First of all, I'd like to introduce who this bishonen (beautiful man) is. His name is Gackt Camui, and generally speaking, he is a very famous Japanese Rock star. He now works as a composer and a solo singer, unlike the time when he used to work with and be part of another Rock Band called Malice Mizer (He was the lead singer). His real age has never been revealed for certain reasons but he always claims that he is over 450 years old. (He's purely humorous =P) Gackt also appears to have a rather complicated past which I'm not going to elaborate much. I first knew Gackt this year (2000) in between July-August; my friend told me about him and sent me the first few pictures of him I've ever seen. Initially, I wasn't much interested as I had never been a big fan of any artiste (I used to like Kinki Kids and Smap though).

So Gackt has never been on my mind until the end of August 2000 when I don't remember for what reason I started to feel devoted to him. Though it's not good to say this, I still have to admit it - I was strongly attracted to him at first because of his gorgeous beauty. But then it took me only 1 album and less than a day to fall in love with his music, rock music. Gackt alone, has made me break 2 of my records - to be able to devote myself to any artiste as seriously as buying all his albums if possible, and to start liking rock music. Maybe it's nothing special to everyone else, but for me to even accomplish a simple task like liking rock music, it is already an almost impossible task. (Cause' I used to dislike Rock and hate Heavy Metal) But after I listen to his album which I've ever bought - MARS, I knew that I had made a mistake. In fact, his songs are really very nice.

And the other good thing is that he has a very sweet and pleasant voice (not to mention sexy as well). Having a devoted idol and loving rock music is one little matter, but the one thing that Gackt has taught me is to learn how to like and appreciate more of life itself. Personally, I'm a very lonely person. I don't have more than 3 close friends and I have no goals even now that I'm studying. I have very few likes, yet I have lots of dislikes. So after knowing Gackt, it adds into my list of likes, and it makes my life a lot fuller, somehow. I feel like I finally knew how it feels to live with a goal and to work for something which you'd want to attain, whatever it might be. Of course, he isn't the one who really taught me this, but it was only through him did I understand certain simple concepts of life.

It's not easy to describe what I mean and how it is like, but in the overall, I just feel so much lightened up. Besides, listening to his music really soothed me, that's why I love his music so much. In my opinion, Gackt is a very sweet person, serious and devoted to his work, yet he still cares a lot about his fans too. He reads all his fan mails (I'm not sure whether he understands English though) and some times even replies to a few lucky ones. Some of my favorite Gackt song pieces are "Vanilla", "Freesia", "U+K", "Asrun Dream", "Dears", "Marmalade", "Leeca", "Mizerable" and more. If you're not yet a Gackt fan, I suggest you listen to his music (or check out more pics!). I'm sure that he's bound to bring you more surprises than you can ever imagine!
