Strange poems!

Hi guys n gals! this page is dedicated to poetry of all types. Some of the poems are nonsense but some are not - hope theres something for everyone. If you know who wrote the anonymous poems then please get in touch so I can give them credit. As some of the poems are by people who do not wish to be named some of the names are made up. Love M.Hatter! lol that kind of gave it away! E-mail any poems you like or have written to fiz365@hotmail.com

Colours of the fires in my eyes

As the fire rages in my eyes
Every ounce of humanity drains
Every fibre of my being
Every particle of my soul
Everything that is me
Is in the colours of the fire
The reds
The yellows
The blues
Of the fires in my eyes.

WHEN I LOOK:

When I look up at the stars
I think about the life on Mars
Venus shines bright
Its never ending eternal light
Like the shimmer of true love

When I look down at the street
I see all kinds of people meet
Young people looking for fun
While the old look at the sun
In their lovers eyes
Like the soft glow of love

When I look at the trees
My thoughts fly like fleas
I see a bird sitting on a branch
Looking for romance
And I realise that love is all around us!

CRUEL WORLD:

Wherever I see the streetlights twinkle
I see all hope crinkle
As people sleep
The poor men weep
Another day
Without any pay
While you're all curled up in bed
They must always keep their head
Because if they don't
Live they won't
In the cruel world

CRIMINALS:

Why do people commit crime
Its really such a waste of time
They really should just go and play
Instead of stealing people's pay
Why don't they just go pole-vaulting
Instead of going and assaulting
They could all just get a job
Instead of forming a big ugly mob
Why don't they just get a life
Instead of causing all this strife

I EAT MY PEAS WITH HONEY:

I eat my peas with honey,
I've done it all my life:
It makes them taste quite funny,
But it keeps them on the knife.

AS I WAS COMING DOWN THE STAIR:

As I was coming down the stair
I met a man who wasn't there;
He wasn't there again to-day:
I wish that man would go away.

THERE WAS A YOUNG LADY OF BRIGHT

There was a young lady of Bright
Who could travel much faster than light.
She set off one day,
In a relative way,
And returned on the previous night.

THE PLOVER AND THE CLOVER:

The Plover and the Clover can be
told apart with ease,
By paying close attention to the
habits of the Bees,
For En-to-molo-gists aver, the Bee
can be in Clover,
While Ety-molo-gists concur,
there is no B in Plover.

WHEN MINE EYES:

When mine eyes did first see thee
My heart was filled for eternity
Your sweet and honest divinity
Gave leave to love for infinity
I wish that everyone could have the key
To love as true as mine to thee
Accept my love i prithee

AE FOND KISS:

Ae fond kiss, and then we sever!
Ae fareweel, and then forever!
Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,
Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.
Who shall say that fortune grieves him
While the star of hope she leaves him?
Me, nae cheerfu' twinkle lights me,
Dark despair around benights me.

I'll ne'er blame my partial fancy,
Naething could resist my Nancy;
But to see her was to love her,
Love but her, and love forever.
Had we never loved sae kindly,
Had we never loved sae blindly,
Never met -- or never parted,
We had ne'er been broken-hearted.

Fare thee weel, thou first and fairest!
Fare thee weel, thou best and dearest!
Thine be ilka joy and treasure,
Peace, enjoyment, love, and pleasure!
Ae fond kiss, and then we sever!
Ae fareweel, alas, forever!
Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,
Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee.
By Robert Burns

THE GERM:

A mighty creature is the germ,
Though smaller than the pachyderm.
His customary dwelling place
Is deep within the human race.
His childish pride he often pleases
By giving people strange diseases.
Do you, my poppet, feel infirm?
You probably contain a germ.

A RED, RED ROSE:

O My Luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June;
O My Luve's like the melodie
That's sweetly played in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.

Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
O I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.

And fare thee weel, my only luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
By Robert Burns

WHEN THE SKY IS BLUE:

When the sky is blue
I'm thinking of you
When the sun is shining
I'm thinking of our bodies intertwining
When the sky is grey
I wish i were with you for a day
When the rain is pouring
Thoughts of you are never boring
When the snow is falling
Thoughts of you are enthralling
When the sky is black
We can hit the sack
When there a storm
I see your form
When theres a cyclone
I hear your tone
When theres a hurricane
I'm thinking of you again

SOMETIMES I THINK:

Sometimes I think i'm strange
And I should be on the range
Sometimes I think theres hope
But then I think of the rope
Sometimes I think of strife
And think about the knife
Sometimes I think about my notion
And think about drinking the potion
Sometimes I think i'm a slut
And think about getting the cut
Sometimes I think i'm a flop
And think about heading for the chop
Sometimes I think wow
But then I think what a cow

I LOVE... :

I love every contour of your face
Your fab, your fine, your ace
I love your little dimple
Its just so sweet and simple
I love the way you say my name
& I love the way you were always so tame
I love the way your eyes twinkle
& your every little wrinkle
I love the feel of your kiss
Even when you miss
I love the way your insecure
It just adds to your lure
I love the way your so honest
Even for just a little jest
I love the way I love you
I only hope that its true

LOVE IS... :

Love is sweet
Love is sour
Love never has a dying hour

Love is easy
Love is hard
Love never ever needs a guard

Love is tender
Love is firm
Love can always make you squirm

Love is calm
Love is pain
Love can never end its reign

Love is happy
Love is sad
Love is not just a simple fad

Love is seen
Love is blind
Most of all love is kind

Love is black
Love is white
Love is like flying a kite

Love is all
Love is nowt
All you have to do is pout

Love is always
Love is never
Love is simply forever

Love is me
Love is you
Love is ever true

PHENOMENAL WOMEN:

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
