When my older daughter was little, she loved the PBS show Lamb Chop's Play-Along. I didn't mind the show, but oh, the theme song.... "The Song That Doesn't End" would run through my head constantly and was SO annoying! However, in thinking about that song this morning, I see a similarly with the relationship between people and God.

While the Bible gives us a history of God's relationship with the Jews, the non-Jews, and later the Christians, the Bible has never been the end of the story; rather, it's a story that goes on and on and on and ....

The God of yesterday is the God of today--still loving, still forgiving, still grieving with us, still answering our prayers. We help make God "real" to others by sharing with them the ways God is working in our lives so that they can know that yes, God isn't dead, as the lyrics of a modern Christian song express; no, he's still very much alive and still active in our lives and in our world. It truly is the never ending story.
