About The Boat Inn
The Boat Inn was constructed over 100 years ago by the Sephton family who also built The Greyhound, which is situated by the canal.
Traditionally, the Sephton family were renowned canal boat builders, hence the name of the pub
The family and its descendants owned both pubs for many years and only sold The Boat Inn to people outside of the family 4 years ago
Some of the traditional furniture, that was hand made over 100years ago is still in the lounge area today
The Sephton family are so well known in the area that a street within the new local housing estate has been named 'Sephton Drive'
