April 1999 was the the warmest April recorded since 1987. Rainfall was above for the second successive year but it was nowhere near as wet a month as April 1998. Snow fell twice during the month. It didn't settle on April 13th. It lasted on April 16th for much of the day after snowing throughout the early hours. In fact it was the second heaviest snowfall of the 1998/99 "Winter" and mirrored 1998 with the heavy April snowfall midmonth.
