Hey! My name is Aide. I am an 18 yr. old Chicana(my parents are from Mexico, but I was born here)from Edmond, OK. I love my Mexican culture. My mom is from the city of Juarez, which is south of El Paso, and my dad is from the country State of Durango. So many people say that life is boring here because there's nothing to do(true), but i like Edmond just fine. Been here all my life. I haven't been many places though. There are so many things I would like to do and places i would like to see in my future. If I made a to-do list it would be pages long. I need to catch up on a lot of simple things as well like learning how to swim. I haven't even seen the ocean. Sad, isn't it? Oh well. Someday I will.
I recently graduated from high school and will be attending UCO here in Edmond. I'm so excited. I don't know what to major in yet, but for sure I want to minor in Spanish. The great thing about going to UCO is that I'll still be here with my family and some of my friends. It's gonna be fun. I like doing anything that is not school related. School's out so yay! I got senioritis too early in the year. I kinda got it last year cuz some of my best friends were seniorsI'm glad I can relax for the summer. I get to chill some. Gonna take a summer class during June, but it shouldn't be too bad. I love my family-my parents, siblings, grandma, aunts, uncles, & my cute younger cousins. Ha ha, my cousins look up to me. It's cute. I love all my friends. I love how unique and awesome they are. And I love my boyfriend, Philip, very much and I'm so glad to have him in my life. I'm gonna miss him so much when he goes to Ohio. I just got a car! Yay. I love it. It's a '91 Nissan Maxima. It drives so smooth, but needs work on the a/c, 3 windows need new regulators, and the brakes. It was only $850. It's worth at least $1500, i think. So much better than what I was driving tho(by far)-a 1984 caddy that uses way too much gas. $5 bucks of gas will last a day and a half in that beast. That car scares people too. I am not gonna rob a bank! My brother scared away some customers from Braum's when he drove it one day. Imagine seeing a hispanic teenager driving a ghetto car w/a suspicious look on his face, lol. I work at Highland Ridge. It is a retirement living community place thing. I've been working there for two years now and I love the residents. They are all so sweet. I may laugh at them but really i do respect them even more. I have seen so many employees as well as residents come and go. We used to be called Carriage Inn. We had bad management in the past. The community directors befriended the residents and scamed them. They embezzled thousands of dollars from the residents and lied to them. They also lied to the company. They did so many bad things. When the owners of Carriage Inn found out, they fled Oklahoma and hid in some hick town in Tennessee or Missouri or somewhere. They were arrested with over 20 counts against them. I haven't heard any updates about them, but I hope they are in jail. How can anyone take advantage of senior citizens like that. Some residents had to move out because they could no longer afford the place. Sadness. We are under new owners and management now and the name has changed to Highland Ridge. It's not the best retirement home, but they're working on that. i don't know what else to type, ill add more later! Hasta luego! |
