The Story of GSC revolves around a bounty hunter named Rally Vincent, and her pint-sized partner Minnie May Hopkins. These two get into all kinds of shoot-outs, and while they're not dodging bullets, or escaping explosions, they still have time to get chinese food, or pizza. There is actually a pretty well developed story that goes on during these three episodes. Actually I was quite surprised by the story. It was painfully obvious, and predictable, but it was enough to keep my interest.
As far as animation goes, there is a fine line between the character animation, and the rest of the animation of the series. The characters didn't look very good, but the rest of the animation was exelent. Rally's Shelby GT-500 looked freekin' amazing, as well as Radinov's car. (I think it was some kind of mersadese) It was that incredible animation that made the many action sequences look really good.
Rally, and Minnie May were easily the funniest characters in the series. There were some scenes that really didn't have anything to do with the series, besides to give alittle comic relief. And those were the scenes where the main characters shined! Becky, Rally's assisstant, was an annoying character, but in a funny way. As for the rest of the characters ... they sucked, but Whilliam Collins was just a bad idea!! He looked retarted, he talked retarted, so I believe he was retarted! (But not as retarted as little kids, and bad anime dubs!) That's all for characters.
Now before I go and review the music for GSC, I would really like to know where the hell the song went from the preview?!?! I mean, I was first interested in the series after seeing the preview, and the reason I sat threw the preview was because of the song they played during it!! The american jazzy, trumpet music just did not help this movie out at all. On the other hand, the Sound Effects, and good voice acting did! All of the gunshots, explosions, and engine revs get a definate two thumbs up from me. The voice acting was very good up to the point of that annoying bill collin's character. He was just plain annoying!! Also my favorite anime voice actress (Kimberly Yates,) did the voice of Minnie May! So that's always an extra plus.
The entertainment value of GSC is hit and miss. The mojority of the whole thing is a set up to the next plot turn in the story, which in turn, can be a very boring experiance. (seeing's how the story wasn't anything close to something like Neon Genesis, or something.) The rest of the series, (which isn't much,) is jam packed with shoot-outs, a bunch of explosions, and one bad-ass car chase at the end of the second episode. So like I said, it's hit or miss.
