THE SAIYANS

Bardock Gokou's and Raditz's father. He died on the planet Vegeta fighting off Freeza.
Broli The ultimate Saiyan.  He is not in the comics or the TV series, but appears several times in the movies.  He was born around the same time Goku was, but was alot more powerful.  He wants revenge against Vegeta, and can get quite violent.
Goku or Gokou
(I'll use Goku for now)
The hero of the Dragon Ball series. He was sent to earth from his home planet, nand was raised by a man named Gohan. During the early series, he carries Nyoi Bo and flys on Kintoun. Throughout the series, he dies several times to save the earth, and then is reincarnated by the dragon balls. From Master Roshi, the turtle hermit, Goku learns the "Kamehameha!" fireball, which is used by many characters later on. Goku learns from King Kaioh the Genki-Dama that destroys Boo at the end.
Kakarot Goku's Saiyan name
Nappa Vegeta's traveling companion to earth. He did not last long. Vegeta killed him after he lost to Goku.
Pan Buukin Bardock's fat henchman.
Paragasu A one-eyed Saiya-jin killer with a hate against Vegeta's family.
Raditz Goku's older brother. He appears on earth before Vegeta. After a fierce battle, he is killed by Piccolo, and Goku also is killed by the drilling fireball.
Seripa Bardock's female henchman.
Thales A Saiya-jin Warlord that looks like Goku.
Tooma Bardock's big, lean henchman.
Tooro The fishman that gave Bardock the ability to see the future.
Toteppo Bardock's grey-skinned, chrome-dome henchman.
Vegeta One of the first major villans, Vegeta came to earth with Nappa to hunt down Goku. He is very arrogant, and wants to prove once and for all that he is better than Goku. His trademark techniques include "Big Bang" attack and "Final Blast".

HALF SAIYANS

Bra Trunk's younger sister, she has not shown any battle potential, and appears only in the very end of the sister.
Future Trunks Vegeta's son from the future. He was taught by Gohan, since Goku was dead in that future, but used a time machine
to go back and prevent Goku's heart attack after Androids 17 & 18 killed Gohan. He fights with a sword, and was the second saiyan to become Super Saiyan (before Vegeta!). After Cell is defeated, he returns to the future where he kills 17 & 18, and stops Cell.
Gohan Goku's first child with Chi Chi. He was raised by Piccolo, and for a while, wears an identical costume. His mother wants him to be scholar insted of a fighter, and at one point in the TV series, she makes Goku and Piccolo go out to get drivers' licenses to show him some non-fighting activity.
Goten Goku's second child. He attained Super Saiyan at about 7 years old, and mastered the techniques much faster than even
Trunks. When he grows up, he has shaggy hair, and wears a shirt with his name on it. He was supposed to travel with Goku, Pan, and Trunks in GT, but Pan started the spaceship without him.
Great Saiya Man After Gohan defeated Cell, he grew up into a teenager going to school in Satan City. He uses his skills to fight crime, but wants to protect his secret identity. The silly costume just doesn't cut it.
Trunks Trunks as an 8 year old child in the present. His best friend is Goten, who he is a year older than. He has some of Vegeta's
spirit, and once relieved himself of Brawley's head.

QUARTER SAIYANS

Pan The daughter of Gohan and Videl. She plays a greater role in Dragon Ball GT. Appears only in the end of the series.

FUSION HEROES

Gogeta The Fusion between Goku and Vegeta from movie number 12. He looks like a wicked version of Vegeta wearing a persian vest and pants. Looks alot like Gotenks.
Gotenks The result of Fusion between Goten and Trunks. Gotenks looks looks like a little version of Vegeta (minus the mean look) wearing a persian vest and pants. He is not as powerful as he thought (the first time they got it right, Boo kicked the crap out of him). Some of his trademark attacks include "Gotenks Dounut" which can trap opponents, and "Kamakazi Ghost" where Gotenks spits out smoke that turns into comical ghost replicas of him, which explode on contact with each other or an opponent.
Kaiobit The result when Kaioshin and Kibit switched potara earings-a perminently fused being.
Vegeto The Fusion between Goku and Vegeta from the comics. He looks kind of like SS2 Goku wearing Vegeta's costume. He was very powerful, but after he broke apart, Vegeta broke his earing at the prospect of being eternally fused with Goku.

SPACE BEINGS

Baby Initially, Baby seems to be nothing more than a "machine mutant" embryo -- a kind of infant with red cross-hair eyes, and a teardrop head with the taper pointing in front of him. Eventually, we are told that Baby is actually the essence of the Tsufuru King from the planet Plant, and had been shot into space before Plant had been conquered by King Vegeta. Plant had been occupied by peaceful scientists that liked making weapons. The Saiyans were invaders that landed on the planet in their single-person space capsules, and killed all of the Tsufuru-jin. Plant was then renamed to "Planet Vegeta". Baby has the ability to ooze into people's bodies and either
suck them dry, or plant an egg that allows him to continue controlling a victim after he has moved onto another host. Baby wants to kill the Saiyan in revenge, and heads towards Earth. On Earth, Baby gets more energy from his victims, and eventually becomes strong enough to take over Vegeta.

Geeru The female minion that works with Shiira.
Gill A small robot with a round body, and stick arms and legs. AKA: DD4649T22006RS. Gill is constantly in need of energy, and will therefore eat any mechanical objects in reach. It eats the Dragon Radar, and incorporates the Radar into its own body, allowing it to find the Dragon Balls. Gill eventually becomes part of Goku's team, although it apparently turns traitor to work for Shogun Rirudo. Gill was one of the robots created by Dr. Myuu, but eventually becomes loyal to the Earthlings.
Mega Rirudo Shogun Rirudo has the ability to incorporate other machinery into its body to undergo a power-up.
Muchii The name of the whip that Motchii had been using. Mutchii is really a demon in disguise, and had been the one controlling
Motchii. Mutchii has control over earth, and is capable of reforming rocks and dirt into whatever shapes it likes.
Mutchii Motchii A very tricky priest, Mutchii Motchii is apparently the head priest of the Ruudo sect. He wears heavy robes, and
looks like a character from Dave Sim's Cerebus comics. Mutchii Motchii uses a whip to turn people into dolls and gives the dolls to Ruudo.
Rejjik A kind of "leopard-guy", Rejjik is a semi-honorable warrior who looks for worthy opponents to test his skills on. Initially

When sacrifices are turned into dolls and thrown into Ruudo's urn, they increase Ruudo's power level. But, the souls of the sacrifices remain intact, and can be returned to their bodies if Ruudo is destroyed. When Ruudo reaches full power, it turns from yellow to red.
Shiira The little red dwarf fighter that works for Don Kiaa.
Shogun Rirudo A big, hulking kind of guy, who turns out to be a "Machine Mutant". Machine mutant is the name of the robots/androids that Dr. Myuu has been making for his bid to conquer the galaxy. Rirudo is the effective leader of Machine Planet M2.
Sunpara The short chunky blue-faced villain.
Zuunama A giant catfish that terrorizes people by causing earthquakes when it wiggles its whiskers. Zuunama is actually a fraud,

He introduced the blinding technique to the series, and also had a bunch of other bizzare tricks including making four clones of himself, and growing an extra set of arms.
