Hey-o! Here’s the tenth episode, just for you people. Enjoy! The New Sailor Moon: Episode Ten Raye had caught up with Serena first, soon followed by Jeff. “Serena! What is up with you?” demanded Jeff before Raye could say anything. “Tuxedo Mask left again. He saved us, and he wouldn’t even let us thank him! What’s the point of fighting with him if he’s going to be some stuck-up jerk?” Serena yelled. “Calm down, Meatball Head. You know that he’s secretive. He is, right?” Raye asked Jeff quietly. Jeff shrugged. “So what? He could at least let us thank him before running off.” Serena turned around. “Serena-” Jeff started. “Serena, you know better!” exclaimed Amy. She and Zach had appeared and Amy was a bit peeved at her friend. “Just because he hasn’t really stayed or done anything to gain our trust, doesn’t mean you can take it out on us. Why do you care so much any way?” Zach put a hand on Amy’s arm. Amy calmed a bit. “It’s just- I don’t- I mean, I know this guy, but I don’t where from. He’s so familiar. I-” Serena sighed. “I’m sorry guys. I suppose I should be getting home soon. I’ll see you at school. Bye!” Serena and Luna ran off. “I wish I knew what was up with that girl,” mumbled Jeff. He started thinking about that silver barrier. Maybe that was part of the reason that Tuxedo Mask seemed so familiar. And maybe that was the reason why Jeff couldn’t quite place her in the past. “Jeff, we should get back to the temple. Amy, should I take Zach to the temple?” Raye asked. “No. Mom’s out of town for some conference for a few weeks. She left this afternoon. I can’t believe that she still went after what happened last night.” Amy shrugged. “What happened last night?” Zach asked. “I’ll explain later,” Amy said quickly. The four left the park, going in opposite directions. ~Thursday, two days later~ Serena sighed as school let out. Everyone was doing the same things they had done yesterday. Jeff and Raye had to work at the temple, Zach and Amy were discussing something about the Negaverse and working on a plan, Lita had started an after-school cooking program with a chef from a famous restaurant for younger people, and Mina had a date with some guy named Kevin again. Serena had never heard of this Kevin guy before, and obviously never met. Even Luna was busy. She was setting up a secret control room somewhere. ‘Maybe I’ll go visit Andrew. I haven’t seen him in awhile.’ With that thought in mind, Serena walked off happily. Reaching the arcade, Andrew was out front sweeping. “Hey Andrew!” Serena called. Andrew looked up and waved. “Hi Serena. How ya been?” he asked. He had stopped sweeping and was now leaning on the broom. “Pretty good. You?” “Fine. Hey, do you know why Darien and Raye seemed so weird that one time?” “Not really. Raye was vague, so I just didn’t try to understand. As for Darien, who knows?” “Who knows what?” asked a voice. “Hey Darien. We were just wondering why you got so pale that one night.” Andrew smiled. “Raye did some weird priestess thing on me, or something. She said my vibes were old. No idea what she was talking about.” Darien shook his head, clearly baffled by Serena’s friend’s words. “Well, that’s okay. I’m going in to play Sailor V.” She walked in. “I wonder who thought up that character?” Serena mused to herself. The Sailor V game was open, so Serena sat down, put a quarter in the slot and started playing. “She sure seems a lot like us, the outfit and all. Plus her name....” Serena continued to play, lost in thought. She didn’t notice that she had gotten to a higher level than she had ever gotten, even with a million quarters. “The goggles aren’t right, and neither are the shoulder things. The choker isn’t right either. She’s Sailor V, not Sailor Moon. Plus, that arm band thingies are orange, not red or blue or white to match the rest. Maybe she’s real and is another scout. Or maybe she’s a take off of an older scout that was already found.” Serena continued on, not noticing the crowd around her. Soon, there was a ringing and and flashing from the game. “What’s happening?!?!?” Serena cried out, very shocked. “Serena, you won the game! No one has ever done it before. Congratulations!” Andrew exclaimed. Serena got over her shock and started screaming, “I won! I won!”, over and over again. Another ringing started again. It was coming from the bottom. A star-shaped thing popped out of a hidden slot into Serena’s lap, followed by a pair of Sailor V goggles. “Cool!” Serena exclaimed. She then checked her watch. “Oh no! I’m going to be late for dinner! Bye Andrew! See ya!” Serena called as she rushed out. She just barely made it home and got changed before dinner was ready. Her prizes were in her room, forgotten. After the excitement from the arcade and her mad dash home, Serena was thoroughly exhausted after