A Visitor from the Past, Part 3 by Ice-Wizard@gmx.at PG A few explanations: " " Something is said ' ' Something is thought CAPITAL LETTERS Sailor Pluto talks or someone yells (You'll know the difference) I'M BAAAAAACK! Missed me? This part is going to be different than the previous two. I tried a more serious style. Write me if I should keep it that way or if I should go on as before. With the sound of the breaking crystal I woke up. I thought the silver crystal was the most powerful source of magic in this universe. On the other hand, there was the 3rd rule of Magic: You can learn new spells, you can collect artefacts; you could even rule a whole planet. But keep one thing in mind. There is always someone who is better than you. Someone who can destroy everything you have reached during hundreds of years in a second. 'THAT'S RIGHT. SERENITY DIDN'T BELIEVE IN THAT RULE. SHE WASN'T PREPARED FOR THE ATTACK. HER IGNORANCE CAUSED THE DEATH OF MILLIONS.' 'How can you say something like that? Serenity gave her live to protect her home.' 'YOU BELIEVE THAT?' 'Yes, I do. I would have died to protect the queen.' 'YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST ONE OF MANY CORPSES THAT TURNED TO DUST DURING THE DARK AGE THAT FOLLOWED THE WAR.' I didn't know what to answer. 'IT SOUNDS GOOD; GIVING YOUR LIVE FOR EVERYTHING THAT IS PURE AND GOOD.' Pluto laughed: 'THEY HAVEN'T BEEN WHAT I WOULD CALL PURE.' Her voice became more distant. As if she wasn't really with me. 'THEY WERE CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF SOME MINOR NOBLEWOMAN. THE CIVILISATION OF THE MOON HAS BECOME DECADENT. YOU JUST HAD TO LOOK AT THEM. FAT AND RICH. GIFTED WITH ETERNAL LIVE, PROTECTED BY THE SENSHI. WHEN THE KINGDOM WAS CREATED, THE CHILDREN OF THE MOON HAD TO LEARN HOW TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST THE WILD BEASTS THAT LIVED THERE. NOW THEY LEARN HOW TO WRITE POEMS.' The Guardian of time sounded really angry now, so I didn't dare to interfere with her monologue. During the next hour she told me about the Lunarians as she saw them. Somehow I could understand Pluto's bitter reaction. She told me that she had informed the Queen about the coming attack. More than once, but every time was ignored. Serenity was just calm and had answered: "They won't dare to fight us. Why should they? And if they do, we still have the Magic of our forefathers." 'HA! I WOULDN'T CALL THE ABILITY TO FORM PRETTY PICTURES OUT OF AIR MAGIC. WHAT DOES THIS WEAK QUEEN KNOW ABOUT THE ART? HOW IT WAS BORN. GIVEN FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION...' Pluto seemed to remember me. I could feel the contact break. * * * There was a knock on the door. "Come in." It was Rei. She entered and her expression became quite worried. "How are you? You are quite pale." "Nothing serious, just a bad dream." Rei sat down. "Tell me about it." I wanted to refuse but a look in her eyes made me change my mind. Off course I didn't tell her about the dark creature. Just how the people of the moon had changed during the long time of peace. When I finished I saw some tears in Rei's eyes. "Are you ok?" She just nodded. "I think I remember something. Not a lot. Just a song. And some pictures." "Are you sure? Or are you just visualizing the things I just told you?" Rei shook her head. "I'm sure. I know the difference between imagination and a memory." Before the Senshi of Fire could become more depressed I changed the subject. "Rei? Why did you come? Not that I want to complain, but it wasn't just because I had a bad dream." That improved Rei's mood. "Grandpa caught Yuuichiro asleep during his meditations. Now he has to do all the work by himself." She grinned evilly. "In the name of Mars, I order you not to help him. If you do I'll punish you." She finished with one of Sailor Moons poses, and went out. I thought about paying Ami a visit. She was just 17 but more mature than any other girl I've ever met. Just a moment... She's 17? That did not seem right for some reason. But they were 17 when I arrived, so why does that age seem strange now? That vision of the future that Pluto showed me before taking me out of the past, they were 14 in it. So why are they 17 now? Not that I am complaining. 'THAT'S RIGHT, THINGS HAVE CHANGED. THE FUTURE IS ALWAYS IN MOTION. WHAT I SHOWED YOU WAS BUT ONE OF MANY POSSIBILITIES. MINOR ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE IGNORED AS LONG AS THEY DON'T AFFECT THE ULTIMATE GOAL.' 