The Structure of Imagination

By Cami L. Morgan

go to the world
the one past the night and beyond the rain
we stop and stare
gawk really
for the peace of this "world"
it's starry and fair
life is a sweet dream for all of the beautiful creatures
who reside there and really live
live more than anyone of our world
the so-called "real world"
that cruel panic stricken place of disaster and violence
the negative strain of dirtiness
loneliness
the bitterest pill to swallow that swallows so many whole
why would we choose that
many might say
is our foolishness that great
our folly so entire
to learn is hard
to experience even harder
the knife that cuts
from the time we are born
from the time we first scream out in the agony of the negativity
it squirms and shakes inside
trying to absorb the purity it cannot control
trying to eat us alive
while we fight
we fight for the pain
and the heart break
the death
and the sickness
the battle must be won
however
we thrive on the torture we ask for
life is beautiful.
