The darkness inside is tucked away
To be let out another day
I wear this mask so that you don't see
The monster, the darkness inside, the real me.
You don't have to see the tears that I shed
I don't want you to see what's going on in my head
The pain in my heart, the sadness, all the while
Is hidden behind this mask of a smile.
