Hi! This is part two, coming at you! Tuesday, lunch time at Juuban High School. “Earth to Befu-chan! Earth to Befu-chan! Come in, Befu-chan!” chanted Usagi, waving Derek’s picture in front of Erizabefu’s face. “Huh? Oh, I’m sorry, Usa-chan. It’s just that Derek came last night, and I’ll get to see him today after school! I can’t wait!” Erizabefu’s face was lit up. “It’s okay. We understand,” said Michiru. “Thanks, Michiru-san.” “One more thing before you go off into la-la land again. I speak for everyone when I say that you can use chan instead of san, okay?” Hotaru said. Haruka and Rei glared at Hotaru when Erizabefu looked at Usagi. “Okay, Hota-chan?” Hotaru nodded as Erizabefu looked at her. “I’m Befu-chan.” Everyone nodded. “Hey, Mako-chan! Can I come over tonight and get some cooking lessons? Mom wants me to try to cook something for dinner tomorrow.” Usagi took a bite of her food. “Sure, Usa-chan. How about 7?” Usagi nodded. “Great. Oh, and Befu-chan, my mom wants to meet you. She seemed interested in you helping me with my English.” Usagi shrugged. “Okay. Can I bring Derek? He’ll be kinda lost after school.” Erizabefu pleaded with her eyes. “Sure. Just make sure my dad knows he’s your boyfriend, not mine.” Usagi and the other girls laughed. “What’s so funny?” Erizabefu asked. “Well, Befu-chan, Usa-chan’s dad is very overprotective of her. He barely let her go out with Mamoru-san!” giggled Minako. The bell rang. Tuesday, after school, heading for the Azabu campus. “Usa-chan, are you sure your dad won’t mind if I bring Derek? I don’t want to impose, or anything.” “Befu-chan, don’t worry. Besides, Mamo-chan will be there too. My dad wanted to talk to him about something or other.” Usagi gave her friend a hug. “Some day I’ll have to introduce you to Naru-chan and Umino-san. They’ll tell you how strict he was when I was in 8th grade.” “Okay. But let’s hurry and get to Azabu before Derek can get freaked out too much.” The two girls hurried up their pace. They saw that Mamoru was talking to someone at the gate. “DEE!” yelled Erizabefu. The two guys looked up. “Who?” asked Usagi. “Dee, I mean, Derek. Dee is his nickname,” she explained as Derek walked to her. “Lynn! Oh, am I glad to see you!” he said in English. “Me too.” “What are you two talking about?” butted in Usagi, in Japanese. “Usako, let them be. Let’s go so we’re not late.” Mamoru motioned to go. “Actually, my parents wanted to meet Befu-chan, so I’m bringing her along.” The four left. Erizabefu and Derek walked behind Usagi and Mamoru, talking in English. “So, how did you meet Mamoru?” Erizabefu (Lynn) asked. “At the gate. I asked him in what direction the gym was. We got to talking about why we were at the gate.” Derek put his arm around her shoulders. “Figures that you would ask where the gym was. Is that all you do with your spare time?” “No, Lynn. I think about you, and I go out with you. Plus, there’s homework.” “Ugh. Don’t remind me. I have a ton of homework to do.” “In that little briefcase thing? How much could you have?” “It’s all in worksheets.” “Oh.” “By the way, what’s your name in Japan?” “Nichire Derienu.” “Cool.” They walked the rest of the way in silence, just enjoying being with each other. “Here we are!” announced Usagi in Japanese. They entered, Usagi and Mamoru, Erizabefu and Derienu (Derek). “Mom! I’m home! I brought Befu-chan, and Mamo-chan’s here to talk with Dad!” Usagi called out with her loud voice. Erizabefu and Derienu winced. “Oh, I’m glad you got here early today. Mamoru-san, Kenjo is waiting for you in the living room. Usagi, bring your friend in here.” Tsukino Ikuko (?) was in the kitchen. Mamoru headed for the living with a semi-scared expression. The three left went into the kitchen, Erizabefu staying behind a bit. “Mom, I’d like you to meet Befu-chan’s boyfriend, uh, what was your name again?” “It’s Nichire Derienu now. Hello.” Derienu greeted her. “Hello, Derienu-san. And where is your friend? Erizabefu-san?” “Mom, meet Rachiru Erizabefu.” Erizabefu came from behind Usagi. Ikuko took one look at Erizabefu and promptly fainted onto the floor. “MOM?!?!?!?!?!?” shouted Usagi. “MOM?!?!?!?!?!?” Kenjo and Mamoru rushed in from the living room. “What happened?” asked Kenjo. “Mom fainted when she met Befu-chan,” explained Usagi. Derienu felt a little our of place. Mamoru waved him out into the living room, and Erizabefu followed. A few minutes later, Ikuko, Kenjo, and Usagi entered. Usagi looked worried, Ikuko looked like