were just ordered to kill the star scouts. The eight girls were dumbfounded and confused. The scouts in their hearts knew the star scouts knew what they were talking about, but they didn't want to admit it. They were going to be fighting their toughest enemy yet, much stronger scouts.
