Upcoming Events at Rakasseh Studio Guelph - June and July!

Ahhh!  The fresh breeze and the caress of the warm sun on bare arms is the sure announcement that summer is just around the corner.  I am looking forward to the wonderful months of warm weather ahead and even more excited about all of the amazing events happening at Rakasseh Studio this summer.  Who said dancing takes a break over the summer? 

I am very excited about the 24 workshops we’re having at Rakasseh this summer, the special Pilates courses, the parties and the nearly sold out Jillina workshops.  The incredible Jillina from Jillina and the Sahlala Dancers and The Belly Dance Superstars will be coming to Guelph for a weekend of Workshops over July 16^th and 17^th and a sure to be Spectacular Show.  Jillina’s Workshops are bound to sell out so don’t be disappointed and register today!  Check out www.jillina.com to read about this beautiful dancer and see video clips of her dance company.

2.                  July 16^th and 17^th The Amazing Jillina is best known for her performances on the IAMED Awards videos and for her work choreographing and performing with the Belly Dance Superstars who travel all over the world.  She will be coming to Guelph for a wonderful weekend of dance!  Yippee!

Saturday - Brand New Egyptian Choreography (not available on DVD)

Sunday - Drum solo and Various Drum Rhythms.

Saturday Performance Featuring Jillina (Location TBA)

One Day is only $70 but Two Days are even better at $120 if you register before June 1^st!  $80 for one day and $130 for two days if you register before June 31^st and $90 for one day and $140 for two days if you register afterwards.  More details and the registration form to come.

a.       Relay for Life –Milton 7-all night!  Halawa around 11:30pm

June 17^th 2005             This wonderful event is to help raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society, and Halawa will be performing in the evening around 10-45pm where they will debut several new pieces including the debut of a very cool Shamadan performance.

 

b.      Guelph Multicultural Festival

June 18^th 4:20-4:35pm Evening Performance of our amazing Shamadan piece at 9:30 or 10pm

June 19^th 2:30-3pm

 

c.       Tapestry Festival – A Dance Through Arabia in Kitchener at the beautiful Victoria Park Pavillion Indoor Hall.  More details at www.haftvadi.com, or 519.569.7139

 

d.      Rakasseh Studio Student Gala

e.       Workshops with Hiba at Guelph’s Groovy Hillside Festival

These cool workshops are free of charge if you pay for your ticket to enjoy the whole hillside festival (this is Guelph’s groovy music festival that takes place every year at Guelph Lake)

Belly Dance:  Gooey Waves and luscious circles - Saturday 11-12pm

Belly Dance:  Staccato Moves, Sharp flicks and Vibrant accents – Sunday 6-7pm