she would cry, and Kenjo looked surprised. “Uh, Usa-chan, should me and Der- Derienu leave?” Erizabefu asked. “No!” Usagi shouted. Erizabefu stepped back, scared. “Wait, I’m sorry. Derienu-san and Mamoru can leave, but you need to stay here.” Usagi sighed and plopped in a chair. “Hey! What’s going on? I heard some yelling,” a little boy called from the entrance to the living room. “Shingo, now’s not the time. Please show Derienu-san and Mamoru out,” Usagi directed. The boy nodded, shocked by his sister’s actions, and led the two guys out. “Mom, would you like to explain?” Usagi asked. “Sure. When Usagi was born, I didn’t realize that I had twins. When the second twin was born, I had to give her up for adoption, because we couldn’t support her. Her adoptive parents promised to take care of her and send me recent pictures of her. This is the most recent picture of her we got.” Ikuko held out a picture to Erizabefu. “That’s my school picture from last year!” she exclaimed. “Oh! Oh! You mean, I’m-, I, I, I’m Usagi’s twin sister?” Ikuko nodded. “Your parents are Rachiru Naru and Motoki, correct?” Erizabefu nodded. “Then you’re my daughter.” Usagi gave Erizabefu a hug. Erizabefu sat down, petrified. Then she got up. “I-, I need to think. Please, excuse me.” Erizabefu left for the door. Usagi made to follow her. “Usagi, no. Your sister needs to think about this,” Ikuko said, stopping her older daughter. Meanwhile, Erizabefu was out of the door, running toward her home. A few blocks from the school, she plowed right into Derienu and Mamoru. “Erizabefu-san?” called out Mamoru. Erizabefu kept running. “We gotta catch her!” shouted Derienu as he raced after her. Mamoru followed. Derienu, being bigger and faster, caught up to her and grabbed her around her ribs. “What are you doing?” he asked. “ I-, I’m, I’m Usa-chan’s, Usa-chan’s twin sister.” Erizabefu got out in between puffs. “What?” “Hey! What’s going on?” asked Mamoru as he caught up. “Lynn just told me that she’s Usagi-san’s sister. What’s she mean by that?” Mamoru shrugged. “I don’t know, Derienu-san. I’ll go ask Usako what happened.” Mamoru took off, heading along the way they had come from. Erizabefu had calmed down somewhat, but was still breathing hard. A few minutes later, Mamoru, with Usagi, showed up. “Usako, can you explain to me and Derienu-san what happened?” Mamoru asked. “Sure. Mom fainted, and then you guys left. Mom told us the story that I had a twin sister who was younger than me, but they had to give her up, since they couldn’t support the both of us. She showed us a picture of Befu-chan from last year at school. That’s when Befu-chan realized that she was my sister. She got scared and left.” Usagi explained it quickly, trying not to look at her sister. “Oh. That still doesn’t explain why Lynn got so upset,” commented Derienu. “Who’s Lynn?” asked Usagi. “Erizabefu. It’s her nickname.” “Oh. Like she calls you Dee?” “Right. English nicknames.” “Uh, can we get back to the subject?” asked Mamoru. “Sorry, Mamoru.” Usagi went over to her sister, who was sitting on a bench. “Befu-chan? Are you okay? Why’d you freak out?” “I’m sorry, Usa-chan. It’s just that, your family seemed so nice, and when it finally settled in that your nice, happy family was the family that gave me up, I couldn’t handle it.” Erizabefu tried to smile. “But, you said that it didn’t bother you about that.” “No. I said that I didn’t mind talking about it. I never said that it bothered me that they gave me up.” “Oh. I’m sorry, Befu-chan. I thought you’d be happy now that you found your birth family.” “It’s okay. I should go back and apologize to them.” “No, they understand. I have to get back for supper now. Mamo-chan, Mom wants you to come over for dinner tomorrow, okay?” Mamoru nodded. “Great. I’ll see you then. Bye-ee!” Usagi waved and dashed off for home. Erizabefu smiled a secret smile. “I should go too. I have to meet one of my friends for a study group in an hour, so I need to eat dinner. Bye, Erizabefu-san, Derienu-san.” Mamoru went in a different direction. “Well, Lynn, it’s me and you.” Derienu put his arm around her shoulders. “Yup. What should we do, Dee?” “I was thinking about going to the gym. Want to come with? You could probably run or something.” “Sure. But, we’ll have to leave in an hour, so we can make it for dinner at my house. Let’s go!” The two walked off, hand in hand. An hour later, the two left the college gym. Naru and Motoki greeted Derienu happily when he came