HELLO STUDENTS',
This page
was added to the web site to give you a chance to practice economic objectives
by playing various interactive web games associated with economic concepts.
Some of the sites have interactive quizzes that will also help you increase
your economic knowledge. Many of the sites were developed by various government
organizations that have tried to educate the general public about economic
issues. Many of the sites touch on various objectives covered in your economic
class.
The sites below are described to
allow you to pick the one that you feel you need to work on:
Tutorials for Economic Education

This site covers the ten
basic QCC objectives required by the State of Georgia. The site is composed
of interactive
quizzes, which allow
the students to practice the objectives. The students can take the
quizzes online and check their
answers for accuracy. At
various times throughout the semester, my students will be allowed to pull
up this site and
practice any of the objectives
that we are currently studying. In some cases, the students can print the
quizzes for further
study.
Unit 1: Basic Economic Concepts
This site has an interactive
tutorial to check a students basic knowledge of economic terminology.
The site allows them to check for accuracy after completion of the quiz.
This site has an excellent
practice test over some of the basic vocabulary used in Economics. The
student can go to this link and take the test; and then check their answers
for accuracy.
Unit 2: Economic Systems
This site gives an interactive
quiz to assess a students knowledge of the three basic types of Economic
systems: Market, Command, and Traditional.
This is an interactive
site with excellent summaries of the three basic economic systems that
exist in the world today.
Unit Three: Investments
This site has learning
guides provided by the New York Stock exchange. The site has an educational
section to explain how the stock can make you (as a shareholder) money.
This site has good information
about all types of investments available in our market system. The site
allows the viewer to click on a particular investment of interest, and
then take an interactive quiz to determine their knowledge of the information.
Unit Four: Business
Organizations
Interactive quiz to test
their knowledge of the basic type of businesses.
Another interactive quiz
to check their knowledge of business organizations and the basic terminology.
Unit Five: Demand, Supply, and Price
An excellent 35 question
true/false quiz over objectives concerning demand, supply, and price.
This site has a question
concerning what is on the other side of the screen. The questions are about
the demand and supply graphs.
Unit Six: Market Structures
This site gives a brief
explanation of how the markets differ. An chart is included at the site.
This is another practice
quiz site for high school students. Market structures involve different
ways that firms compete in our free market economy.
Unit Seven: Labor
Interactive quiz about
key concepts and information concerning labor in the United States.
This is a portion of the
Department of labor website that gives brief definitions of the terms that
are used by the government to explain how they view people in the labor
force.
Unit Eight: Money and Banking
An excellent pretest to
see what students know about what the Federal Reserve system actually does
in the United States.
This is a detailed
quiz about the history of our currency in the United States.
Unit Nine: Trade
This is an excellent multiple
choice quiz about key terms and acts associated with international trade.
Prentice Hall provides
textbook web pages with interactive quizzes. This particular quiz covers
the terms associated with international trade.
Unit Ten: Production Possibilities Frontier
This site explains the
significance of the Production Possibilities Frontier and allows the user
to click on portions of the graph to read about what economic situation
is being represented in the graph.
