Story
Yurika Misumara, the twenty year old Captian of the battleship, Nadesico, runs into her long past friend, Akito Tenkawa, on the way to the Nadesico. Not reconizing eachother at first, Yurika goes on her way leaving Akito behind. Noticing she forgot something on the ground near him, he picks it up and sees a picture. Of who? Yurika and to his surprise, himself! Recalling Yurika and their freidnship and the death of his parents. He runs after her, only to be caught by the police for making a commotion outside the gate. Prospector hires him on the space ship Nadesico, since Akito has the pilots mark on his hand. But claming strongly only to be a cook, the Prospector hires him as that. Later in the series we meet new charecters and so on.

Here is Ruri at the ago of 16 in the movie "Prince of Darkness." I had the chance to watch this in Japanese so I know a little. Akito and Yurika died in a crash on the way to their honeymoon, leaving the Nadesico crew in distress. Some years later, a mysterious new enemy appears and threatens Earth. Ruri sees and at once reconizes Akito, but he has somewhat evil complextion about him. As the story goes on, they search on for Akito. Finally the enemy is killed, and Yurika is freed from her stone imprisonment.