'You are talking about Crystal Tokyo, aren't you?' There was no answer. First things first: I had to find out more about Mamoru Chiba. What did I know right now? 1) He is Tuxedo Mask 2) He is Prince Endymion 3) He didn't remember any of this. I only suspected the third one, but if he knew his real identity, why should he stay away from the other senshi? The others told me that he just appeared, threw a magical rose to distract the enemy, made a pretty speech and left. Now, with a free day on my hand, I could start project 'Endymion'. I told Rei that I would go to the Arcade to relax a bit. That wasn't exactly a lie. I was going there, but for other reasons. I had to find out what Mamoru knew about his true identity. And, since he called me 'Mentus' when we first met, what he knew about me. * * * When I entered the room Motoki greeted me. "Hi, you're George, aren't you? That new friend of Usagi." "Morning, Motoki. I didn't think you'd remember me." I looked around. Mamoru wasn't here. I played some of the Games Usagi had shown me while having a little chat with Motoki. First I told him a little bit about myself, and then I tried to get some valuable info about our future King. That proved to be a true challenge. Mamoru didn't seem to have a lot of close friends. Motoki was one of the few people he actually trusted. This explained why Mamoru spent so much time here. That was all I could find out without making it too obvious that this was the only reason I was here. The door opened to let someone in, Mamoru. I had used my aura-reading spell while talking with Motoki to tell if he told me the truth and it was still active. I let Mamoru make the first move. "Hey, aren't you the new boyfriend of Meatball Head?" Without turning around I answered. "Hi, Mamoru. Don't worry. I'm just a friend of Usagi, not her boyfriend." After a well-calculated pause I continued. "You don't need to be jealous." "Me? Jealous? I don't even know that word." I didn't need my aura vision to see the truth. Mamoru still tried to convince me that he didn't like Usagi. "Why would I fall for that clumsy cry baby? She's so carefree and doesn't think about what she's doing." "And that's what you adore most about her." That was a direct hit. Mamoru blushed and said something to Motoki. I didn't listen. Mamoru was starting to like Usagi. It wasn't love yet; they each other well enough for that yet. Yelling didn't count there. But at least I knew, that he didn't hate her. They probably just had a bad start. Had they met under ideal circumstances everything could be different now. I didn't want to push my luck so I changed the subject. Since I was playing a Sailor V game I could bring that topic up. "Motoki? Is there going to be a video game about these new Sailor Senshi?" "I'm not sure." Motoki answered. "There is a plan for another Sailor V game with the new ones as guest stars, but they won't get their own one. Why are you asking?" "I've seen them in action once. They were very impressive." I spoke up to make sure Mamoru could hear me. "Especially that guy in the black suit and the cape." No reaction. "I think more than one of the Senshi fell for him." Nothing. "Sailor Moon is his biggest Fan." Still nothing. I gave up. "I'll have to go. See ya, Motoki. Bye Mamoru." The blonde just waved and looked after another customer. "Bye, Mentus." I froze. Slowly I turned around. "Mamoru, what did you call me?" Mamoru shrugged. "Mentus. Isn't that your name?" "No, my name is George Sugam. Who told you I was called Mentus?" The prince thought a while. "Nobody told me. I don't know how I came up with that. It won't happen again." "No problem." With that I left. That was an interesting experience. Whatever kept Mamoru from remembering, it was starting to disappear. Rei had started to remember about the past by just being told about it. I knew by experience that it could be very dangerous to fool around with a memory block. If you made just one little mistake the blocked memories could be lost forever. I decided to give them some time. The fateful day at Tokyo tower was still far in the future. As far as I remembered there would be several attempts to kill the princess before that. * * * It was about 11 am. I thought about paying Ami a visit. It wasn't easy to find the Mizuno's house but with the help of a friendly bus driver I managed to find it. I knocked and was rewarded when Ami opened the door. "Hi, Mentus! What are you doing here?" "Hi, Ami. I was just walking around, trying to explore the jungle you call Tokyo." She was about to say something when I heard another voice. "Ami! Lunch's ready!" Her mother came out of the kitchen. "Who is that young man?" Ami introduced me and asked if I could stay. "I don't want to disturb you, Mrs. Mizuno. I can eat at the Temple." "Nonsense. You're welcome to stay." She smiled at her daughter. "It doesn't happen very often that Ami's friends come here. It's even more rare that her guest's are male." "MOM!" Ami whined. "Stop embarrassing me." Mrs. Mizuno put a reassuring arm on her daughter's shoulder. "It's ok, honey. Come on in you two." I entered and looked around. The house looked quite like I imagined it. The furniture was simple but practical. Everything, from shelves