Bios
Goku
Goku is the main character of DragonBallZ. He is a Saiyan who was sent to Earth to kill everybody on it so it could be sold. However, he fell down a cliff when he was a baby and hit his head and doesn't remember anything. Now he defends Earth. He married Chi Chi and had two sons, Gohan and Goten. He didn't know he was a Saiyan until he was told by Radditz in the beginning of DBZ. Even though he is a 3rd class Saiyan he is usually the strongest character for most of DragonBallZ, even more powerful than Vegita who is the prince of the Saiyans. Goku got his tail surgically removed when he was a baby so the light of a full moon no longer turns him into and Oozaru.
Gohan
Gohan is Goku's first child, he is only half Saiyan unlike his father but because he started fighting at an early age he becomes one of the strongest characters. He was first trained by Piccolo and he always looks up to him and dresses like him. He was the first to go SSj2
Vegita
The all mighty prince of the Saiyans. He was a bad guy early in the series but had to join the Z team when they had to face the Ginew force, and then sides with them after that. He had a kid with Bulma named Trunks. He is the second to go Super Saiyan and is always trying to out do Goku. Even though he fights with the good guys he is still a bad guy with an evil heart.
Trunks
Trunks is the son of Vegita and Bulma. When he first appeared he had come from the future and nobody knew he was Vegita and Bulma's son except for Goku and Piccolo. (He told Goku and Piccolo over heard). He is very powerful (almost as powerful as Goku). His best friend is Goten (only when he is young/chibi). There is a Chibi and Future (Miria) Trunks, Chibi Trunks was born during the series and Future (Miria) Trunks came from the future.
Piccolo
Piccolo is a Namekian. He is Kami's evil half, if either of them die they will both die. In the very begining of the series he tries to kill Goku and take over the Earth. However, when Radditz arrives he joins up with Goku and together they kill Radditz. Afterwards he takes Gohan away to train him and he becomes friends with him. Then Piccolo is a good guy from that point on.
Krillin
Krillin is Goku's best friend. He is with him from the beginning. When he dies in the battle against Frieza Goku gets really mad and turns Super Saiyan for the first time. He used to be a monk so that is why he has six dots on his head.
Yamcha
Yamcha is one of the not so important characters in dbz. He's the first to die in the battle against the siber men (Vegita and Nappa saga). He used to be Bulma's boyfriend but they broke up. He also plays baseball to get money.
Tien
Tien isn't that important of a character in dbz either. He has three eyes and his best friend is Chouzu. He is a pretty good fighter too, he's a little stronger than Yamcha. In DB he was Goku's enemy and was even more powerful than him, but Goku eventually beat him after Tien used up his energy fighting Piccolo Diamaou. Tien is in both DB and DBZ but not in DBGT. He is the strongest Earthling.
Chouzu
Chouzu is Tiens best friend. He's usually the first to die because he is the weakest. He was a Prince on another Planet (I don't know what planet though).
Goten
Goten is Goku's second son. He doesn't appear until later on in the series and in DBGT. He is Chibi Trunks' best friend. He looks just like Goku and likes to fight. He became super saiyan at the age of 7 and is the only half-saiyan with the ability to lift his power level naturally and become SS without getting mad.
