This website is dedicated to the women of the Department of Corrections, at
the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility, CCCF.  Whether they did their time at
CCCF, OWCC, EOCI, CRCI, or out of state, this website is for you.

Our goal is to provide a portal for the real side of women in Oregon prisons,
not what the prison officials "allow" the media to portray.  I was there when
groups of civilians and reporters were led by the hand through the complex,
being told exactly what ODOC wanted the people to hear.

I was there when corrections staff told inmates what to say, and "urged" them
to say nothing else.  The lies continued, because no one, including myself
stood up to say otherwise.  But the prison officials that used threats to control
what we said to the media forgot one very important detail----
We were not always going to be under their control!

Well, here I am.  Armed with written accounts of many incidents, all written
by several different inmates who either witnessed the incident, or was the
victim of it.  I fully intend to let those voices be heard.  Among the brave and
fearless women who chose their battles and stood up for themselves and
others, I'd like to thank them for giving me the reasons to create this site.
Without their courage and sacrifice, these stories may never have been told.

And to all of you who wished to remain anonymous, or that I've overlooked
,
you know who you are, and please accept my apologies, and my thanks.

I know from experience that ODOC disciplinary policies can be harsh, to say
the least, especially when used as a deterrent to dissent, or exercising your
rights.  Speaking out against the prison industrial complex is no joke.  They
make up their own rules as they go along.  So let's break the code of silence
and stop the abuse. Prisons are not deterrents to crime, they are capitalist
gains, control, and a means of securing the poor and minorities for slaves,
legally.  This can only be stopped by changing the laws that take power away
from us by taking our rights away.  I believe we need to take back our
constitution, starting with legislation.

               Hope to see you again!
