Another pattern I have noticed is one of a time difference of 36 years and someone's age reverse's. Also the reversal of the ages of the individuals involved always occurs 11 years apart.

I was born in August 1976. Someone who is 36 years older than me was born in August 1940. I was 4 years of age in August 1980. They were 40 years of age in August 1980. 04 and 40 is a reversal. I was 15 years old in August 1991. Someone born in August 1940 was 51 years of age in August 1991. 15 and 51. I was 26 years old in August 2002. Someone born in August 1940 was 62 years old in August 2002. 26 and 62. I was 37 years old in August 2013. Someone born in August 1940 will be 73 years old in August 2013. 37 and 73 - an increase of 11 years. I will be 48 years old in August 2024. Someone born in August 1940 will be 84 years old in August 2024. 48 and 84. An increase of 11 years. I will be 59 years old in August 2035. Someone born in August 1940 will be 95 years old then. 59 and 95. An increase of 11 years. The symmetry stops there, because by August 2036, when I will be 70 years old, someone born in August 1940 will be 106 years old.

Also there is a 27-year difference for when you reverse years in the 20th Century. A difference of 9 from the 36-year difference just mentioned but an increase of 11 on each occasion. For example, someone 1914 was 27 years old in 1941. 1914 and 1941. A difference of 27. Then this occurs with 1925 and 1952, 1936 and 1963, 1947 and 1974, 1958 and 1985 and 1969 and 1996.

This also occurs for people born 54 years apart, and again the time difference leaps forward 11 years. 1906 and 1960, a time difference of 54 years. Jump 11 years to 1917 and 1971, a time difference of 54 years. Then 1928 and 1982 and 1939 and 1993.

If you reverse 1901 and 1910, there is a difference of 9 years. Between 1902 and 1920, another reversal of numbers, there is a difference of 18 years. Between 1903 and 1930, there is a difference of 27 years. Between 1904 and 1940, there is a difference of 36 years. Between 1905 and 1950 a difference of 45 years. Between 1906 and 1960 there is a difference of 54 years. Between 1907 and 1970 there is a difference of 63 years. Between 1908 and 1980 there is a difference of 72 years. Between 1909 and 1990 the difference is one of 81 years. Someone born in 1909 was 81 years old in 1990. Someone born in 1981 was 9 years old in 1990. The years just stated have seen an increase of 1 and 10 years respectively.

There is a qualitative difference of 18 years and an increase of 11 years with each pair of values. Someone born in 1902 was 18 years old in 1920. Someone born 11 years later in 1913 was also 18 years old in 1931. Someone born in 1924 was 18 years of age in 1942. Someone born in 1935 was 18 years of age in 1953. Someone born 11 years later in 1946 was 18 years old in 1964. Someone born in 1957 was 18 years of age in 1975. Someone born in 1968 was 18 years old in 1986 and finally someone born in 1979 was 18 years of age in 1997.

There is also a difference of 9 years and an increase of 11 years in the next pattern. Between 1912 and 1921, between 1923 and 1932, between 1934 and 1943, between 1945 and 1954, between 1956 and 1965, between 1967 and 1976, between 1978 and 1987 and finally someone born in 1989 was 9 years of age in 1998.

This numerical pattern was most flexible between 1901 and 1909 -(someone born in 1901 was 9 years of age in 1910 and someone born in 1909 was 81 years of age in 1990). There is a pattern for those with born with the year ending in a 9 at the end of a decade. Someone born in 1909 was 81 years old in 1990. Someone born in 1919 was 72 years old in 1991 (An increase of 1 year). Someone born in 1929 was 63 years old in 1992. Someone born in 1949 was 45 years old in 1994. Someone born in 1969 was 27 years old in 1996, someone born in 1979 was 18 years old in 1997 and finally someone born in 1989, the end of the 1980's, was 9 years old in 1998.

I will illustrate this point with one date:

20th August - my own birthday.

I will start at 1950. In 1950 20th August was on Sunday.

20th August 1962 was a Monday.

20th August 1974 was a Tuesday.

20th August 1986 was a Wednesday.

20th August 1998 was a Thursday.

20th August was a Friday in 2010.

In the year 2022 it fell on a Saturday.

Finally in 2034, 84 years after 1950, the 20th August will fall on a Sunday again.

In the 20th Century, 20th August fell on a Sunday in the following years:

1905 1911 1916 1922 1933 1939 1944 1950 1961 1967 1972 1978 1989 and 1995.

In the 21st century, my birthday has fallen or will fall on a Sunday in the following years:

2006 2017 2023 2028 2034 2045 2051 2056 2062 2073 2079 2084 and 2090.

The calendar of 1952 was identical to that of 2002 up to 28th February, it fell on a Thursday in both years, but the 1952 and 2002 calendars are different from this date onwards. 29th February 1952 was a Friday. 1st March 1952 was a Saturday. In 2002 it fell on a Friday.

1st March 1930 was a Saturday and it was also this day in 1980. The calendar dates remained the same 50 years apart right up to 28th February 1982. 28th February 1932 was a Sunday and 28th February 1982 fell on the same day. Then this changed as 29th February 1932 fell on a Monday. 1st March 1982 was a Monday. In 1932 it was on a Tuesday.

The number '9' is the maximum one-digit real integer (whole number) to which the individual digits of any two-digit figure can add up. In the case of the nine times table, the '9' which is the answer to '1 x 9' is in actual fact the remainder of 'zero' (a palindrome like all one-digit figures) multiplied by '9' (still equals zero).

I don't have an 'A' level in Mathematics and am not a genius at the subject. I cannot apply the lightning calculating abilities I have got to mathematics at academic level. I am fine at some parts of the subject, such as Statistics, Probability, Pythagoras, and Trigonometry, but have difficulty with Algebra and some of the other abstract areas of the subject.

People with Mathematics degrees are in massive demand in society. It's a passport to obtaining a good career but I wouldn't be able to do it. I only have a Grade B GCSE in the subject, but I had to work for it. I wonder if they would have allowed this years ago for my Mathematics coursework investigation. Whether they would have or not, I probably could work out a formula for all these dates if I had the time to do so.

I can also spell out a song on hearing the first few bars and can tell you who it was by. I can also name all the British Prime Ministers and American Presidents of the 20th century, when they were elected and how long they were in power.
