Slayers Try~(7/10)Slayers Try is the 3rd season of Slayers and its also my favorite, because Filia, Xellos, and Valgrav are in it. The animation for Try is a lot better then the previous series and for a TV series its really good. My only complaint is the eyes, Lina's eyes take up 2/3 of her face! Besides that I enjoyed the series, and that one episode with the old Power Ranger/live action wannabes is hilarious.

Tenkuu no Escaflowne~(8/10)A young girl got summoned to another world and finds out she has supernatural power, falls in love with a guy that use to get on her nerves, blah blah, blah. Sounds like another one of those MKR, Fushigi Yuugi series? Its that and much more! Unlike other animes the noses are drawn bigger (justification for the 8/10) and the plot line doesn't drag. That's what so great about this anime! I bet everyone gets tired listening to Miaka talk about Tamahome for half the series and vice versa. The mecha designs are beautiful, they look like giant knights.

Master Of Mosquiton(OAV)~(8/10)I really like this series. The story takes place in 192X, which I thought was pretty interesting, cuz I barely seen any series take place around that time. The plot is really good, if you guys are interested in like Loch Ness, UFO, mystery stuffs check out this series. The TV series is nice too, but I like OAV better. Its mainly a comedy adventure series,

Mononoke Hime~(9/10)I REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend this movie. And the best part is its out in North America. And I'm pretty sure the video is coming out soon (anyone know anything bout this tell me). Its a pretty long flick and really worth it. Not much comedy, so if you are looking for something like Ranma, you would most likely fall asleep while watching this, but then again watch it anyways. Its an action/adventure/drama

ElHazard:The Magnificient World~(7/10) Even though the main plot line is very unoriginal, out of all the series about some high school kid destined to go to another world, I really like this one (and Escaflowne of course ^.^). I think ElHazard is a lot better then Tenchi Muyo. At least Makoto doesn't look like a melon. Its a comedy/romance/action/adventure anime. If you enjoy Slayers or Tenchi, you might also like this one.

Martin Successor:Nadesico (TV)~(8/10) This is one of the funnniest anime series I've seen. Just when you think the plot is getting serious they throw something unpredictable at you (sd characters . dumb facial expressions, people saying the wrong things at the wrong time!). This series is probably best after you watch something like Evangelion or Experimental Lain. Nadesico is a comedy/mecha/romance anime that takes place in the future and its already released on ADV video.

(picture not available) Great Teacher Onizuka (TV)~(6/10) GTO is a pretty popular series in Japan, unfortunatly I haven't come across any English site about it, or any anime fan that has heard of the series. The series is sort of like You're Under Arrest, about everyday life. I like the manga a lot better then the TV series or the TV drama, check it out anywayz. Oh and the opening and ending themes are really good.

(picture not available) Detective Conan (TV)~(8/10) At first I found the drawing (the ears especially) really annoying. But like Escaflowne you get use to it and the quality of the story covers it up. I really recommend the series for everyone, even non anime fans. Its like Sherlock Holmes, every episode is filled with mystery and little clues to add to the suspense. I haven't read the manga yet, but the TV series itself is already really good.

Grave of the Fireflies~(10/10) Yes this gets a 10 out of 10!!! I love this movie! I think its the best Studio Ghibi flick! The movie is about two orphans trying to survive through World War 2. The orphans goes through many obsticles throughout the movie, from air raids to stealing food. The story is based on a novel. Its almost like a true story reflecting the authors life during the war (he also had to take care of his sister) with little additions. I highly recommend this movie to both new anime fans and people who hate animation! Yes they will like it too, because unlike most anime, there's no saving the world from evil villans, cute big breasted anime chicks. The movements of the characters are so believable, and its not some candy coated movie that glorifies war. Its very dramatic and the movie is filled with little details. I had to watch the movie 3 times to catch some of the things I missed. I'm pretty sure most anime fans have seen Grave of the Fireflies, but if you haven't go rent it at blockbusters or something! This is definatly worth the 1 (or 3, whatever) bucks!

Kyoukara Orewa~(9/10)I love this series, the animation ish pretty good and the plot is hilarious. I really fell in love with all the characters. You can say its another one of those mindless anime series, but I litereally fell outta my chair laughing at some scenes. It is basically your HS japanese ganster type comedy, sort of like Slam Dunk but 10 times better. The plot is basically about 2 students who decide to change their image to delinquents their first day at a new school. There is a total of 10 OVAs I think, and if you can get your hands on it, its a definate must have.
