Emerald Hill Zone, or Loopy Hill Zone as it is known in the level select, is ... red. Actually, red and blue. The grass is red and the hill is a dark shade of blue. |
Even the coconuts that the monkey throws are blue. (Blue coconuts!? What is the world coming to ?) |
Act 1 is medium-sized, frustrating in some areas and notoriously buggy.
There's an invisible wall over here. You have to jump to get across. And when you do get across ... |
... you find out that it's a dead end. |
Upside-down spikes with grass on top is not such a bad idea, but the 'grass' is a collisionless red blob, which means that Sonic stands on the spike, not the grass. And that does not look good. |
This is an extremely annoying part of the level because if you miss any of the spikes or the moving platforms, you fall down and have to repeat the whole sequence. |
There's supposed to be a plug covering the hole, but it's missing. |
The collision is off, so you can go through the wall and fall to your death. |
Invisible wall #2 ... |
... and #3 |
Don't fall from this corkscrew, because if you do ... |
... you fall and die. |
It's over. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! |
Act 2 is short. And when I say short, I mean short.
So short in fact, that you fall down this pipe, which is situated at the beginning of the act, and face the boss. (Notice the Robotnik monitors in the middle of the wall. What's the point of having them over there?) |
So short that it's over in 50 seconds. |
