There is an insidous army of invading aliens heading to earth, with only one purpose ... To destroy it!! The only thing that stands between them, and there goal, is a group of girls in there heavy armor called Iczelion. The majority of the story follows a young school girl, (what else,) named Nagisa. Throughout the entire movie, an iczel, (a Iczelion with out a girl inside it,) follows Nagisa and tries to get her to fight with the others, and to protect the world. But she is a stupid whiner, and refuses for most of the movie, because she thinks training for wrestling is more important than protecting the world! (doesn't that just beat all???) With that in mind, the story was nothing special. It could have been a houndred times better if it wouldn't of followed Nagisa for as long as it did. More importantly though, the series would have been extremely better if it would have actually been finished. This is actuall this series' biggest flaw.

Probably Iczelion's strongest point, is the animation. The characters all look very good, but when they are in the Iczelion form, they all look Freekin' Awesome. Everything is very detailed, and it looked like they took an extremely long time to make. Thing is exactly what every motion picture should look like. Which is pretty damn amazing if you think about it, because this is just a series. As for fight scenes, and boy there are a lot of them, The animation is done even better. (If that's possble.) I don't thnk the animation is perfect, but it is damn near close.

The characters in Iczelion are very likable, with the complete exception of Nagisa. Nagisa's whining, and even logic, is just so plain annoying, that it's hard to even watch her. The biggest problem with her is that she is the main character. I wouldn't say that she ruins the series, but she definatly lowers its overall apeal. Getting off the subject of Nagisa, it's kind of hard to dislike any of the herions in this series that defend our world in thier skin-tight battle armor. (don't forget transformation scenes.) I think my favorite character is Gold Iczelion : Kiro Iijima. She the girl that kicks ass with a smile. You can't help but like that in an anime girl.

Just like the animation, the music and sound of Iczelion is remniscent of a motion picture. It has some J-Pop thrown in at differnt points of the episodes, as well as the ending theme : "Your the Best Soldier". It's all pretty good, but the best is Kiro's little song she sings as she destroys one of the final enemies near the ending. I think it was called "Life is Tough." Sound efects are crisp and clear, especially the explosions. Finnaly, I have only seen the Subtitled version, so I can't really rate the voice acting. But I can say that those japanese girls do scream an awful lot.

Entertainment wise, it's kind of hard to not be entertained by girls fighting aliens in the first place, but girls fighting aliens in skin-tight battle armor .... well, you be the judge! There really isn't that much character development to sit through, with the exception of the beggining of the second episode. So everything else in this series is all out action. Also keep in mind that this action is seen through amazing animation, with good music and great sound. In the entertainment category, If you like action, there is a no-lose situation. Although, if your more of a story person, you may think differently.