to lamps, was arranged in a way that perfectly used the available space. When we reached the dining room I sat down next to Ami. Her mother brought the food and one more cover. We had some sort of vegetable I had never seen before on the moon. I didn't ask what it was, but as long as it tasted fine I had no problem. Mrs. Mizuno tried to find out more about me. I told her my fake story: name's George Sugam, came here to learn more about this country, job as librarian and so on. "Very interesting, George. That's how you met my daughter. I have heard of that old librarian. He was terrible. Ami once tried to borrow a romantic novel but that guy just sent her away." Ami became as read as the strange vegetable we ate. "Mother! I told you to stop doing that!" I couldn't hide a smile any more. "You see? Now he's laughing at me." I sighed. "Relax, Ami. This just reminded me of my own mother. She used every possibility to embarrass me. I guess that's a disease all parent's suffer from." The following laughter helped a lot to break the tension. We continued with our meal until we were interrupted by a beeping noise. Mrs. Mizuno got up to make a phone call. She was too far away to hear everything, but when she returned she had a suitcase. Ami tried to hide it but I could see the sadness in her eyes. "You have to go again, don't you?" Mrs. Mizuno gave her daughter a hug. "I'm sorry. There has been an accident. I'll come back as soon as possible." Said it and was gone. I was quite confused. "What did she mean? What sort of accident?" "My mother is a doctor. She has to go to the hospital." I wanted to cheer her up. "What about your father? Is he at work too?" That caused a reaction I hadn't expected. Ami started crying. I tried to comfort her and asked her what happened. She told me that her parents were divorced. Her father was an artist. One day he said something about his inspiration having left him. One month later he was gone. Ami was about 5 years old when that happened. I embraced Ami and gently stroke her hair. After some time she relaxed. We just stood there some time, holding each other. I looked in her beautiful eyes and knew that I would do everything to make that loneliness I saw there go away. Slowly I bent down. Closer. She whispered my name and one moment later... BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!! I felt like taking that communicator and smashing it. Ami answered the call. It was Makoto. "Ami, we need Sailor Mercury. Kunzite was seen near Tokyo Tower. Hurry up." Tokyo Tower!? This was far too early. 'Pluto! Why didn't you tell me?' 'I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT! WE HAVE NO TIME. THE PRINCE IS IN GREAT DANGER.' One second later Ami had transformed. She looked at me. I asked: "What are you waiting for? Shouldn't we be going?" "Makoto told me that you could teleport, can't you bring us there?" "I'd like to. But I can only teleport to certain places where I have spent some time. To build a connection." "Then we'll have to run." She ran out of the house and started jumping from roof to roof. I wish I could do that too, however I did have other ways. I concentrated and cast a spell of levitation. That was a weaker version of the fly-spell. Now I could float about 2 meter above the ground. I wasn't able to get higher but a side effect was increased speed. Even now I could barely keep up with Sailor Mercury. I didn't want anybody to recognize me so I disguised myself with an illusion. I did not have the time for anything special so I just chose the appearance of Wiseman. It was very easy to create that black robe. * * * Finally we arrived. Strangely enough there was no battle. The other Senshi were just standing in front of this Tokyo Tower. I hadn't expected what I saw there. "What the hell is that?" Jupiter turned around and saw my disguise. She was about to attack me when Mercury told her who I was. Ami did some quick scans with her computer. "It is Tokyo Tower but it has changed." She could say that again. Instead of a modern building, I saw a high mountain of black rock. I knew I had seen that structure somewhere. Yes! The Visions of the future. If I was right (and I hoped I wasn't) right now Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask were fighting Zoisite. The prince would die protecting the princess. After that, the Rainbow Crystals would unite to form the Silver Crystal and Tuxedo Mask would be kidnapped and brainwashed. I had to stop the chain of events. But how? Mercury checked the walls for a weak point and finally she found one. "Crescent Beam, Smash!" "Mars Fire, Ignite!" The burning crescent beam was too much for the portal. It exploded and allowed us to enter. The elevator looked like something had detonated inside it, so we had to take the stairs. We ran as fast as we could but when I saw a bright light I knew