American Cities

We like different types of travel. We are comfortable just laying at the beach, getting tan, or sightseeing, or just walking around inhaling the surround atmosphere. We like mixture and spontaneity in our travels. Deviations from the plans are offered unique opportunities. When visiting cities we are plan our interior but not follow it to the letter. We travel leisurely. Here are the cities we visited.

PHILADELPHIA

Famous Art Museum

Kimmel Center For Performig Arts.

Chinatown

Independance Hall.

Liberty Bell

Penns Landing

We live near Philly and visited it often. The best way to enjoy Philadelphia is by waking. Walking provides the opportunity to appreciate the city. Start at Penn’s Landing walk west to the Old City neighborhood with its mix of modern and anterior architecture. Then stroll along the South Street. South Street offers unique shopping experience and atmosphere. If not tired walk east towards Center City. In Center City enjoy all the tourist attractions: Independence Hall and Museum, City Hall, Convention Center, Liberty Bell, Liberty Museum. Next day devote to culture. Visit the Avenue of Arts and the Museum Area. Kimmel Center, Academy of Music, Wilma Theater all offer performances throughout the year. In the Museum Area are Philadelphia Museum of Art, Roden Museum, Free Library and Franklin Institute. Don’t forget to visit Philadelphia Zoo and Chinatown. In Chinatown stop at Zen Tea to enjoy authentic bubble tea and a piece of cake. Philadelphia has everything for everyone. CHICAGO
Our time in Chicago was amazing. We stayed in the suburbs in my friends house. They were very hospitable. We took the train every day to the city. We had some plans but usually on arriving we decided on the spot where to go and what to see. We went to Sears Tower, but did not went to observation deck, instead we enjoyed the view and cocktails at Vertical Bar. Walking on Michigan Avenue was fun. We crossed almost from one end to another. Planetarium was a nice experience though it is more family oriented. The stroll along lake Michigan on a hot summer day provided a nice retreat from humidity and heat of Downtown. The ocean breeze provided some relieve from heat. The Art Institute is a must see. We also saw a nice dance performance in Lincoln Park. And who can forget the Ghirardelli ice cream. On a rainy day getting caught in the rain, looking for a place to hide. On the left was Ghirardelli ice cream place. We went inside ordered ice cream. Everyone there was complaining about the rain. We were looking at one another trying not to laugh, thinking “who cares about the rain, the ice cream is delicious, just enjoyed.” After a while with rain still coming down we decided to check out the mall and there discovered a good restaurant were we had nice romantic dinner. It was a prefect ending to a day. Is in it what vacations is about? Our friends where a good hosts, taking us to several places including comedy club and German restaurant. It was a prefect vacation. So I recommend the Windy City. Yes we visited the Wrigley’s Field.
