Lydia Squires

When Seba was about 20 years of age he went to Madison County, NY, thence to Seneca County, near Geneva and Penn Yan. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, serving in Captain Leonard Smith's Company of Infantry, 42nd (Colt's) Regiment of New York Militia. In 1834 he sold his property and went to Clyde, OH, where he purchased over 1,000 acres of land. His five sons all taught school at various times, one commencing at the age of 19 years. This branch of the family are of very large stature.
