4-11-1998 Sailor Moon D The New Dragoons Readme.txt Okay, here we go. In this little file I will tell you of some discrepancies in my series and maybe some comments of where I'm going with this endeavor of titanic proportions. Although, unlike the ship made famous by Hollywood, this thing will not only float, but fly to the stars. So hold on for one hell of a ride because this flight is on a one-way trip to parts unknown (a.k.a. my imagination). Note: I have a personal connection with the R.M.S. Titanic. The ship (as you already know) sank on April 15, 1912, with most of her passengers still aboard, after hitting an ice berg in the early morning hours. The ship had never been seen by human eyes again. Until a Dr. Robert D. Ballard, known as a showman in the scientific community (he was also one of the creators of the Sci-Fi series SeaQuest DSV), made it his personal mission to find that ship and reveal its secrets. He also saw this PR opportunity of titanic proportions (this is not a pun, this thing really was that big) as the gateway to making himself an international star, and possibly save the maned submersible program. On September 1, 1985, Ballard, a rising star in the new field of ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicle) named Martin Bowen, and a pilot dove down into the depths of the Atlantic in the DSV Alvin, a little three person sub, in search of the R.M.S. Titanic. After an hour of bumbling around in the dark, a shape emerged from the inky blackness. As the shadow took shape, the crew of the little sub found themselves staring at the bow of a monstrous ship. After 73 years, human eyes once again rested on the R.M.S. Titanic. Those three people were the first to see the ill fated ship, which was the resting place of thousands of her passengers, in nearly three-quarters of a century. The pilot of the DSV Alvin on that dive, and many subsequent dives, was Dudley Foster, my father. Sorry about that little history lesson. So, let us continue. As you probably know from the disclaimer, I've based this series on PFC Troy Stanton's Sailor Moon V series. Although I have based my series on his, it's not part of the SMV series, but a side trip into the land of my imagination which I have dubbed Sailor Moon D. I will tell you what discrepancies I know about, and tell you about where some of my ideas came from. After all, if I don't mention them in some type of disclaimer, I could be charged with perjury. And I don't need that kind of problem in my life at this moment. So, here we go. Known discrepancies: I am using the Japanese spelling of Ami and Rei because I like those spellings better then the DiC ones. I have not alluded to the fact that Ami is a vampire, and I'm not sure that I will. I'm not big on opening that can of worms. I know there have to be more out there, but I can't see them, and no one has made any mention of others. Next up on tonight's menu; "Where Am I Going?" I have a rough idea of what I'm going to do, so I will give you a vague idea of what I plan to do. I have this set up so that it will come out as a trilogy (I'm a Star Wars fan, okay?!). You already have hints of what is going to happen from some parts of my story so far. By the way, I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel for the first instalment of this series. So it should be another month or so when I finish the first chapter. I'm going to leave you guys hanging at this point, so you will have to wait and see. Legal Stuff (a.k.a. disclaimers) The Europa-class Carrier is based on the SDF-1 of Robotech fame. The Phoenix is based on the Veritech VF-1 Valkyrie fighter, also from Robotech. The Cheetah-class Blockade Runners are based on the White Star from Babylon 5. The Executer is loosely based on the Event Horizon from the movie "Event Horizon". Marauder-class Starships are based on the Defiant from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Wolf's Lair is partly inspired by Area 51, and HAWK from the Dale Brown novels. That covers everything, I think. I'll update this thing as I need to. Wolf looked out of the large window on the observation deck aboard the Cheetah. In the inky blackness of space they could see a large armada of 50 plus spaceships in the distance. At the heart of the armada was the Executer, their target. Their chances of making it through the armada and then docking with it were anywhere from nil to unlikely, and unlikely had just left on the 5:20 train out of town. "I don't know, Mina," Wolf replied doubtfully, "I just don't know." Just a little teaser to wet your appetites. Hang in there. Todd "Sniper" Foster