we were late. The power of the Moon princess had awakened and was now ready to heal Endymion. The first thing I saw when I entered the former penthouse was Serenity who had dropped to the floor. She was drained from the use of the crystal. Zoisite was nowhere to be seen and Kunzite was preparing an attack. "Kunzite! Stop it. I want this Tuxedo Mask...alive!" Queen Beryl. I knew that voice. A dark beam of energy headed for the prince. The only thing I could do was to teleport in the way of the energy. It felt like my body was being ripped to shreds. I tried to block the teleportation that had started but it was too late. My last thought was 'At least the prince is save.' Then I passed out. * * * I woke up in darkness. I didn't know what had happened. Why was I here? Then I remembered. I had been teleported to this place by Beryl herself. I tried to get up but I couldn't. My body didn't obey me any more. I wanted to scream but even that wasn't possible. I could feel another presence within me. It was full of dark power and slowly it took control. I was forced to stand up. Whoever did this had not much experience in it. A wave of pain hit me when my legs were bent in an impossible way. I could hear someone laughing. "I'm so terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you." I couldn't answer. "What did you say? I cannot hear you, speak up. Should I release you from my little spell?" She enjoyed that game. Suddenly there was light. I was in a strange room. It's architecture was nothing I had ever seen. "Why don't you say something? Does that mean you don't want to be free?" I activated my last reserves. "I... I... wa... want..." That was all I could do. Kunzite approached Beryl. "My Queen, you should quit playing around with this Human. Even he doesn't deserve this." "SHUT UP! You dare to question my actions?" Kunzite sighed. "No, my queen." That satisfied her. "Good. I used one very rare artefact that has the ability to stun and teleport a person to a certain place. I had but one chance of using it and he interrupted my plan. The artefact was destroyed because of his lunarian genes." Kunzite raised an eyebrow at that. "I thought we destroyed all of his kind." Zoisite appeared. "Let me kill him. He hurt me when we met the last time." He came closer and a blade of crystal appeared in his hand. He was ready to cut my throat when Beryl stopped him. "This is one useful tool I could use to destroy the Senshi." Me? This had to be some sort of joke. "Never! I will not allow that to happen!" For one moment I could fight back the control spell. I tried to teleport away but I wasn't fast enough. This time I felt the true power of the dark Queen. It was filled with pure hatred but there was something else. Something that didn't match in. She was furious. "You are stronger than I expected. But this won't help you." I wasn't able to turn my head but I felt Kunzites hand on my shoulders. "This won't hurt... me." I dropped to the ground, unconscious. We teleported in front ofTokyo Tower. There was police everywhere. They didn't know what to make of the situation. It wasn't just every day that a tower changed to a mountain. Kunzite laughed at them. "Look at them. Just by being there they give their energy to our great leader." I used my Aura vision. There were about 200 humans investigating the place. Some of them had to sit down because of the draining. Then I realized why Metallia was so fond on conquering earth. The human race was a most valuable source of dark energy. I remembered the lack of Mana I once felt. It wasn't gone but it had changed. The humans didn't believe in anything but money. Nothing was dear to them and they destroyed everything. If this would continue there would be nothing left to conquer. I saw what was really going on. Metallia hadn't come to destroy but to save the earth. I felt glad to be allowed to help with this task. Deep within me I felt how wrong this was. I knew that it was just a lie. I tried to get rid of the darkness. Tried to touch the light that slept in my soul. I failed and with every second another of my memories vanished into the new darkness. Kunzite pumped a lot of the dark energy that was gathered at Tokyo Tower right in my body. Then I felt raindrops on my skin. Water. A friend of the water. Ami Mizuno. Thinking about her helped me fight. I would never give up. Never. Kunzite stared at me. "I know you but I'm not sure why. Tell me but try nothing stupid" Suddenly I could move again. Off course I tried to escape but in the moment I made my first move my freedom was gone. I waited. When I felt the spell disappear the second time I just stood there. I knew I had no chance and this way I could at least find out more about my former Master. Slowly I sat down. "Once you were my teacher of the arts. Everything I know I learned from you." That took him