| L is the lead detective in the investigation to stop Kira. He is extremely intelligent and is able to put together a number of things that lead him to believe that Light Yagami is in fact Kira. He purposely puts his life in danger on several occasions in revealing personal information in order to try and trap Light into revealing himself. However, Misa discovers his real name, and he is killed. |