in with Erizabefu. “It’s good to see you Derek,” said Naru. “Yeah. I’m glad to see you too. My name is Nichire Derienu now. I figured I’d pick a name for here too. The college didn’t mind.” He shrugged. “Supper’s ready, people!” called Motoki from the kitchen. The three trooped into the dining room. During supper, Derienu was the center of attention. They talked about his plans for after college. Erizabefu and Derienu kept exchanging sweet glances when they thought the adults weren’t looking. “Well, I should be going,” said Derienu. “Thanks for having me over.” “Oh, it was no problem. We’ll see you again sometime. Erizabefu, be careful on the walk back. This part of Tokyo is known for gangster attacks.” “Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll be careful. ’Sides, Sailor Moon will save me. Bye!” Erizabefu called. Motoki waved as they walked away. As he shut the door, Naru asked, “Toki, how could you tell her about those attacks?” “Simple, Ru. She needs to know to be careful.” “Didn’t she say Sailor Moon would save her?” Meanwhile....... Derienu and Erizabefu walked along at a quick pace, heading for the college. It was starting to get dark. “What did you say to your dad before we left?” he asked. “I told him I’d be careful. That’s all.” She smiled. “Oh. Hey, uh, what’s that up ahead?” Derienu asked nervously, pointing at a big shadow figure following some guy. “I don’t know. Let’s check it out.” “Uh, I don’t know........” “C’mon. Let’s go.” A scream came from the guy, making Erizabefu sprint towards the thing and the man. Derienu hurried to catch up. “Are you nuts? We don’t know what that thing........is.” Derienu had gotten a look at the shadow and wished he hadn’t. “Lynn? What is it?” he whispered. “It’s a monster. Pretty soon it will take that guy’s energy or something, and then Sailor Moon and the other scouts will show up. Well, most of them.” Erizabefu smiled. Derienu looked at his girlfriend like she was totally insane. “But-” he exclaimed. “Sh! They’ll be here soon.” Erizabefu grabbed him and pulled him around a corner of a building. Sure enough, girls in sailor suits and a guy in a tuxedo showed up and fought the monster. Derienu watched in amazement. Erizabefu watched, worried and excited at the same time. ‘I hope that the guy will be okay. He will though. The senshi can handle this, if I know them at all.’ She smiled her secret smile again.Derienu noticed this and decided he would ask her about it soon. Soon, the monster seemed to disappear basically. “What happened?” asked Derienu. “They beat it. That guy is going to be fine.” With that, Erizabefu left the building corner and headed over to the scouts. “Um, is he going to be alright?” she asked quietly. “Where’d you come from?” asked a scout in an odd black outfit that Erizabefu had never seen before. “I was over there,” Erizabefu pointed, “ and saw what happened. Who are you anyway?” “I’m Sailor Star-Fighter. Who are you?” The girl gave her an odd look. “I’m Rachiru Erizabefu. Not that it’s any of your business. Is he going to be okay?” “Yes. He will be fine. I suggest that you leave before the police arrive,” said a girl in a blue and light blue sailor costume, who Erizabefu recognized as Sailor Mercury. “Uh, okay.” Erizabefu turned. “DEE! Let’s go before the police come!” she called back. Derienu made his way over to her, grabbed her hand, and flew off down the street with her in tow. Erizabefu heard one of the scouts say, “Befu-chan’s boyfriend is weird.”, very faintly. She assumed it was Sailor Moon. Again, she smiled her secret smile. “Why do you keep smiling like that?” “Like what?” She stopped and turned to look at him. “You smile like you know some great secret. Why is that?” “Because I do know a secret. It doesn’t matter. Usa-chan is just cooking dinner tomorrow night and Mamoru-san is invited. That’s all.” Erizabefu explained the joke to Derienu. Then, both of them laughed a bit, then Erizabefu started off down the street again. Derienu sighed and followed. The two spent an hour at the gym, and then Erizabefu left, with a promise to be careful and watch her back all the time. He made her call her parents and tell them that she was on her way. ‘Dee sure is over-protective of me. That’s okay. I think it’s kinda sweet.’ she thought as she made her way home. As she passed by the attack site, she noticed that the police were still there, and she was pretty sure she saw a senshi standing in the shadows, watching for something.
