The Bears are without a doubt the favourites to win the tournament, so any team going up against them had their work cut out, and for the Aardvarx Bs this was no exception. Aardvarx B Coach Pete Hagan did a valiant job of focussing his team in the face of overwhelming opposition, and netminder Alex Tebb performed admirably in the nets, keeping the Bears from running up a cricket score.
A clinical playing style from the Bears kept the Aardvarx chances to a minimum, although the strength of the Bears lays more in their individual skills rather than their team play. The defence were tight and coordinated, by going forward the Bears relied heavily on individually superior skill levels, many of the goals coming unassisted. Brave defence from the Aardvarx B, in particular from Ryan Clarke and Jim Tse, meant that the Bears forwards were presented with a challenge on the times when it was team versus team in the attacking zone. A good result for the Bears, and a good experience for the Aardvarx B squad.