by surprise. "What are you talking about?" "Remember! You are Kunzite, Guardian of earth, protector of prince Endymion. You led the great Library on Mercury." "Shut up." "You have been one of the most brilliant scholars in the History of the Moon Kingdom." Kunzite grimaced, as if he was in pain. "I told you to stop!" I had to continue. The Guardians had been put under some sort of mind control spell. But I could feel no magic in them, like with the senshi. "Some people distrusted you first because very view Mages came from earth. But you showed them what you were able to do and they accepted you." "SHUT UP" Kunzite shot a beam of black energy at me. He was too angry to aim so it didn't even come close. "Remember. Your Mind, unlike that of the others, was protected. Beryl couldn't completely erase your loyalty. Isn't that the reason why you but rarely interfere in the current battle? Beryl knows that you could never harm Endymion." This time the blast hit me. "Mentus, I know that you are a Wizard. If you think you can confuse me enough to escape then you are wrong. I thought I knew you but I was wrong. Now there is nothing that will save your worthless live." He continued to twist my mind and this time I thought I had to die. That's when I felt a presence in my head. 'Who are you?' 'I AM...A FRIEND. A SPELL WAS CAST ON YOU THAT IS SLOWLY DESTROYING YOUR MEMORIES. I STOPPED IT. I ALSO TOOK AWAY WHAT YOU KNEW ABOUT THE FUTURE, SO YOU CANNOT DO ANY HARM. I CANNOT HEAL THE DAMAGE THAT WAS DONE TO YOU BUT I WILL CREATE A BARRIER THAT WILL HIDE YOUR MEMORIES. IF BERYL FINDS OUT THAT YOU ARE STARTING TO REMEMBER YOUR PAST SHE WILL KILL YOU.' 'Who are you and why do you help me?' 'I AM AFRAID I CAME TOO LATE. A LOT OF YOUR MEMORIES ARE SEALED NOW. DON'T BE AFRAID, THEY WILL RETURN TO YOU AFTER SOME TIME. A HINT: WHENEVER THEY TRY TO RENEW THE SEAL ACT AS IF YOU FELT PAIN.' As if I had to act there. I was confused. I should have known that voice. This time there wasn't a name, just a picture. I saw a staff, a long black staff with a heart like top that held an orb. I shook off the image and got up. A note lay next to me. I picked it up and read it. Welcome to the Dark Kingdom, Necromancer Mentus. I had some urgent business to look after so I cannot be with you when you wake up. My spell should have destroyed the blocks on your memories and by now you should know the truth. The Senshi are the true enemy of this planet. As long as they live there cannot be peace. I am not sure about your loyalty so you are not allowed to enter the Kingdom by yourself. I will call you if I need your assistance. Kunzite Necromancer? I was a Mage of Death and Destruction? That was wrong, wrong, wrong. Or was it right? I didn't know where I was going. I was in thoughts when I heard a voice. "Hallo, George." It was an old woman. Where did I know her from? She came closer. She wasn't that old, just about 40. She smiled. "How are you?" "I'm quite fine... I think" We walked for a while. The lady seemed to have something on her mind. After a while she looked at me. "Do you know what happened to Ami?" Ami. She had to do something with that strange name. "I don't know, Mrs. ... Mizuno?" She didn't complain so it really was her name. "I haven't seen her for a while. Why do you ask?" I could see that she didn't really trust me. "One month ago, you came for lunch. Where have you been all the time?" One month ago? For me only one day had passed. "I was visiting some relatives. I should have called, I guess." The woman seemed to believe me. "Why don't you come with me? I don't know why but Ami really missed you. She doesn't admit it but I know my daughter." Come with her? Everything in me screamed at me to say yes. But I couldn't. "Sorry, Mrs. Mizuno. Maybe another time." I turned around and walked in the other direction. But after some time I turned around and began following that strange woman. She took her car but because of a traffic jam I had no problem keeping up with her. * * * When the car stopped I tried one of my new spells. It was called 'Shadow Form'. My body started melting. What was left behind was a dark grey form that barely looked like me. Now I hid behind some bushes and waited. The strange woman opened the door and was greeted by a girl about my age. It was late so she wore her pyjamas. Her hair was wet; she probably had taken a shower. I couldn't stop staring at her. How could I have forgotten someone like HER! I came closer and followed them inside the house. A side effect of the shadow form was that I couldn't hear anything. I waited until they entered the kitchen and transformed back. "Where did you see him?" was the first thing I heard when I was back to my usual form. The other person answered but I couldn't understand the answer. My ears hadn't adjusted yet. The blue haired girl sounded rather excited. She questioned her mother about our short meeting. What did I mean to this human? I was about to leave when I heard a beeping sound. The older one was about to get up when the other jumped up. She said that it was for her and left. I didn't dare to follow her. Suddenly a wave of pain hit me. I tried to absorb the damage but I failed. I heard Beryl's voice in my head. "Your duty is to kill Sailor Moon and to capture Tuxedo Mask and the Silver Crystal. Not to crawl around human houses and watch pretty girls. Do you understand me?" I agreed. What else should I have done? I tried something. 