dinner. She just barely got her homework done, sure that it was all wrong, but not caring, before she fell asleep, her hand on the star object and the goggles. Friday proved to be tough, since Ms. Haruna was angry at not having a date that weekend. She had brought her goggles and star thing to school to show them to her friends, but she didn’t have a chance to show them. She tried to at lunch, but Amy was studying, Raye was doing something odd that Serena was too scared to ask about, Lita was dreaming up ideas for her cooking classes, and Mina was mooning over her new boyfriend, who she had yet another date with that evening. Even Molly and, ugh, Melvin were doing something, together. She took out the star shaped thing as she headed for the empty classroom. She passed the gate and saw Darien walking past. She waved, but he didn’t see her. She leaned against the gate and touched the rounded top of the thing. It opened and music started to play. It was a hauntingly sweet song that was very pretty. She held it open and walked into the building. Ms. Haruna passed her. “Serena? What is that music?” her teacher asked. “Huh? Oh, it’s from this locket I got from the Sailor V game at the arcade yesterday. I beat the game on one quarter.” Serena stared at the locket. “You shouldn’t spend so much time playing video games. Carry on.” Ms. Haruna walked away. Serena went into the empty classroom, still listening to the locket. That afternoon, Raye was finally free to do something. Jeff was working at the temple, doing little things. “Serena, wanna go to the arcade?” Raye asked. “Nah. I went yesterday, and beat the Sailor V game. I got some pretty cool prizes too.” Serena smiled. “Prizes? Can I see them?” “Sure.” Serena pulled out the goggles, which were both red and blue, depending on which side you wore them, and the locket, out of thin air. It was actually from her sub-space pocket. “And how much money did you spend?” “A quarter. I wasn’t even paying attention, and I won. I kept thinking about, well,” Serena lowered her voice, “if Sailor V is a scout too, or if she was a scout that died already, or something.” “That’s something interesting and morbid to think about. So, how about we go over to your house and watch a video?” “Sure. I’m sure Mom won’t mind if you stay for dinner either. Let’s go!” The two walked off, heading for Serena’s house. Raye, not knowing what videos Serena had, let Serena pick one. She picked Pleasantville, which she had taped off Pay-Per-View. (It’s not on Pay-Per-View yet, but I hope that it will be on HBO or Starz!.) They were soon joined by Sammy and one of his friends. The movie ended just as Serena’s mom called, “Supper!” Over dinner, Serena and Raye discussed what they thought about the movie. Sammy, his friend, and Serena’s parents soon joined the conversation, and dinner passed quickly. Afterwards, Raye invited Serena to the temple to do their homework. Serena agreed, and the two left, Serena saying she’d be home before 10:30, her curfew, depending on what they did. “Raye? How do you think your grandfather will take it?” Serena asked. “Take what?” Raye looked at her. “Jeff being there, with hardly anything you can explain to him, or about Jeff.” “I don’t know. I’m going to tell him that Jeff came to the temple asking for a job. I don’t think he’ll mind too much, since Jeff can clean the temple and take care of the lawn in one school day. The only thing Grandpa will have to do is tend to the Great Fire, and the other sacred objects. I take care of the expenses and how much money we bring in. This will be so much easier for him, even if he doesn’t want to admit it.” Raye smiled. “Besides, he can’t fire someone who isn’t getting paid.” “That’s cool.” The girls had reached the temple, only to find Jeff sitting on the front steps talking with Jeff. “Hey Jeff! Hey Darien!” Serena greeted them. Raye waved. “Jeff, me and Serena will be in my room, doing our homework. If anything happens, tell us, got it?” Raye said, giving Jeff a commanding look. “Sure,” Jeff replied cheerfully. “Is Amy coming too? And Zach?” “No. We haven’t seen Zach for awhile, not since Tuesday. Amy and him are doing some secret project.” Serena shrugged. The girls moved on. “Hey Raye! I just thought of something!” “What is it Meatball Head?” Raye asked. They heard Darien start to laugh behind them. “Uh-oh. He heard you. Now I guess it’s another person calling me that. Anyway, what is Amy going to do with Zach when her mom gets back in a few weeks?” “Dunno. I suppose he could come stay at the temple, but I think that Amy’s mom won’t mind, as long as Amy keeps up her studies and doesn’t do anything with him.” Raye blushed at that last comment. Serena wondered if she had done anything with Jeff. She didn’t ask. An hour later, Serena left. They