Chapter 1
"No, the old witch is going to come, Henry, we need to get out of here!" an unfamilier voice of a female rang through the mist, "Ok you get her and run! Or else it will be too late." an unfamilier male voice followed. Then suddenly the couple is running away from a mysterious pair of deadly red and cold eyes. The woman's red hair flaired brightly as she suddenly falls onto her knees, with her child close to her, weeping at her situation. The man, who's name was apparently Henry, stopped and bent down covering his wife and daughter, they we all embraced as a dark black eagle like bird swept down as a drawling voice spoke, "Give the child to me, give her to me now, or you will have to pay the consequences!" The evil crackle of a witch rang through the wind chilling the young couple's spines. The evil black bird swept down and grabbed the crying child away from her sad parents. "Give her back to us! What have we done? Noo......."
"NOOOOOOOOO!!!", Evea Townsend, sat up adruptly in her blankets, swepted away by her strange, mad, dream. Sweat was drippling down her forehead and all over her body, wetting her night gown. "It was only a dream, only a dream, that's all it was...only a dream," Evea muttered to herself over and over again just to try to assure herself of the dream.
Then from the darkness a woman, dressed in a long nightgown, she was the old headmistress at Venerona School of Witchcraft, a very dignified woman was she. She came in holding a wispering blue flamed dragon blood wax candle. "Are you all right m'dear?" She said through the darkness, bringing Evea a little warmth. "I am okay, just a little nightmare, that's all madame." The old headmistress looked at Evea, studying her up and down, "Oh okay, well then you ought to get some sleep, I will wake you up in the morning, child," She tucked Evea back into her bed, carefully she stood up and left the sleeping child, whispering, "Pity, to say, she is just like her mother, or else how great she would've been..."
That night came and went as Evea was adruptly awakened by her best friend, Lydia Howard.
"It is morning already? Oh I am so tired!" Lydia shook her head and went over to the curtains, "Oh Evea, must you be so lazy? Mr. Sun is up and ready! You will be late for class, you do realize don't you?" Lydia gave her a goofy smile and walked over to Evea handing her the school uniform. "Thanks, what will I ever do without you?" Evea said sarcastically after she was dressed. Then the two girls walked side by side down the school halls and then disappearing into their own rooms, Lydia to History of Sorcery, and Evea to Chemical Mixing.
"Where have you been?" Evea was greeted by the young Professor Fedricks. "I'm so sorry Madame, I will never be late again." Evea said adrupty, the young teacher sighed slightly, "Then go sit down, we need to start class! Hurry now, and open to page 606, section VII." Professor Fedricks shooed Evea to her desk and returned to her teachings.
But before that, so did something that she has never done! "Special Annoucements!" She said, "Ok I have been told to tell all my students this news, some of it is very unlucky. Ferdinands School, school for Boys and Magic, has burned down...actually that is strange...but anyways, they need a place to stay! So guess what? Since Vererona School of Witchcraft is the largest magic schools around, and we have plenty of space, they have decided to stay with us! Yes, so some of you will be soon seeing your long-time-no see brothers, and some will even make new friends." Said Professor Fedricks with a giggle. Then almost at once all the girls all stood up and cheered, as some of the boy-crazy ones just sat there and drooled. But Evea, just sat and thought to herself, "Oh no...."
The "exciting" class finally ended as Evea stepped out into the halls, knowing that she had to write a essay on what Chemicals are made up of mushrooms, and seeing the giggling girls all throughout the hall. "Oh dear, this is going to be a long day" Evea thought, then seeing Lydia running up to her, with a smile as wide as the moon. "Guess what Evea!" Evea rolled her eyes, "Now what, what's new, I know the guys are comin..." then she was interrupted, "No it's not that, it's my brother! He goes to Ferdinand, I haven't seen him for years, now he's coming! I am so excited. He is almost my only realitive ever, I wish they would come sooner!" And sooner, almost came too fast.
The next day, a large two-story bus rolled along the road.
"They're here! They're here! Come one Evea, let's go find my brother!" Lydia dragged the uninterested Evea, "Oh ok, if you must insist!" to the bus where some other girls where standing waiting for her brother or "friend . Then a very tall boy with blonde hair and green eyes stepped out. "That's him! That's him!" Siad Lydia jumping up and down, then the boy picked up his single bag, as Lydia ran up to him and hugged him tightly around his waist. "Whoa li'l sis, long time no see! How's it doing?" Lydia suddenly burst into tears and sobbed, "I miss you so much Collin, otherwise...I'm doing fine." Evea stood behind looking at the happy family, then a shorter boy, with the same blonde hair and green eyes stepped out, "Hey Lydia, forgot your cousin Dean already?" Lydia looked up and hugged the boy. Evea still, standing there, looked on to the happy rejoicing family, a small smile appeared across her face, Evea felt like she has never felt this way, ever, before. Then, Evea supposed, that Lydia just forgot about Evea in her happiness, as she lead her brother and cousin into the large school, chattering excitely about whats been going on.
It was getting late, Evea just realized that she hadn't really moved, she saw the last of the guys and girls walking off, as she thought, "I wish I had a family, a brother, a sister, cousin, uncle, anything..." she sighed greatly. Then she heard some shuffling behind her. A tall clumsy looking boy was trying to carry all his bags, Evea noticed that they were not all his, some had different names on it, "the others must have just asked him to carry the other bags," she thought. "What are you still doing here? Why aren't you with the others?" Asked Evea. The boy looked up, he, had not noticed her there, Evea noticed that his hair glistened, almost blueish looking, with the sky blueish eyes possible, but he had on some large coke-bottle glasses that made him look...well...a nerd. "Ahem, well Madame, can you possibly help me? I have no idea where i am suppose to go, I am not really good friends with the other boys, since I am new at Ferdinand, and then, well it just burnt down, do you think you can help me?" The boy was extremely polite, so Evea could not, but help, "Well yes, first, the name's Evea, don't call me Ma'me or Madame, or any of that stuff, and this is how; you enter through the front door and there should be signs for you..." Before she was finished the boy trugding the heavy bags walked swiftly away from her and into the front door of the school, saying behind him, "Thanks, mada...Evea, thanks!" And Evea saying, "No problem".