'You are nothing. I don't follow your commands. Do you understand me?' No reaction. Maybe this strange voice had been right. No one could read my mind any more. There was another contact. Kunzite told me to come to his location to help him. I didn't know what this was about but I teleported there. * * * Kunzite was at a cinema, randomly draining energy. "Where have you been? The Senshi are on their way here." I ignored his question "What is the plan?" "Easy. They come and we destroy them." Kunzite grinned. "If you are able to do that." I had no idea where the knowledge came from but I started collecting energy. I formed a big spear of bone and shot it at Kunzite. He dodged it without haste. The general's grin widened. "I see you are familiar with the basic attacks. Good, because I sense 5 powerful beings who are coming from that direction." He pointed behind me and I turned around. "How dare you disturb the peace of this place. People come here to enjoy themselves and not to fight. In the name of the Moon I am going to punish you." Sailor Moon did her usual speech and soon Kunzite and I were facing 5 Senshi and Tuxedo Mask. I stayed in the shadow and watched the black clad guy. 'So, he's the one that Beryl wants alive. What's so special about him?' If I had thought nobody could see me I was wrong. I didn't recognize to other four. There was a blue haired Senshi with some sort of scanning device. A visor as it seemed. She told the others something and the one with brown hair done in a pony tale spoke up. "Come out of that dark corner. I want to know who is going to feel my Supreme Thunder. I did as she told me but the effect surprised me. "Mentus..." the blue haired whispered. "You are alive. Did you come to help us fight Kunzite?" She was about to run in my direction but a black haired Senshi stopped her. "Mercury, that's not him. I can sense an evil spirit in him." Her Name was Mercury? That was the planet where I was trained as Necromancer. No, Wizard. I shook my head in confusion. Who was I? I didn't know any more. I just knew that I could trust Kunzite. If he said that these girls were my enemies I had to fight them. I came closer to them. "I'm not sure what your are talking about but it doesn't matter. In the name of Queen Beryl I will destroy you." The blonde one, Moon looked as if she was about to cry. "Don't do that. We are your friends. Don't you remember?" She opened a broach she wore. A silver light came out and blinded me. After some time I could see again. I felt absolutely no change because I simply absorbed the energy. "What was that supposed to be? Do you call that a blast? I'll show you the true power of Necromancy." With that I summoned several spears of bone and shot them at the Senshi. They were very agile and I wasn't able to hit any of them. But I didn't plan on hitting them. I just had to make them moved to a certain point. One more step. Just one more step. Now! "Bone Prison!" I yelled. A wall of skeletons rose around them. I closed my eyes. Wrong. Everything was so wrong. No. Everything was working as Kunzite had planned it. I knew no plan. What plan was I thinking about? Yes. The plan to destroy the senshi. I remembered our meeting with Beryl. The Queen herself had allowed a mere Necromancer to enter her throne room. I could still feel my pride when she told me about my duties. "Is that all you can do?" I looked who had spoken. Tuxedo mask concentrated and transformed. Now he wore a black armour and a big sword. With that he cut down my wall. I grinned. Everything was working as it was planned. The knight left the cage and told the girls to follow him. Now came Zoisite's part. He stunned the knight with some poisonous flower petals and carried his limp body away. Now Kunzite finished the task. I have distracted the Senshi long enough for him to cast a very powerful spell. A dark dome of black energy rose out of the air and imprisoned the Senshi. I dispelled the bone wall and joined the two generals. Zoisite looked at me and nodded. "You have proven to be a worthy ally. But I still doubt your loyalty." I wasn't sure what to do. Why did they question my loyalty? Wasn't I one of them? Zoisite didn't look like one to be fooled easily "I know that we fight for the same goal. To