Speeches

These are some speeches from Gundam Wing. My friend Ashley typed these, so please ask if You want to use them. Thanks!!

Trowa's Speech:

"oh, quatra, it doesn't matter how it happened, but the colonies have teamed up with oz. and we have to keep in mind that it does mark the end of a war. at the same time it means that our missions have come to an end. from our point of view, it's disappointing that the colonies we have been fighting for have changed their perspectives. that's what happens in wars. we've got no choice but to accept it. the only question left, is what happens with the remaining soldiers. what happens within our hearts. with us gundam piolets, we were completely trained to be soldiers before we even realized it. when you put everything into a battle you start to think that you can change the times all by yourself, don't you. but quatra, you're not the only one who feels that way. we all do. but the kinder you are, the bigger the toll it takes on you. we have to fight with ourselves, within our hearts. and we have to do it harshly in order to come to the right conclusions, even if it means our battles today are meaningless. we have to acknowledge the facts. the five of us have become nothing more than the gundam soldiers, quatra. so now, lets accept it, turn back into the nice guy i once knew. i just hope that something triggers your mind and calms you down. something..." -trowa barton

Treize's Speech:

"...tradition is a history. it's the history of caring built by the deep, true feelings of people. i do think, that fighting in battles can indeed at times seem beautiful. but at the same time, i'd like to express my regret over the lost souls by appealing to you to recognize how priceless man's life is. i beleive what mankind needs is not absolute victory, but a certain demeanor in fighting. an attitude toward fighting. i fear that the era of the soul-less mobile dolls, in other words, the era that the romafeller foundation is creating, may become an embarrassment to the people of the future. i used to think that the ideals of people in the space colonies, such as their highly priced pacifism, were just pitiful complaints born out of their ignorance of tradition.... new warriors were born that surpassed even my ideals, the gundam piolets.... tradition appears blurred in along side their pure feelings. from a historical point of view, warriors who have lost what they were protecting, and were further betrayed by what they were protecting, are losers. but they do not recognize themselves as such. not only that, but they retain a strong will to continue fighting.... the emotions of those who are thought to be beautiful, are always full of sorrow. and honored tradition disappears in the cry of the weak. winners of a battle will eventually decline in power and become losers. and then those losers will cultivate a new leader. i'm telling you i want to be a loser.... with a fancy gun that has long forgotten the meaning of war, i would feel no emotion even if i were to shoot and enemy right through the heart. it's not that a pure person has no emotions, it's that their mind is free. -treize kushranada

Heero's Speech/Heero's "Acceptance Speech":

"Earth: the planet in the solar system that miraculously gave birth to life. In the year After Colony 195, with the development of the colonies, people now live in new surroundings, thanks to plentiful natural resources and cultivated technological abilities. However, this new world is an imitation of human kind's mother land, the earth. But why were the colonies made in the first place? I hear the main purpose was technological development to improve the lives of mankind on earth. Did human kind start asking for too much of this imitation world? This self-sustained life is more stable than life on earth, especially since it lacks the risk of natural disasters. It appears that this unlimited growth was guaranteeing the eternal existance of mankind. Perhaps there was an age where people dreamed of the possibilities in the outerspace, where they could start from scratch. However, its unthinkable that the colonies, or that human kind will ever forget the earth. What did technological development bring to the earth? The kind of technology the earth wants most, military power. Destruction is a human nature that can never be gotten rid of. And now the colonies are developing a militaristic disposition. The colonies cannot forget the earth. The earth has great beauty. The animals called humans have acquired such strength that they even think about controlling this planet for themselves. From the point of view of a planet's life, the life of a living thing lasts no more than an instant. But in the end, it is only themselves that humans can think of, nothing changes. The time spent by humans in outer space has been a complete waste. The ideal is just a dream. This false pacifism, this false living space, outer space is nothing more than a breeding ground for even more battles in the future. Wars throughout history have claimed many lives, although human kind has never been able to forget the sorrow caused by the wars, they have not stoped fighting. The blood and tears they've shed in battle are merely ceremonial. One can't speak of history without refering to the wars of each era as important events. I'm sure the pale pep-talks of fighting for peace have been repeated numerous times in the past. The colonies say they need armaments to maintain peace, it's no different from on earth. The colonies think they've joined the big boys. I guess they believe that the bloodshed would lead to higher moral.... So why do people fight anyway? Perhaps the meaning of human existance lies within their will to fight. People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle. And it's also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never percieved as being tainted." - heero yuy
