Mikagami Tokiya has a very sad past. When he was young, his sister was killed in front of him to protect their family treasure, The Ensui. After his sister's death, he always think about revenge. He wants to kill the person who killed his sister. One day, he saw a fight between Hanabishi Recca and Kirisawa Fuuko. He thought that Recca was trying to steal Fuuko's madougu, the Fuujin and think that it was the same as it was before, when his sister tries to protect their Ensui and his sister was killed while protecting it. He attacks Recca two times. The first one saved by Yanagi. He was shocked to see that Yanagi resemblance to his sister. So, he let go of Recca (I think that was the reason. I don't know if it is true or not). He lost in the second fight with Recca. He made Recca promised if he fails to protect Yanagi, Tokiya will kill him. At first, he was trying to do that to make Recca away from Yanagi but it actually made Recca become closer to her.
