Even though it seems like I'm constantly at work, I have next to no money..and here's why! I love to travel. Until I was in high school, I had never been on a plane, and now I'm trying to make up for lost time! Florida remains one of my absolute favorite places. Betsie's wonderful, generous family has taken me there several times, and I've also gone on my own to visit both Jon and Betsie when they were living there. Currently, Betsie and I are saving for an exciting Spring Break adventure, and Jon and I are saving for a two-week road trip back to Florida to visit his family! I'd also love to go on a cruise..*sigh*. But, in the meantime, pictured below, you can see some of the places I've been.

During the summer of 2000, right after my high school graduation, my mom and I took a trip to Boston and Cape Cod. We had an incredible time together! We saw beautiful, historical buildings, cemeteries filled with famous Revolutionary War figures, and the Atlantic Ocean. Above, you can see one of my favorite historical sites; it is the Old North Church in Boston. Historical figures including Paul Revere have been to this church and spoken from its pulpit.

In August, 2001, my friends Vicky, Jen, Betsie, and I took a road trip to Daytona Beach. Four women and ten days' worth of luggage for each of us packed into a two-door Cavalier for over 18 hours straight! It was a BLAST!

While on the Daytona trip, we decided to drive up to St. Augustine. I loved the history of the town (it's the oldest in the U.S.), and I couldn't wait to go up in the lighthouse. Unfortunately, it was thundering, so we were unable to. But my boyfriend and I were able to add to our collection of replicas of lighthouses we've visited. I'd love to be able to have one for each lighthouse in the United States someday! :)

During one of my trips to Florida to visit Jon, we decided to go to Sea World. We had an incredible time seeing the dolphins, sharks, sting-rays, and water ski show, and we got absolutely drenched after seeing Shamu! Here is a picture of adorable dolphins that I got a chance to feed. If I could be any animal in the world, it would definitely be a dolphin! They always look so happy! :)

My most recent vacation was to Denton, Texas to visit Betsie, who recently moved there to go to school at University of North Texas. This is a picture of the old Denton courthouse, which looks very European. I loved the quaint town with its antique shops, old-fashioned ice cream parlours, and lots of history! We also visited Southern Methodist University, which is the most gorgeous campus I've ever seen. Dr. Phil's oldest son goes there! (Gotta love Dr. Phil. Turn on the TV at 3 to catch his talk show!) Also, on one of our nights there, we went to an independent film theatre and saw Dahmer, a movie on the mind of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. What a messed up guy!!