had finished their homework earlier than they had thought it would take, since Haruna was in a bad mood. As she passed the guys, still on the front steps, she said good-bye to them. “Bye, Meatball Head,” said Darien, with a smirk. “Shut up. Don’t call me that. Bye Jeff.” Serena walked off. Darien laughed again. She glanced back and saw Jeff about to punch Darien in the arm. She silently cheered. ~9 PM~ Beep! Beep! Beep! Serena’s communicator went off, waking Luna, who had returned through the window. Serena, who had been dozing, sighed, and answered. “Yeah?” “Serena, oh good. Raye’s already on the way. There’s been an attack at the mall! It’s drained a few people, but I can’t find it. Help!” “Okay, okay, I’ll come. Wait, the mall? At nine at night? Ames, what were you up to?” “Lita dragged me here to get some last minute cook-ware for her class. Hurry.” “Okay. Bye. Moon Prism Power!” Sailor Moon picked up her sleepy kitty, and jumped out of the window. They rushed to the scene. Sailor Mercury was typing on her computer furiously, and Mars was using her priestess training, with the help of Jadeite. Zoicite was using a visor to scan the area. Luna said to her, “Sailor Moon, put on your goggles. No, not that way, with the blue side out.” She had first put them on with the red out, like Sailor V. Suddenly, Sailor Moon was able to see who was who. She found that the monster, and a brown-haired guy who was next to it, stood out from the crowd through the goggles. “Guys! The monster is over by the fountain, next to some brown haired dude.” “Sailor Moon! You mean that old man? Are you sure?” Sailor Mercury asked. She nodded. “That guy! It’s Nephrite!” whispered Zoicite, horrified. Sailor Moon heard him. “Jadeite, is Nephrite another one of the guards?” Sailor Moon asked. “Yeah. Why?” Jadeite asked. “Because he’s right next to the monster.” Sailor Moon removed the goggles and looked at the fountain, and, sure enough, there was an old man standing next the man called Nephrite. “Okay!” Sailor Moon charged through the crowd. People stepped out of the way. She noticed one of them was Lita, very close to the monster. “Big and ugly, it’s time to get rid of your disguise!” she shouted. The old man growled like an animal and changed appearance in a puff of smoke. Soon a hidious, dog-like creature that liked knives stood there, and the man next to it changed appearances and was soon wearing the Negaverse general costume. The crowd all fell over, unconscious. “So, Sailor Moon, you’ve seen through my disguise. No problem. Spike! Kill her!” The monster charged Sailor Moon, but was blasted by Mars’ fire and slashed by Jadeite’s fire-energy sword. Zoicite made a sword of ice-energy and a shield. Mercury fogged the area around them with her attack, then aimed it at the monster, who froze, literally. Zoicite and Jadeite double teamed it, melting the ice, unfortuanately, but Zoicite blocked the blows with the shield, and Jadeite attacked. The fog cleared, and Sailor Moon saw Nephrite holding an unconscious Lita. “No!” she shrieked. A green glow emitted from Lita’s forehead. A symbol, a four, appeared. Luna did her magical back-flip and a green transformation pen appeared. “Moon Tiara Magic!” Sailor Moon yelled, aiming it at Nephrite, he let go of Lita and disappeared. Sailor Moon used her magic and guided the tiara to the monster. Apparently, it wasn’t weak enough for the tiara’s magic to work. Lita woke up. “Lita! Take this pen, hold it up, and shout, Jupiter Power!” Luna yelled, batting the pen at Lita. She did as told, and soon Sailor Jupiter stood there, and ready for action. “That thing will pay! Jupiter Thunder Crash!” Jupiter shouted, hitting Spike dead on. It howled. Sailor Moon’s tiara moved in for the kill. The only thing left was dust and an unconscious crowd. “Lita?” Sailor Moon asked Jupiter timidly. She nodded. “Good! It’s me, Serena. Amy and Raye are Mercury and Mars. Jadeite is Jeff, and Zoicite is Zach, but you haven’t met him yet.” Sailor Moon de-transformed, as did everyone else. There was a big group hug from the girls. Luna did another magical backflip, and gave Lita a green watch/communicator with the sign of Jupiter on it and a green punching glove. The cat said she’d know what to do with it. Jeff and Zach just watched in disgust. “Why are they so sentimetal?” asked Jeff. “They’re girls.” Zach shrugged. “That’s not an answer.” “When you deal with females, being one is reason enough.” That caused the two to crack up. Serena looked a bit depressed (suicidal word!), but cheered up as they left, because she was going to bed! Like? Hope so. Hey, does anyone ever wonder how they can be so stupid as to not be able to make connections between hair and voice and stuff? I mentioned that before, didn’t I? Oh well. See ya! -Crescent Moon
