A young boy named Shinta had witness to his entire families brutal killing. He was saved by a great swordsman who then renamed him as Kenshin, and took him under his wing to train him so he could have his revenge. Thats the story in a nutshell, but surprisingly it has a mini love story thrown into it witch adds a lot of depth to the story. As for the ending, I don't think I have been so shocked since I saw Fatal Fury : Motion Picture. Although rather depressing, and sad, it was pure exalence.
Animation .... All I can say is DAMN!!! Some of the most amazing character animation, perfectly combined with the prettiest setting animation that I have ever seen. Because of this, the fight scenes look just stunning! And lastly I don't think I ever noticed it in Trust, but Betrayal even contains some actual real-time video that blends very well with the animation. It's very noticable.
Besides Kenshin, and Tomoe, and Master Hiko, I didn't really care for any of the other characters in this series, which is allright becuase the majority of them get killed!!! (hahaha) Kenshin is easiestly the coolest character of this series, who is not only a badass to the extreme, but you will definatly give him simpathy points before the end of the series. Ther best part of the characters in this series is that you get very attached to them very easily.
Surprisingly the orchistraited music throughout the series is probably some of the best of its kind. The highlight is the closing music to each episode. There is no vocal music, but thats completely allright seeings how the orchistraited music completely makes up for it. Amazing sword swings make up the majority of sound effects in the series which are so clear and crisp, that you'd actually believe that you were in the middle of the fight scenes. Finnaly the voice acting is no doubt the best voice acting of all time! ADV went all out by getting professional voice actors which are completely unique for each character. Thumbs up ADV!! ^_^
Anime fan, or not, I will personally gaurantee that you will be fully entertained by every fight scene in this series. And if you are a true anime fan, all of the story as well. If you give it a chance, you will easily become engrossed in each of the charcters, and will be obsessed untill you finish watching it all. And that's, that!