save earth." But I wasn't sure any more who was the threat. Beryl or Sailor Moon. Kunzite put a hand on my shoulder. "I don't want to interrupt the Family union but" he pointed at the dark dome where the Senshi still tried to escape by using their powers. "We aren't done here." Zoisite laughed, "Well they should be easy enough to kill know. Hey Mentus how about I kill this blue haired one?" With that she reached into the dome and extracted Mercury. As her body went through the barrier it went limp. Holding her up by the neck Zoisite squeezed while sending energy into her body. I watched as Mercury screamed, feeling nothing. Zoisite threw the nearly lifeless body to the ground in front of me and created one of her crystalline swords. From inside the dome Sailor Moon was crying, pleading with Zoisite to leave Mercury alone and take her instead. I looked down at the Mercury as Zoisite stabbed the sword through her leg. Blood began to flow everywhere and Mercury's form shimmered and was replaced by that of just a school girl. The girl turn her head to look at me, tears in her eyes. Between her labored breaths I could hear her whisper "I love you." and then she lay still. Suddenly I saw an image of that same girl in my arms, sleeping after spending all night watching me. And a promise to always protect her surfaced. I felt a warm glow from somewhere in my soul. I looked at Zoisite who was preparing to kill Ami Mizuno, yes that was her name. And I was in love with her, and would do anything to protect her. That was the one thing that would always be true and nothing else mattered to me. The light began to glow with an intensity that everyone could see it now. It was the Power of the Silver Crystal I had absorbed earlyer. Being of lunarian origin I was able to form the energy. Not as much as a member of the royal family but it was enough. I formed a ball of pure light and shot it at Zoisite. The General was blasted away from Ami. He tried to get up but he couldn't move his legs. I I heard a noise and turned around. Kunzite tried to teleport away with Endymion but taking someone with him slowed him down. "Not so fast!" I shouted and prepared another blast. I had used the time to gather a much greater amount of energy than before. Being hit while teleporting away would surely kill the silver haired man. He looked at me. "You should think twice before you waste your power. Look at the Senshi. The dark dome is draining them. You could kill me now. But are you willing to sacrifice your allies?" I watched the dome. The inner Senshi laid on the ground, detransformed and not able to move. Sailor Moon was on her knees, protected by her Crystal. "Mentus..." I couldn't understand her so she tried again. "Don't worry about us." She coughed and detransformed too. Kunzite was almost gone but I could still have fired. "You won... this time." An Idea hit me. "Hey, Kunzite! I picked up the crystal sword Zoisite had dropped. I aimed at Kunzite's heart and threw it. He had to use a quick teleport so the blade hit only thin air. Prince Endymions form still blinked several times but he stayed here. Normally I could only teleport myself and one other person. But I had no time for that. I concentrated and closed my eyes. I could still feel the four trapped women. I connected them to my aura and started the transfer. They were half way out when the holy energy was used up. My own Mana was still weak from the previous battle. I drew Energy from my surrounding. Nothing. Everything was stolen by the Dark Kingdom. I had to save the princesses. It was my fault they were in this mess. Only my fault. I felt someone behind me. First I was afraid that Zoisite had recovered but when the other person gave me some energy I knew that it was Endymion. Our combined powers were enough to save everyone. I almost dropped to the ground. "Are they ok?" I asked. Endymion became Tuxedo Mask again. "Sailor Moon is unharmed but very tired. Mars, Jupiter and Venus are just sleeping. But Mercury..." Had the damage been done while Ami was still in her Mercury form she could have healed it by just transforming back. But this was different. I was about to carry her away when Tuxedo Mask held me back. "Let me take a look at her leg first." Before I could protest he told me that he studied Medicine and knew what he was doing. "Her energy was drained and the wound in her leg is not big but very deep. I don't think that she will be able to walk for a while. I tried to use a spell to stop the bleeding but I couldn't. I hoped she hadn't lost too much blood. "Tuxedo Mask? Will you take care of the other Senshi?" He just nodded. "I'll take Ami to a hospital. There is one a block away" I wasn't able to teleport, I was too weak. But I didn't care. 'Oh, God! Please make her survive. It doesn't matter if she can ever forgive me as long as she will be ok.'
